I hope you were able to do the update coz gamesir had to pull it due to some issues, hopefully a patched version will be out soon.
Thank you for always covering update on Gamesir G7 SE. I'm truly enjoying this controller too. I mostly use the controller for RPG, jRPG and Roguelike. I don't feel any stick drift at all, it is all crisp movement. I don't even notice the difference with 1000hz update but I'm thankful for Gamesir for continually updating their controller, how I wish other controller manufacturer does this instead of releasing a newer controller oh so often.
Hey you are absolutely right, what Gamesir is doing with the updates and the whole interface they’ve created is truly something. I think going forward I definitely need a true manual calibration option from any pro controller that comes out. I’ve got the turtlebeach stealth ultra coming on 15th, let’s see how that one stacks up against something 3 times lower it’s price point. Thanks for the support bro.
For people that really need a headset they can plug in their original xbox controller to use for the jack but make sure you plug your headset and og controller first then the g7 and it should work great
Heck yes! I've been using 1000hz for a couple of days, definitely noticing a difference. Particularly in the trigger response like you say. It's a shame for people who rely on the headphone jack, but outside of that, this is seriously great stuff. For me it's the perfect Xbox controller. Great video, very interesting details. 👍

I can’t believe how the controller feels now, I’m supposed to be recording EswapX review this week, I’ve got this thing even after 25-30 hours of testing I still play with the controller just before I shoot and I don’t want to leave the G7se 😂

Man I’m going to be making a video on my PS5 experience and how I’m a bit upset on what Sony is doing. I never made a full review of the edge as Inwas only borrowing it for testing purposes and didn’t spent enough time(usually 30-40 hours game time) with it. Now I’ve got one and realised that it’s way better than Nacon rev 5( which I gave a glaring review recently & BFG again a good review) and that’s due to edge being a 1000hz controller. Now Nacon and BFG felt really good on their own but comparing them to edge they just don’t stand a chance, and that’s not only the issue, victrix Gambit and Nacon revolution X perform really good on Xbox but Sony got to be doing something that their PlayStation controllers, although feel way more premium but don’t perform the same, and feel way off against the Sony own edge. So the video I’ll be making will just be saying only buy the dualsense edge for PS5, which is such a let down for me, coz I thought by purchasing BFG and Nacon rev 5 I could potentially make a lot of content comparing them and get more people to discover my channel, right now I feel like I don’t even want to own a PS5, but for me matchmaking experience of MW3 is way better on PS5.
I understand how you feel because I cannot play properly with a standard dualsense because of the shape and size, but I tried out a ps5 AIM controller and actually ended up liking it. So unfortunate that Sony doesnt allow us to use our ps4 controllers on ps5 games either. Your comment made me really interested in the dualsense edge, but I have already spent too much on controllers lol. Do you need windows 11 for 1000hz? Also do you need to use additional third party software to overclock the controller or can you do it on the Gamesir app?
The controller is close to perfection. Very good job Gamesir! There is little to change in my opinion. Still i'm gonna mention a few things. 1. The controller is bit smaller in my hands. Maybe need 1.5-2.0 cm more. 2. A bit softer feeling on the buttons. 3. I would like a few mm bigger D-pad 4. Triger stops
I know exactly what you mean about feeling the response time. I was always an Xbox guy until I switched to a PS5 controller n I can’t go back. You can feel the difference in how fast you move n zoom in. Especially as a sniper zooming in 3 times as fast makes a big difference.
Been a series 2 elite user for awhile now and one thing I've noticed is that when using the back paddles there is more delay than if you were to use the dedicated button(A,X,B,Y etc). I'm not sure why that is. Only time i really notice is if I'm trying to grab a loadout at the same time as a teammate. The result is they will always get their loadout first. If i use the paddle my teammate will always get priority. It seems to have extra delay/input lag. This could be why you didn't get the results you were expecting when testing. Im thinking that since the paddles are mappable to any input there is probably some extra hoops to jump through in the process

