What are your favorite games to chill out with?? The video used in some of the background footage: • watch while you're high End music by IMBeats: • IMBeats - Phoenix Wrig... #highgaming #chillgaming Games that pair well with weed
Addendum: Using psychedelics to increase neuroplasticity and patiently learning new things about games you like should be a legally recognized form of therapy.
Animal Crossing while high is the most laid back experience I've ever had with a game. The chill music, the villagers, decorating your house/island. So peaceful.
Im kinda offended that most ppl think of easy games when they think of playing while high, i feel that challenge and difficulty pair extremely well with smoking, if anything i am more patient, more relaxed, hyperfocused and actually look for logical solutions when im high, so i believe genres like soulslikes, metroidvanias and roguelikes pair extremely well with smoking
I suck at souls-like games or any difficult game when I’m not baked, but when I am, I breeze right through it without having a single thought in my head
Persona 5 when you’re high is amazing! Such a beautiful game in literally every way. With or without weed it’s my favorite game ever it’s just so relatable and real.
I was just playing Cyberpunk high as fuck and honestly the immersion you mentioned on RDR2 was exactly what I experienced. That game pairs so well with weed it's crazy
Yeah man, same here on PC it's a much better 2 years later... I remember first day launch I could hardly run it without some stutter lol. Too bad they haven't fixed Dead Space Remake yet. Maybe when Denuvo eventually gets removed on PC it will help but who knows they haven't updated it since like January I think. And they only updated it twice (that's 2 patches only) on top of that like wtf. 😂 Anyways my final recommendation for tonight is to remember to take a break occasionally id say before you get past 2 hrs. I played for maybe 2 and a half.hrs after work tonight and as soon as.i got.uo instant migraine left temple throbbing traveling up back of my neck type shit.... Fun stuff. Headaches run in the family unfortunately but yeah that definitely didn't help lmao. Must be something to do with stressing your eyes + tension or something. Makes me wish I had a syn-brain from CBP 2077 xD. Just quickly go into my brain BIOS and manually disable all brain feedback signals fuck that.
i was a little stoned the first time i played dark souls and i have never been so immersed in a piece of media in my entire life. im usually not a fan of challenging, dark and depressing things when im high, but dark souls just hit the spot perfectly as the world design, art style and overall atmosphere is so intriguing. the early game isnt that difficult either so i never felt frustrated or particularly negatively affected from being high
@@statueteethtvYou're going to the wrong place, when you spawn in firelink you need to turn around and head in the direction behind you. That is where you are supposed to go.
Yeah. People associate the souls games with difficulty but in my opinion what makes them so great is the world design/storytelling, art direction, and atmosphere. They are richly detailed and beautiful in a way that I only really started to appreciate when high. Peak immersion and atmosphere, I think everyone should play these games
Hah, seeing the very first game made me click the video. My longest play session while stoned was playing rdr2, I remember starting out at like 10AM, taking a few bong hits and pee breaks as I went, only to realise that it’s 3AM suddenly. Trully one of the most immersive games out there. I second that notion.
My kryptonite. Ever since I discovered this combo at age 15 it was game over (no pun intended). My favorite passed time is just getting super ripped and getting really into a good video game
I’m currently Developing a my first indie game ever. It’s similar to Pac-Man, except you’re a stoner running from the authorities. Your only goal is to survive as long as possible while eating and smoking as much as you can. You can search places for food/money, buy weed off of your dealer, and use hiding spots to avoid enemies. The 4 “maps” are your parents house, a 7/11 style convenience store, a public park, and an abandoned Chuck-e-cheese style franchise with animatronics. I will be making a steam page soon!
