I'd make the suits worn down yellow, like old bulldozers. And the guns well maintained metal, like weapons just coming out of storage. Quite dark, lots of oil and polished where it would be easy to polish.

If you look at Mantic's 'default' painting scheme for the Veer-Myn, they all have that 'salvaged mining gear' look to them. The GW paint schemes just seem too...clean.

@@wowliker642 I know. I used to play Tau and Admech. Just recently Battletech has been really hitting the sweet spots of my brain and what I've been needing lately. It was a big deal of my childhood with Mechwarrior 4 and has been good to be a part of that again.

My body is so ready for kin. I originally felt a bit anti-space dwarf because it felt like suddenly 40K was just space fantasy but Aeldari don’t really feel like space elves with their intense lore and the more I learn about the kin, the more I see them as just another space faring race which are EPICLY COOL

Especially with these new models, these new mechsuits are absolutely stunning. So much of the squat tech looks well thought out, lived in, and practical. I HATE the einhyr hearthguard terminators, I hope they abandon the classic fantasy Dwarf, Celtic knot aesthetic, feels very played out

Good sponsor, Victoria's stuff is terrific. If you want your Guard proxies to have a different rifles, they just put them in there no extra cost, and you get the standard guns too. Had a minor casting problem with one of the character models, and they send out a new one right away. Didn't even ask for that, but they sorted it out.

A friend pointed out the new Squats look like the Terran forces from StarCraft. I have to say I agree with him. To me, they aren't proper Squats without beards though.

DUDE WAIT Rockraider squats WOULD BE AMAZING. I think that would be a great theme to start a squat army for! The vehicles so far work with what the rockraiders had and probably can kit bash some of the cults and necromunda bits to help fill out that theme

After the reveals, I think it would be pretty easy to convert the vehicles from tires to grav vehicles and just treat them as ground. I fully agree that these guys really have the Matrix vibe to them and I plan on running with it. Quit 40K at v3.5, tried 4th, tried 5th, and vowed I wouldn't play again until GW brought back Squats. Already have my local shop reserving me the first box.

I think the daughters turned out great. I like the darkness... the almost desaturated look to them... I think it lends well when combined with the bright red of the blood. My son has been talking about getting into the new War Cry, which is super easy now that they put the rules up for free (take note GW do this more often) and I was thinking about fielding some daughters as one of my first warbands. I've got a thing for bloodthirsty ladies. Might do a warband of straight up Chaos Knights as well.

Imho the difference between Einhyr and Brokhyr makes sense aesthetically. The former are proper dedicated millitary and the latter engineers. So those guys being a bit more rough with lots of exposed tech makes sense. They probably like to tinker and show of the technical aspects after all. The millitary on the other hand propably just like a neat working and well armored package.

How crazy would it be if the big reveal is Rogal Dorn? Imagine the Squats found him and took him to their homeworld to give him a new hand and to mecha him up in order to be Perturabo's ideal which he could never achieve without submitting completely to Chaos.

It's more likely the big reveal is referring to the Hekaton Land Fortress and the Grimnyr mentioned in the data card leaks that haven't been revealed yet. It is likely we will get another HQ unit for Leagues (most likely a Brôkhyr or Brôkhyr forgemaster) along with the aforementioned Hekaton and Grimnyr given we have not seen the full kit for the lone Ironkin model in the Ironkin reveal. Potentially we could get a unit of COG robots as well, given they have been explictly talked about being sometimes used for combat along with the Brôkhyr making sure they do what they're supposed to. Though that could easily be released as a second wave of models for Leagues in a future edition.

Super tangential but I actually saw Rob Zombie live a few years back and it was pretty surreal. His band was dressed like you'd expect, the fans were dressed like you'd expect and the Rob Zombie himself was wearing jeans, a white t-shirt and cowboy boots and hat. He had shaved his beard and un-dreadlocked his hair too and it felt kind of like Keith Urban had gotten confused as to the venue he was supposed to be at

I would LOVE a fast attack option that is basically Squats with Big Hammers that are on fancy spring-loaded running stilts wearing very light armor but with an invuln save on turns they move because of their speed an unorthodox movement. The lore being that they use the stilts to reach stalactite ore deposits in caves, and so they are spring-jumping from perch to perch as they ascend and descend the mine shaft. Also, I think letting squats take the big Imperium drill vehicle would be cool.