Hello great video btw. I've been facing an issue on my G7 SE. whenever I try to use a headset with it the mic volume is always too low My friends can barely hear me on party chat. The headset works normally on my 3mm jack on my PC. I even tried turning the gain to maximum and still nothing. Do you have any solutions that could help?
Very interesting video, I'm thinking of getting the dualsense edge which work with 1000hz on ps5 if I'm not mistaken. Normal dualsense is on 250hz. Have you noticed more response on the edge? I guess it's only a 3 ms input delay gain over the normal dualsense.
Hey I’m actually going to make a video about this, edge is the only option for PS5 as the others just don’t compare to its I was shocked to find out edge is 1000hz, I have BFG and Nacon rev5 which in my opinion shouldn’t even exist, coz Sony is determined to have third party controllers not perform well on PS5.

The power a fusion pro has trigger stops but the gamesir has software to change the deadzone of the triggers. And also how easy are the paddles to press (how muchforce needed) compared to the fusion pro?
Hey I replied this to your other comment. I’m playing with the fusion pro 3 right now. Trying to make a video talking about 1000hz vs others on Xbox. Fusion pro3 also has Hall effect triggers but they don’t auto adjust max deadzones at the shortest trigger stop, I did make a video showing a way to do that with manual calibration. So if max deadzone adjusted on PowerA with manual calibration the triggers are ok. Between the G7se with hair trigger option and FP3 I wouldn’t say I’d but the fusion for triggers. Saying that the 4 back buttons on fusion is a big plus, honestly changes how I play the game. Actuation wise G7se back buttons requires a bit less force, it FP3 has a nice texture on the back buttons, so usage wise both perform really well. If you are ok with only 2 back buttons, then definitely go for the G7se, honestly with the recent update it has really blown the competition away. I’ll be shooting a video talking about the response and feel on Monday, basically a bit of sharing the experience of G7se with 1000hz vs Gambit, FP3, Raikiri, Nacon rev X and EswapX. It’s not a full blown comparison but a general talk and what I feel the difference with 1000hz update.
how is this roller so far with games like Apex for example? Been using a standard ps4 controllers since 2019 lol i do also have a duelsense but i rarely use it. This pulling rate updates seems interesting
Bro I’ve never experienced the 1000hz, and apparently this is not the true 1000hz as there are some higher values in xinput test, but man the controller feels different on seriesx. The aiming feels smooth and so connected to your stick movements, not just that like I mentioned the triggers and buttons feels more responsive. DS4 controllers can be overclocked to 1000hz as well and one might argue would feel better with the normal sticks, as Hall effect sticks have a different sorta empty feel to them. To me at first I wasn’t a huge fan of HE sticks and I’ve mentioned that in a few videos that I much prefer the normal sticks feel, now though with this update things have changed for sure.
I know bro for me the T4k looks better design wise, my faceplate on the G7 and SE move too much on my hand, and honestly annoys me a lot. I’m thinking of selling all my PS5 stuff as I just realised how Sony is making third party controller work so bad on it. I wish o never bought it and the controllers for review and should’ve kept that money for a gaming PC 🤦🏽♂️

I bought the T4 Kaleib because it does have 1000hz and has real tackle buttons. Both controllers are amazing and the best out there. If and when they add two more paddles and trigger stops, there will be nothing that will compare to the feel of this controller. I'll check out going back to circle mode on my T4 Taleib from raw. I don't add any dead zones on the controller software but only in game settings. Thanks for your videos, cheers!
Before the update my G7 I limited the dead zone of the analogue to a maximum of 70% on the Nexus now after the update even more than I seven at 70% it always pulls the 100% what could it be?