The algorithm never ceases to amaze me. Anyway, my pick would be RainCode. It's a very unusual, plot-heavy, mystery solving game where every chapter feels like a whole season of an anime. It has outrageous writing, incredible atmosphere, music, voice acting and characters, and a *stunning* city to freely walk around in. It's all about solving murders and it gets a bit graphic. It's definitely not for everyone, and not just for that reason, BUT, if you do decide that it is your kind of jam, you will be absolutely entranced, and it will completely consume you like it did me and many others.
holy hell, the first time i played the Ultra Deluxe edition and had that whole freaky segment with the hole it blew my mind. and i wasnt even high then! i cant imagine what it would be like if i was
@@bdubsenjoyer Once I was in kind of a bad trip, and after a few hours I started playing Mario Odyssey for the first time, it literally filled the existential void I was feeling
Very thrilled to see Tears of the Kingdom/Breath of the Wild on this list. Getting blazed and absolutely lost in that Hyrule was the highlight of my summer, and also genuinely the best artistic experience I’ve ever had. I’ll add a few more of my own recommendations too: -Any of Insomniac’s Spider-Man games, but especially SM2. The traversal and graphics are so polished in the latest entry that I can swing around New York for hours and never get bored -Valheim and Project Zomboid, two excellent, underrated indie titles on Steam -Undertale (just the Pacifist run though lol) -No Man’s Sky (I cannot under emphasize how exhilarating it is to get high and fly around in space) -Minecraft, obviously
One of my happiest days recently were getting on summer break after my first year of college. I would smoke and play red dead 2 for hours just exploring , fishin , and huntin. Totally immersing myself into my cowboy it was so awesome
dude if you have a ps5 you need to get high and play death stranding. It's definitely more on the trippy dark sci-fi side of games but if you're into that its rlly interesting. can be a bit scary sometimes and breaks the fourth wall ALOT (classic kojima weirdness) but the delivery side of the game can be really mellow and relaxing but also methodical as you have to plan your route and execute it while navigating the dangerous terrain and dodging black tar alien ghosts. also some of the best graphics i've ever seen in a game almost photorealistic at times and a great soundtrack. really an overlooked masterpiece check it out
When covid first hit I would stay cooped in my room playing DS while high, that experience changed what I value in a game. The world is exceptionally crafted and doing the bare minimum in that game had me captivated (also I was high lol)
@@masterweapon334 i’ve played it sober too and it still feels awesome. it really does come down to how well they nailed all the tiny little mechanics so that just crossing a river feels cool. the only other game i’ve played that elicits a similar response is rdr2
nice mugen profile pic, and I completely agree about Death Stranding. Looking forward to the sequel and Kojima’s other upcoming game he’s working on with Jordan Peele.
y'all i remember booting up Breath of the Wild waiting for an edible to kick in. maybe 40 minutes later, i'm doing the paraglide glide distance challenge and boy, timing could NOT have been more perfect floating over the gorgeous environment, sun was setting in, the wind sounds in my headphones, my goodness
Craziest thing ever happened to me was when i first played elden ring while stoned af and had to kill one of those big ass bears u can find in the woods. Shit felt so real
Dude I get what you mean lmfao. I feel like I'm on a peyote vision quest and my mission is to slay a ghost animal that's been haunting my tribe for decades.
My first time playing Fallout New Vegas, my playthrough was me high for most of the time. I never understood the hype around the game; it wasn’t until I got sucked into the dialogue and the world, and being high really kept me intrigued. I actually roleplayed in my head and could not put it down. P.S. also played it entirely on Steam Deck. I received it as a Birthday gift and playing New Vegas on it was like reliving a memory; it felt like playing one of my favorite games for the first time. Once I couldn’t put the game down, I was HOOKED.
This is a great list! (I've heard from a friend that...) Doom and other boomer shooters are some personal favorites to just get zoned in, enjoy the music and the pace without exerting too much precious brain function. Mario Kart/Smash are the de facto champs of a session with friends.
Umurangi Generation is a personal favorite its a game where you take pictures of stuff in some cool environments with a sick soundtrack that features a cybernetic dolphin
Any game you’re already familiar with is great to play high. It can sometimes be frustrating trying to learn a completely new game while stoned as the info doesn’t always stick
I was at a friends place and he made me try beat saber for the first time after we smoked a blunt - one of the funnest times ive had gaming while high even though I was awful at it Im too broke for a VR set but if you smoke and have one I 10/10 recommend it
I agree with this list especially P5. I also like citizen sleeper (the sound track alone), skate 3, and Ghost of Tsushima but specifically the haiku parts.
