This caught me completely off guard. Though individual Warcry and Kill Team boxes would be coming out. Guess they are trying to keep Necromunda going. Glad to see the Dwarfen army coming out for the Old World peeps.
Secundus is cool but it lacks that must rush out and buy it now feel. Something I look to pick up at some point because the figures are cool but not a got to have it right now. Plus I've been out of Necromunda for so long I need to see how easy the old Zone Mortalis is to pick up before committing to the new terrain.
As a fellow Aussie. Jump on the website, switch to the US site find something listed at the prices mentioned and then switch back to Aus site. It will help give you an idea e.g. the Orc and Goblin Battalion is $185 USD = $310 AUD
I am also suprised on this especially since GW hasn't released the Nightmare solo Killteams or even the Pyre and Flood solo warcry boxes. They sure do have a strange release schedule.
The problem with Skaventide is the Stormcast. The Skaven half is going for ~130 on ebay where the stormboys are going for ~80. If they had done any other faction, I imagine it would have sold great.
I told my wife I might break my action figure ban if Perturabo comes to JoyToy. But as always, price is a factor. So far, no Perturabo, though. I don't think we've seen anything from the Iron Warriors, apart from one McFarland re-paint.
lol i've never met Anyone in real life, who plays OPR... is this something you play at a store, or at your house? its hard to imagine a store would want to support a game thats based off piracy, and doesnt really sell anything. but i could see this for local clubs, playing around the kitchen table, or basement
Fortunately I got the Stormcast from the Dominion Boxset when it was still 100 USD on Amazon, so I'm sure the Stormcast from both Skaventide and Dominion would be an awesome (hopefully) combo)
ya i have the same setup now, with skaventide. i've got a few dragons too, that i've been looking forward to building/painting. so i think with skaventide, dominion, and 2x dragons, i'll have about 3,000 pts of stormcast to chose between for a nice 2k list!
ya i have the dominion set, but not the chariot, but i have a couple dragons i'm looking to build/paint. so i'm really looking forward to the stormcast!
I learned that Skaventide can be bought for more than $50 less on EBay than if you bought it at retail price. I’m definitely going with that option. Same with the Ultimate Starter Set for Warhammer 40K.
ya, you can get some really good eals, especially when GW overproduces. i've already seen skaventide selling for as low as $175 so there are def some really nice deals!
Yes, third party should always be 15% off MSRP minimum , never pay more than that unless you want to for some other reason. And I’m sure the models only skaven or stormcast half deals on eBay are pretty tempting, if you really didn’t want one side, but it’s such a good deal for the whole box I don’t see why not !
lol i was hopeful they would release an ironawz spearhead with the new models, when it was still vanguard... still waiting lol. thats why i decided on kruleboyz. i was considering gargants, but i think it might be a bit strong, so i'm going tricky swamp orruks, until the ironjawz get some love!
It is a bargain when compared to separate prices. I'm thinking about adding a vermin lord , maybe some more jezzails , for the stormcast it's gotta be the dragons and maybe some of those giant bird dog things with riders chucking spears. That's 2 armies I reckon I'll enjoy painting.
I figure with 2 copies of Skaventide, and the world is basically your oyster from that point forward, want to focus on a particular skaven clan? Pick up the relevant verminlord and a box or two of whatever else your missing and your playing a tournament this weekend with like 5 models or whatever to paint, same thing really for the Stormcast Eternals, they did a solid job of providing the core units to build out from in this deal
ya i'm a big fan. been looking for a reason to paint my dragons, this is it! i already bought a verminlord, in anticipation of this box, so sounds like we will be doing a lot of the same stuff!
the core rules are always free, and the actual rule books are a dime a dozen after the launch boxes come out. as far as battletomes are concerned, i dont mind buying them, but i understand the sentiment. its weird to think of a battletome coming out as being a bad thing, but i guess the $60 is enough to hit people psychologically. i get excited for new books, but i get why people dont want to fork up the cash every 3 years if they have a lot of armies, or dont play often. i have a ton of armies, but i play a lot, so its win win for me
Value and games workshop dont fit mate. Sure you're saving if you want both sides or have a friend to half it with, but why do that? You only get one rule book. Might as well buy a 3d printer and a regular printer for the rules and cards. It still works out cheaper to do it this way. Id much rather if these boxes had one side armies, rules, a god set of terrain and be 3/4 of the price. Sure it wont be a box set. But it will be a box that includes everything but paint for a new comer. Imagine your friend coming to play and doesn't know what to buy, ao they buy 100 different things and get overwhelmed. Now imagine they just needed to buy one box and inside that box thats labelled and presented correctly to make it easy for that new commer to get started? Oh yeah i forgot, nobody plays this game anymore, they only buy it..
price is what you pay, value is what you get. obviously since you dont play warhammer this video isnt for you. GW sells launch boxes like this, and lots of people buy one, and then swap the second army with a friend, for double the force, or 2 people just split it and play together. its actually very common. what you're talking about with a single army is called a battleforce. this is not for people who are new to the hobby, starter sets are for them, and include paints. but its very clear you're just here to talk about 3d printing, which is a hobby of its own! its funny you say "nobody plays this game anymore" but obviously you're just talking about yourself, as lots of us play. you're not a gamer, thats fine. your hobby is 3d printing, also fine. but to pretend like these boxes arent extremely good value, and very popular, or that nobody plays warhammer (literally the most popular tabletop war game on planet earth) is actually just delusional. cheers
Agents have had a resurgence and can be made into a faction without detachment. It’s likely going to be that. Really hoping they don’t short end the gaurd like they did in 9th.
they are already a faction. the codex will likely be agents/deathwatch, and they will have detachments for taking agents with requisition forces, as well as a standard deathwatch army, at least thats my guess
i've never met anyone who plays one page rules, only heard people talk about it online. we have a thriving community of warhammer 40k, sigmar, and d&d players... not one person plays OPR. i'm curious who actually plays OPR, do you have a big community of players?
@@WarHammerManMy group does. It's a group of 6 guys. The army builder app is solid and it's straight forward. I don't have any complaints especially compared to 40k. (I've played 40k since '89) I like it's streamlined play and you can play just using the app essentially
@@doshutokeshi3877 okay cool, i was always curious, because online its "really popular" but in real life, seems not to even exist. but i mostly play in stores, and at tournaments, so its not really beneficial to a store to push a game, that doesnt really sell anything. our store is cool with 3d prints, and stuff, so i'm sure they wouldnt mind, but we all just play warhammer, d&d, and whatever other games someone brings. cheers
@@WarHammerMan one page has rules for just about any army 40k including squats and votann as well as Star wars and armies of their own creation. So if I ran a store, it answers the new player question "can my friend buy stormtroopers and I buy these Wargames Atlantic dudes can we play together?" The answer is yes
its not that they "make scalpers the target market" people recognize, GW under produces a lot of stuff, and so they take advantage of it. GW is def the problem. not wanting to be "stuck with stock" is idiotic. everything shouldnt always sell out, its bad business IMO
i picked up justian, but i'm in the US. i got double of the generic intercessor, and so did a few other people. i think the "blind buy" for the extra model is always the same one. i got the impression it was random, but too many people got the exact same duplicate for me to believe its just random luck
@@RMCbreezy Yeah, and the lot codes were posted so it wasn't exactly blind box either, just go in and cherry-pick the models you wanted. Stocked up on captains and cheap eliminators.