Hey yes you can, I did that too just need to calibrate the controller with the new sticks attached. Xbox sticks have wider shaft so the active area will be smaller, meaning more responsive aiming. It’s actually a very good experience specially if you don’t use precision rings.
They have now pulled this update because it was causing widespread issues. I said to you in another post that the update was bad. There is no longer a polling rate option until further notice
Yeah it seems a lot of people were having issues. I only faced the stick getting stuck but that doesn’t happen if no deadzones are used in nexus. It’s a shame as the controller totally feels different and much much better, honestly it’s spoiling a lot of other controllers for me. Hopefully they can release a patch and it’s. It something where we never see this option come again.
What is now better for console the khailed flux or the g7se g7se still use the 100hz on console and the flux can that to or not ? That is my big ask for this year if flux have the 1000hz to i gonna buy the flux hope you answer me 🎉🎉🎉🎉
That’s a good question bro m, I haven’t touched the default profile at all. I have a feeling it’ll be 250 so audio is enabled through the 3.5mm. I’ll test and leave a comment.
Oh yes 100% they are a bit loose compared to Alps and Favorunion sticks. Mine developed a bit of slop as well, it I think that’s me being aggressive with them.

Hey I think Gamesir have pulled the updat efor now due to some people having issues. I'd say check your xbox games and apps page, there is an update tab which showls all the apps that have an update available, thats how I updated mine on the day it came out.

Did you change the sticks on the SE to the ones original on the xbox controller as well? I did that and started using the circular mode and its night and day better. This with 1000hz is insane

@@thephototechy To me the most similar feeling to the original controllers is Circular + swapping the Thumbsticks. This plus the 1000hz made it night and day for me. It went from an ok controller to an absolute BEAST of a controller. I've always been extremely picky with controllers and ended up playing with the original due to how used to it I was (even returned an Elite controller back in the day because I couldn't get the hang of it). I also have the same feeling as you regarding the triggers, even without stoppers they feel much faster and I secure my shots way more times in Halo Infinite. If you end up testing the thumbstick swap give us some feedback, since the originals are more thick they have less travel than the ones that come with the Gamesir SE and that seems to do some difference on the gameplay (don't forget to re-calibrate the controller again after the swap)
I think at 1000hz polling that raw works better. I tried without raw mode and it feels a bit slower. I am using the T4 Kaleib maybe that's the difference? I do have the SE version and will try that and see.
Hey so the raw mode is definiely was more responsive, prior to the 1000hz thats what I was using. I think I need to give it more time, it could be the update and MW3 just coming out that I found better result with normal mode.
I got my deadzone both at 10 i already got used to it if i switch to 0 im not gonna be as good as 10 deadzones, my only problem overall is the audio on 1000hz everythink else works good for me im testing everything about the controller, i feel like raw lower your game settings it gives you more precision
does everyone know the fixes this?? I was calibrate my controller, and I saw there were two modes ones original and mapped and I was curious to see what it does and it didn’t do anything but when I back out on the app it resume back on it I saw my report rate was gone and I went back to my calibrate mode and it was still on the mapped mod and whatever I switch it on original for some reason it’s still stuck on mapped mode. Is everyone having the same problem?
So you think they can get 1000hz with another update as some people are saying they can get 500hz with the headset plugged in? Bit of a bummer as I can only get 250hz to work with the head set in the controller
so my t4k just arrived and didnt quite like them. The face buttons are bit wobbly and the feeling is off when im pressing the “B” button. Its quite big too for my hands. Question is if i go for the Regular G7 will that be the same quality of face buttons? How does the G7 se buttons compared to nintendo switch pro controller or the ps4 ds? Are they also similar in shape?
That’s great bro, hopefully you won’t encounter that deadzone bug I’ve faced, but I prefer Nexus deadzones 0 and use in game values so didn’t bother me. People are facing different issues with the update, I think a patch would definitely be coming soon

The regular dualsense is locked at a 250hz polling rate, correct? Im just wondering how the edge has a 1000hz polling rate because I have never used one myself.
I found this controller because of your page and love it. I've read that if I want to attach kontrol freeks that I'll need to buy the PS4 version, even though this is an XBOX controller. Can anyone confirm if this is true?
The headphone jack being disabled I believe might just be temporary. Because when switch the report rate it starts with WIP, unless it means something else that usually stands for work in progress so maybe the headphone jack can be re enabled with 1000hz in a future update.
Hey that makes sense, hopefully they can enable that. I didn't realise how many people rely on the 3.5mm port, even though every third party controller doesn't match elite series 2 audio performance on xbox. Thats the reason I bought the Astro mixamp pro tr, so I could play with my favourite controllers with good audio.