Skate 3 was my go to for a long time, going down mega park, observatory road or spillway 100 times giving myself different tricks to try and do in a row “cleanly”. My weed brain would get so much satisfaction after I would put together a few tricks exactly like I wanted in my mind
Cyberpunk, Jet Set Radio, and Yakuza are great ones. I also think Stardew Valley is great for the soundtrack alone. When the dance of the midnight jellies event happened, I sat there for fifteen minutes just amazed by the whole event.
Seen a few other people like stoned yakuza as well, I'm trying to get yakuza 0 platinum and doing the substories blazed is great but I just need to fill out my completion list and I'd rather do it not high since those mini games are hard and mahjong is boring and idk how to play
@@zacr8292 Don't even get me started on mahjong lol. I remember playing yakuza 0 a few years ago when i was stoned. I think i was reading the rules for a good hour or so. Almost immediately forgot 1 min in lol.
I personally think its okay to get high every day IF AND ONLY IF you only get high using 1 substance and only do it once per day (like only getting high for no more than 6 hours, don't mix substances, and only use one substance a day). Also, be smart with what substances you use, so don't do coke/crack or heroin/fentanyl.
I never even liked the smell of weed, but the PS2/PS3 years brings back memories of those that did. Shadow of Colossus, Red Faction, and Katamari seemed popular choices of theirs, but I don't know if there is a strong connection here or just the games they had on hand.
Oh, environmental destruction like in Red Faction, immaculate vibes like in Shadow and the weirdness and satisfaction in Katamari are great combinations with weed.
I really enjoyed playing the Far Cry games while high, anything Pokemon related is fun too, I’m surprised you didn’t mention Minecraft, that’s a game that goes hand in hand with being baked as hell.
It helped me discover new ways to play old games. I decided to ride the brake in Star Fox 64 and was getting medals left and right. I now have the courage to constantly deplete the boost meter.
Kingdom come deliverance was a joy while high. I remember getting so invested into the story of a game for the first time and the combat was pure fun. Especially the archery cause it takes real skill!!! And dont get me started on the ambiance, getting lost in the forests was actually.. fun 😂 10/10 would recommend
10000% agree. That game is absolutely fantastic even when I’m not stoned. I wish there were more games of its type. And the archery really is so much fun to get hyper focused on!
@@laxelford3533 ya even once I’m high enough think like others that would rather quit despite it feeling great atm, wanna feel like that all the time naturally somehow or get bit anxious if do too much but a perfect amount has me good for hours
I have beat like, 300 games stoned af. Like, its not even a thing anymore. I don't play games while not stoned. Sometimes I don't even remember playing them.
minecraft is my forever favorite game to play while stoned. the absolute flow i get into while building or mining for hours is so physically satisfying.
Guardians of the Galaxy with the 80s music during the "huddle up" fights was really good when i was high of an edible. I think they played Take On Me,Wake me up before you Go-Go, Never Gonna Give You Up, The Final Countdown, and more.
I played the intro to ToTK stoned, when the title pops up as you initially dive into the game made me cry beautiful stoner tears. Unforgettable moment.
I been slowly & painfully grinding my way through Halo3ODST campaign on legendary while getting high asf after work this whole month…thx for making me consider playing something alot more chill haha
I cannot agree enough with Persona. During the COVID lockdowns I literally sunk hours on hours getting high as hell and playing P5 and it was one of the most therapeutic and probably life changing experiences I have ever had. I had a blast and I think I'll always be chasing that feeling again.
I feel like a game that would be absolutely INSANE while blasted would be the Hotline Miami series. The whole series just feels like the before, during, and after of an absolutely wild trip, and I think actually being on that trip would add a ton to the experience. The blaring music, the tight difficulty, the strategic edge to the gameplay, the confusing plot, the bright visuals, everything about it just seems like it'd be enhanced with the use of psychedelics.
Sonic 2, Ristar, Shinobi III, F-Zero, Star Fox 1-2, Donkey Kong Country 2-3, Streets of Rage 1-2, Bare Knuckle III, TMNT IV, Pulseman, & Panorama Cotton are great retro picks.
Counter Strike was a good one back in my uni days. The down time when you die is perfect for sitting back, watching your teammates, smoking and laughing at the absurd moments. Good times.
Disco elysium's narration and description of the environment and people around you really immerses me when I'm high. Sometimes the descriptions get really gross though, like describing rotten trash and corpses which may turn some away. The narrator's voice is so good though!!
