I live in Japan, there's nobody plays Warhammer in my local, no game shop. The price of a box of these can feed me for a month. I kept trying to get into the 40k/age of Sigmar world despite not being able to play (no local game), but GW just kept making it harder and harder.
Boycot these heretics from "Game Wokeshop", bro! Just buy a 3D printer and print their stuff or buy figurines from a second hand/auction portals! By the Emperor, not a single cent for these woke, Slaanesh cultists! I have been a fan of WH40k almost 25 years... But it's over now. Get woke, go broke!
So, they had the perfect opportunity to get darktide players into the minatures, and they just went for yet another cash grab. I'm so sick of the focus being on the money every single time there's an opportunity. I thought the GW hate was overblown but as a new player everything I've heard has been proven right.
Yep, as long as you still buying them they'll continue doing this. A lot of ppl complains about prices, and a lot of gw things but they continue buying the new boxes and excusing themself. Insane
Just buy 3d printers or go buy 3d printed modeld guys its 100,000x cheaper better details and way more passion and effort put into them. I understand many of you are deeply attatched to GWs line but you can also print those lol theres been no reason to include GW in your thoughts for the past 5 or so years. Me and the guys just update 40k ourselves and newbies roll onto the table with 4000 points lol. We of course balance things out with a goal of 50/50 balance unless we are comparing infentry with heavy etc naturally. You dont have to but we have saved so much money and our experiece has became the richest its ever been because we include everyone even for balancing and developing new mission types and army passives/abilities.
I thought they would have sold the Dark Tide box as cheap as possible as a gateway to get the people who play video games to try out tabletop gaming. At least double what I was expecting.
Started up with GW again with Blackstone Fortress. Since then I’ve kept an eye out for other self contained box games. This doesn’t even have a boss enemy. Luckily I’ve already got a Chaos Ogryn. Gonna wait for this one to be discounted, and gonna ask the Beyond Precipice Blackstone Fortress gang for some homebrew rules to turn it into a new fan expansion.
I had a bad feeling about the Darktide game because of how minimal effort the board was, so charging that much is beyond insulting for the work gone into it.
Whoa, I also thought that Dark Tide box was a B&N style game that would be 50-60 bucks. For 110 dollars that is a total scam. That box will be rotting on shelves for a long time.
I play Darktide and I was excited to pick this up and paint them like they are in the game, At 40 dollars yes I would be more than willing, that would open the door to death guard and reinforcing my guard and chaos forces. 110 I will not be picking it up the Darktide box, it's very disappointing, there isn't any situation where I would be bringing this out to be playing them as the boxed game. I would only be getting them to put them together and paint them up.
The only thing for 110 US on the US store from GW I found so far was the 'BADLANDS OGRE BULLS' kit, that 85 Euro for me here in Germany. So estimating 85 Euro and 20% discount, it's maybe(!) a buy for me but no impulse buy - the price is definitely too high and makes me think for a while. Just due to the fact I want some more traitor guardsmen, have no use for the other 2 chars in the Blooded Killteam (KT Moroch boxset) and have collected the cheaper board games so far.
I can confirm that 110 dollars US, comes out at 85 euro for us in Europe (or 68 with a 20% discount). Fangs of the Blood Queen has that price conversion for example.
The other day you inspired me to make my own video on the Warhammer miniature game box set and yeah, I was expecting it to hit the price range of the introductory set or the space marines to box (Aud $85) I said in my video that I really enjoyed dark tide so the box set excited me! No way I’m paying 200+ Aud for! In my opinion if anyone’s new and wanted to get into 40k please get the introductory set. You get five space marine models and about 20 other models from memory and paints, paint brushes and tools. Plus everything you would need to actually play the game. some of them. when they dont make it on the price list, but are in the war-com article, it usually means they were delayed. so then they pop up in the price list the week leading up to when you can actually get them. it depends on the region though. because often delays are only for a specific area (north america, europe, australia etc)
@@WarHammerMan what I'm saying is you announced the prices of the made to order Orcs and Goblins before they were even put in a Sunday preview like 2 weeks ago
Yes, it really looks like a Target special box. Nothing really there, but a small basic game. I will wait until they do 50% off and maybe even then skip it.
yes this is exactly what i was expecting. but instead they are trying to sell it as if its a Kill team/warcry type box. completely over priced IMO for a standalone game. these always are lackluster games, and its using the kill team rules. this was a greedy attempt to exploit the popular video game audience. it will backfire. i'll be doing the same. picking it up when liquidators are selling them on amazon for 50% off.
i wish i could, but GW sends out prices by region. so i only have access to North America. you should be able to call a local store some time monday morning and get the prices, but i know its not as convenient. sorry! but i do appreciate you watching!
@@WarHammerMan love your content so I always watch all your videos. Then flip across for U.K. prices and it’s cheaper here so doing a dollar conversion don’t work.
I had a funny feeling about the dark tide being more than $60 but $110 is freakin ridiculous! 1st no new sculpts which was a bummer, but acceptable for the right price 2nd no terrain whatsoever? For $110?? Is GW high??? 3rd I’m sure this “new board game” isn’t going to revolutionize the way we play coop skirmish games, so why would I pay $110 🤷♂️ . This was an EASY WIN for gw and they messed it up so bad, this is so disappointing.
Aye I hoped the price reveal was a joke or mistake but no.. so 110$ then you are probably looking at around 90$ for general online stores which is still a bit to much for what looks like a very small box game. But see now I am confused who is the target audience for this game.initially I assumed it is for the board gamers for the warhammer curious etc… but you are pricing it at 110$ which is probably to much for the board game crowd. Now don’t get me wrong board gamers usually have no issue paying 100$+ for a board game but these are usually for overlywrought crowd funding type games with to many minis , delux components etc… this game is clearly not one of those deluxe all in ks type games so I doubt the board game crowd is going to give this game a try. This should have been around the 40-60$ dollar range like blitz bowl . Heck I have friends with no interest in warhammer whatsoever but picked up their own copy of blitz bowl because it is cheap and is a good game. I fear at 110$ GW is going to price out most of the casual audience they are trying to reach for this game.
*shrugs* They've realized that they've got production problems so they'll just limit production and make up the difference by selling to the people with more money than brains or poor decision making skills. I know a lot of dudes without much money who drop every dime on this stuff because they need an emotional high from buying. Love them to death - great dudes but kind of sad.
@@WarHammerMan right! I would have loved it as a $40-60 B&N or Target special, another small-box game to get people involved. Something to give them a little taste of your hobby, because they'll never buy into the full game, but you bring over a 'board game' with beautiful figures and no-eye glazing over-complexity (I find the box games have a nice stripped-down feel i.e. Blitz Bowl) that allows you to share the big game in a bite-sized way.
Backfire horribly in form of big profits while they laugh at armschair ceo's making noise at youtube while being so bad they don't lead millions of pounds profiting company. Talk is cheap, proof is in pudding. Gw has proven track record. Show how you are doing better profits or you just empty name jealous of better businessman.