Heyy Techy, I also have the problem with the drift. When playing an Fps and I move it in a direction it gets stuck out in that direction. It is on both sticks, is it because of the update or because of the game im playing that also just updated. It wasn't like that before both the updates
I think the update is messing some stuff for sure, I’d say make the minimum deadzones 0 in nexus and use hair trigger options. I don’t use minimum deadzones in nexus anyway so playing wise was not an issue, but whilst testing I realised it’s getting stuck at times but not with 0 deadzones.

Hey bro personally in 250hz the G7se was not my most used controller. The aiming feels a bit different, the 1000hz really made go to on Xbox. Right now I’m putting a lot of time with Kaleid, but before EswapX and G7se were my main controllers on Xbox.
@@nikosniteros3619 with other third party potentiometer controllers it can be, but with HE controllers I didn’t feel more connected than elite series 2, until the G7se 1000hz. There are other controllers like stealth ultra and snakebyte that can feel better at 250hz, but they have a lower resolution than G7se, which might make them feel a bit more snappier.
Hey are you on 6.28 firmware? Also have you done any tests on hardware tester game pad section? If the sticks aren’t calibrated properly you can get a strange response. After the 6.28 update I’ve seen one bug with minimum deadzones messing the sticks a bit, so definitely use 0 minimum and 100 max with raw disabled. If there is drift at rest position then use in game deadzones.
Currently have T4 Kaleiid on PC. Since the firmware update my controller is done for. I even bought a brand new one and have same issue. I have the deadzones set to 0 in the T4 app but when in game (warzone) it feels like i have over 20 deadzone on. In game is also on 0 deadzone. I feel like the firmware update has bricked these controllers
Hey have you check the calibration of the controller on gamepd tester? I’ve never used the Kalied as I’m only on console, but I’ve had some calibration issues that I was able to fix via manual calibration.

You makes very informative videos. Would you recommend the g7 se or the pdp rematch? If you recommend the g7 se, propably i would use 500mhz because if i would use 1000mhz the audio over the monitor, maybe its not synchron with the real scene i dont know.
Hey so currently there is no audio on 500 and 1000 on G7 and G7se, but it looks like we might get it at some point but its not a given. rematch can be overclocked on PC to 500 and G7/g7se will be able to do higher response on xbox. To me personally if one can afford then definitely look at the G7 or G7se over the rematch.

On my ordered (actually not arrived) monitor unfortunely i do not have audio output, but i will get a Display Port USB Adapter and then i can pull my FIIO BTR amplifier, i hope that would working, but still the ordered monitor is not arrived. What should you think, is it possible a difference audio/controller latency with this option? Rarely in your video you explained with 500mhz the audio is work.
Anyone having the issue where both of the sticks on the g7 se would sometimes stop at any point instead of recentering by itself, like when i let go of the stick, it stays at any area instead of going back to 0.0002, but after i press onto something, it goes back to the center (0.0002), strange behaviour..
Hey I showed this happening my to me towards the end of the video. If I disable the deadzones in nexus to 0 this doesn’t happen, I’ve always disabled the deadzones in nexus and used in game numbers as required, hope this helps.
@@thephototechyoh i just realised, i had that problem on the LT and RT button not staying on 0 after pressed, i immediately downgraded from 1000hz to 250hz, and it gave me 0 issues so it fully fixed the problem
Hey so it depends on your chosen deadzones. I keeo nexus minimum to 0 and use in game of 2-3, this leaves a very slight drift with raw off, if I use raw mode then I’ll have to increase the deadzone by 1. Depending on your preference you might prefer one over the other. Raw mode will give you a slightly higher register per increment, so if you find recoil control difficult or aim feels a bit slow to start, then using raw mode or even getting Xbox plastic replacement sticks will help.

