Listen people, this was launch game for the PS3, of course it isn't going to impress now. But if you were playing back in 07, and had just come from a ps2, then I can tell you this was a hugely impressive game.
I don't know, I'm pretty impressed by it having just started it recently. I think Insomniac does a better job than most on their visual design/art direction though. Which is what I think carries it.
nookie077 I agree. It was awesome and way ahead of its time. Considering, how old it is now. RFOM still out shines a lot of the crap that comes out these days. For a launch game back then... it was brilliant imo.
This game was good for its release date. At the time it had great graphics, lest we all forget what the PS2 looked like... And while the gameplay wasn't revolutionary it was a solid shooter with a unique setting and a cool story. There was a lot to like, and it was a great intro to the PS3 for a lot of gamers.
This game is still solid and looks great in 2022. Playing it on my laptop screen via elgato. Impressive stuff considering it's from 2006. Forgot how much of a doom style shooter it is, pretty frantic.
This game is my early ps3 child hood so amazing, and the graphics were great for 06, they were better than halo 3's for sure, this is maybe one of my favorite stories too
Just bought this game: 3 bucks. Holy damn. I also bought Resistance 2 for 10 bucks. Weird thing is, the Resistance "Dual Pack", which has 1 and 2, is 25 bucks!
Your health does recharge in this game, it runs on a partial recharge system, where your health is split up into four quarters, and can regenerate one quarter of health given enough time and so long as your health doesn't drop beneath that specific quarter.
@michaelbryant21 Yeah man, I know, these games are so incredibly underrated, but the few people who play or used to play it always did some stupid shit like using the broken guns (like that rocket launcher you mentioned) or enabling that 1 hit kill that I was talking about, and just sniping and throwing hedgehogs everywhere...
My first PS3 fps, loved it :3, got the skull suit for mp, and I was BEAST on the snipers, I was on the clan Mr. with that god of a player D_A_R_K. I was SergioF_pt and then I became SergioSource (like I am now lol)
I bought this last week and I don't remember the aiming controls being R3 for toggle aim, is there a way to change it??? I didn't have a problem with in-game graphics, just the cutscenes(so it really didn't matter to me) but this game was the first game that I fell in love with with ps3.
well...sine everyones here, how bout we all re-live Resistance 1 and play it the right way (no 1hit kill option u guys talking about) why am i asking this? cuzz im buying Resistance 1 & 2 for Resistance 3 xDD
I still have this game. Too bad it doesn't have trophies though, and also the online community is half dead. When I'm lucky enough to find a server with a decent amount of people, they have that bullshit 1 hit kill option turned on, I fucking hate that shit. Oh well... It was good while it lasted. When people played it right, I mean, let me rephrase that, when people actually PLAYED IT, it was a fantastic game.
Fun game back in 2006, but it's ages horribly. Even for a launch PS3 game, the graphics were bad, and the checkpoints were horrible. The Auger and Bullseye guns were the only good thing about it.
Garbage selection of weapons, most under powered, the ones that are good like the auger never had ammo. A.I always rushed, so i found myself "sprinting" to a checkpoint to advance what little help of allies i had.