The Nebuchadnezzar looks very much like Captain Nemo’s “Nautilus”. Cool design. Not so with the squats. My opinion only, but I’ll never like them, and I was into 40K last time they were a thing. In other words, I’m old and no one should listen to me.👍🏻 Their new suits are so silly- that 6” extra height is THAT important to them?

Squats? Yeah, pretty cool. Leagues of Votann? Ehhh, hit or miss. The newer ones have definitely been a step in right direction, I dig the exosuits and the HQ looks like an actual Space Dwarf. Problem I've had with some of the others is they look more like tiny Space Marines with Tau-like tech than the Space Dwarfs I was hoping for. Just glad I have alternatives to make my Space Dwarf army, but I do look forward to seeing what people do with LoV, perhaps some of my issues can be fixed with the right paintjob, who knows.

Every single one of the current daemon start collecting boxes are INSANE value for money in terms of points. 2 boxes of Tzeentch and a DP is an easy 1k points.

Why not just settle on a Daughters of Kaine warband for Warcry? You'd only need to paint a fraction of the miniatures you'd need for a full blown army.

GW definitely gave the Squats a Cyberpunk makeover but I'm not sure their spaceship would look anything like the Nebuchadnezzar from Matrix, which resembles a cross between a Zentraedi flagship and the Nautilus "Prawn" submarine from 20,000 Leagues. An improvement over classic biker gang Squats to be sure, but I still like the aesthetics of the Tau more.

This stuff is sweet, The Norse stuff on the other models looked a little too tacked on. I think for future releases if they keep up the grungy sci fi Look we'll have a great range. These new guys, The Ironhead Prospectors and the exo-driller really are the stand outs.

Definitely would be down for a mechramé episode: follow the thread of what ties together and differentiates all the mech designs GW puts out while you paint them. Would actually be fun to see conversions of a few mechs that are just swapping the drivers from one mech into another lol

I would paint the terminator squats shoulder pads with a dark background and the armour plates on top would be the normal armour colour. I think the paint colour choice is a problem for all of their squat models

I kind of imagine the suit-up for the exoskeleton to be a cross between the suit-up in the first Iron Man movie and Tychus Findley's suit-up in the trailer for StarCraft 2. I can well imagine the exoskeletons being used much like a cross between fork lifts and power loaders/shovels.

So the Nurgle Vanguard box for Age of Sigmar has already come out (combat patrol equivalent) and it’s like 50% AoS mortals 50% Nurgle daemons so like kinda meh box for 40K Nurgle daemons. I wouldn’t hold out on the other chaos god boxes for AoS being any different, the various AoS armies for the chaos gods are specifically mixed with mortals and daemons. But if they come out with a Legion of the First Prince Vanguard then you’d be good (LoTFP is like chaos daemons for 40K but belakor is the big cheese in the army for AoS)

I get the feeling that the Votaan range isn’t gonna make sense until people get their hands in it and come up with color schemes that unify all the models more. Because something just doesn’t feel cohesive about the faction yet.

I'm hyped to kitbash the squat suits with gravis and Terminator armor and space wolf bits to get extra Dwarf like. Imagine Gaurdsmen players thinking their codex is next but then GW drops SM codex 2 followed by Raven Guard, white scars, iron hands, imperial fist , salamanders and then guard finally a week later 10ed.

I'm the opposite of Jay. The promos of the squats got me excited for them. It's actually what got me into the hobby. But with the recent new releases, I've been turned off by them. I'm now into Scions. I still dig the Ironhead Prospectors, though.

Even thouigh I dont care on a legal sense I think it seems better to do something GW doesn't do currently for alt minatures then have primarus knockoffs, such as halfling scifi army.