Hey I personally love the galaxies and you’ll need the PS4/PS5 ones for this. I haven’t tried other ones coz locally galaxies were the only ones available that were authentic. Im problem with kontrolfreeks is the fake ones, I’ve bought a few times from online and they are definitely fake, as the difference is huge compared to the original.
i think they just removed it, probably people were having issues. a shame because it was making my 30 fps rdr2 console experience a little more bearable, but I guess I can wait another 6 months.
Has anyone noticed an issue where input in one direction takes more or less movement than a different direction? For example, when I am aiming, I hardly have to use any effort to aim left. However, to aim to the right, it takes more movement of the stick than it would the other direction to aim as far. Think maybe a software issue? Or bad thumbstick?
hey bro I showed a bug I noticed where the stick was getting stuck due to minimum deadzones in nexus app. I'd recommend using 0 minimum deadzones in nexus and also do a manual calibration, hope this helps. Also if you figure it out with a different method, plese share, thanks.
I noticed that the problem that happens on 8:08 is because of the 1000Hz. Have you find any solution for that? when I turn it down to 500hz it is not happening at all.
Hey so I’ve always since day one kept my deadzones to 0 in nexus and when using it this way the issue is not present at all. This stick being stuck is only happening when minimum deadzones are applied, so I noticed it whilst testing the controller but For actual game didn’t have an issue as I don’t use minimum deadzones in nexus. I think Gamesir has taken the update off and probably going to release it with a patch.

I'll just drop in here as well, that in Rocket League the Raw mode is super useful, cos you need to be able to hit 100% values for flip cancelling consistently, so it helps that the 'circularity' is cropped at top and bottom! (With a perfect circle one would have to be super precise with those stick angles, wich is unlikely in the game-s rush!) So it is nice to have the option!
yeah if they increase the value the deadzone can reach to 100% diagonally w the raw deadzone itd be square deadzone on console which is amazing for rl as its what all the freestylers use lol

Gone through MULTIPLE controllers, 99% due to stick drift, so really hoping these Hall effects do the trick and hold up 🤞🏼Plus the additional settings options seem like they’d be beneficial as well. I have the normal g7 and One thing I noticed is 250hz and 500hz work with no problems but when I put it to 1000hz sometimes the triggers won’t fully go to 100% they will get stuck at something like 93 98 %for example and after pressing them they also sometimes stay pressed down at 7 to 9 % and the weird thing is when it’s stuck at those if I move my thumb stick or press any other button it goes back to 0%. It only does this on 1000hz 500zh works perfectly just like 250hz
Hey so something is bugging out, I’d say leave the controller in the 1000hz profile and do a calibration. I updated my G7 and did a recalibration and everything works great, but I’m using hair trigger option with 5 min and 90 max for triggers. Also try 0 deadzones for the sticks, for me having any minimum deadzones was causing an issue, see if this helps, hopefully Gamesir is on the case and fix the issue soon.
It’s got to be a bug I tried changing it to 1000hz and manual recalibration but it still did the same thing but it’s fine on 250hz or 500hz hopefully it gets fixed because I really liked the feel of 1000hz but it would make my gun shoot without me doing anything sometimes because of the glitch

@hisuku1 I'm have the regular G7 and my headphones are the Astro A10 first gen . When the headphones are connected that's when I use the software and switch to a 1000hz and headphones works fine tried unplugging to see if it would disconnect but once connected n it still works.
@thephototechy looking forward to your review of the stealth ultra ... looks like a beast. Maybe it's a batch thing, but I do have to had that a few weeks ago I did roll back my controller's software version to an earlier one using a computer and just used the default version that was on my xbox without updating the software don't know if that can help with anything.
Hey either a wireless headset or something like the Astro mixamp pro tr and steelseries gamedac gen 2. My personal recommendation would be to find a used Astro mixamp, that’s what I’ve been using or go for a wireless headset.
