I have yet to beat Resistance 2. There are so many great games coming out this year. This game looks freakin sweet. I will be picking this one up for sure.
I just finished this and was compelled to come on here and say this is easily the best game I've ever played. Play it on a big tv with a good home theatre and its a damn fun immersive journey.
Just finished Killzone 3 and was blown away by the addictive gameplay and the best visuals ive ever seen in a game. I wonder if Resistance 3's visuals is on par with that of Killzone 3 and more importantly if it's as fun to play?
@VulcanXL Halo is a total different shooter. It's a really good game aswell, but Resistance 3 adds this survival horror feel, a lot of variation in missions, and fun to use weapons. Have you played Resistance 3's campaign?
@GratefulDeadCCR Definitely. R3 is unique and one of the best games I have ever played. Usually I just tag along and play FPS but R3 is my favorite Shooter right next to the first BioShock. Anyone with a PS3 needs to play this game.
@GregandEllisGaming Resistance 3 has an amazing campaign. The story is set in the 1950's and has a lot of dramatic and survival horror aspects. This game looks more like a more serious version of Gears of war but First Person. I bought this for the campaign. Multiplayer is a lot of fun though, but it needs more polish. Like i said, don't judge a game before you played it. This is nothing like Halo games.
And i'm saying this as a Killzone 3 fan, also waiting for Bf3 and Mw3. Still, Resistance 3's campaign is a must buy, no other Shooter can compete with it.
@VulcanXL I know, but what i like about Resistance 3's campaign is that it has something very different than any other shooter. Halo is amazing aslwell though.
Resistance was THE original ps3 game for me.. sweet memories! i'll be getting this and wwe 12 and cod mw3, im coverage wwe 12 till release! Check it out if you want the coverage
I'm kinda disappointed that the amazing class based co-op from Resistance 2 isn't returning here. I was in love with that mode. :( Hopefully they'll bring it back in DLC though.
@redlightning0001 Resistance 2 was great fun to play with friends. The lag on the game was odd, always situations of 2 people killing each other with regular guns, it was awkward and clunky but a genuinely fun game to play and it made a difference from all the typical WW2 FPS games. I'll probably buy this but with Gears 3 out next week and soon BF3 and MW3 round the corner I can't see this game getting too much hype. I guess it's smart to release it first for impatient people.
They only put in like 10 seconds of MOVE gameplay. In case anyone was wondering, the move works great with this game after you get used to it (which takes about an hour) and after that I was actually a little better playing with the sharpshooter (I got the doomsday edition) than the dualshock 3, and playing a FPS with an actual gun is unmatched in the video game industry. P.S. You need to play around with the settings on the move to make it function effectively. IE deadzone and aim sensitivity.
I'm glad they brough back the co-op with a real campaign. I was pissed that wasn't an option in Resistance 2, though it IS a shame the class-based Co-op isn't an alternative option as well. Still, I played the Demo and this looks to be the best one of the 3 games so far!
Hey, just want to ask. I never played Resistance 1 or 2 but played Resistance:Retribution on PSP. Would it be as fun without playing the first two series? Should I buy it? Thanks.
What's with people hating on R3? It's a great game, better than 2 IMHO. it'll never be like R1, but it's a worthy sequel and worth the price. I'd give it a 9/10, as my only gripes are no online co op with strangers and a fairly short campaign, but everything else is spot on
@plugarusebyanimator1 It is the most fun game I have played in my life. A lot of people have said things like "there are too many FPS games these days" but Resistance3 is a shooter that differentiates itself from all of them in a well manner because the gameplay works so well. Theres so much variety in the gunplay that the game just never gets old. If you want, check out my Resistance 1 and 2 review, a lot of what I said in those reviews apply to Resistance 3 as well.
@MrAdrianAslani I played a bit of R1 and the lifebar pissed me off in that too. Its not THAT bad but regenerating health thats in most shooters I just prefer
@danielholgaard Probably not so much anymore. All you need to know is there is an invasion, and by the time it's this game the humans have practically lost. This game follows the story of a new character introduced in Resistance 2. Read a plot summary on wiki or something if you want to be sure. You haven't missed too much.
This is how Shooters should be, Non regen health, awesome creative wepons and enemys and no wepon limit. It's a shame this game didn't do as good as it shoould have.
@ChaoticSorceror Honestly, WHAT THE HELL WAS INSOMNIAC THINKING???? Taking out the coop mode. I heard nothing but praise for it and it was extremely well populated.
It's the most polished game in the series, the single player is the most structured and intense, as you really get a sense of survival rather than war in this resistance, The singel player is the strongest point of this resistance, but lacks in multiplayer compared to say Resistance 2 (In my opinion).
There is still many people playing it online, I got it yesterday, and played online for the first time at 5am in the morning, and entered a full lobby, I would say there is more people playing Resistance 3, than Killzone 3.
It's a shame such a fine piece of true quality get's underestimated by gamers and overshadowed by real hyped games... I hope Sony can fix this issue. People need to play this game, it's a big suprise.
sorta, i started playing the multiplayer today and it wasnt difficult to find a game but i dont think there is enough people to fullfill more than 3 or 4 servers i think. anyway its reeeally fun
@cheng269 ehhh, it's all personal preference. R3 is one of the few fps , or really shooters I enjoy. Whereas I don't care for gears at all. Complaining about bias in a reviewer is pointless, because it's all opinion, and bias is impossible to avaoid. That's part of my problem with number scores: games you personally enjoy are so much different from others. I think reviews should just be: I enjoyed/didn't enjoy it, here's why, like a certain yahtzee does.
Resistance 3 did a great job the game felt and controlled more like Resistance Fall Of Man. Resistance 2 I didn't like and was too cheesy (America F*** YEAH!!) also it felt like COD is many way. So its good to see a great deal more focus on the single player campaign and going back to what made the game great.
you would think that by now, most people would have both ps3 and xbox 360 so why does this flame war go on? i just picked up resistance 3 today and i will get gears 3 in 2 weeks.
For those who were caliing this another generic First person shooter, hahahah you were SO wrong :) Don't judge a game by looking at some trailers or gameplay. I have played a lot of FPS in the past years, but this game has without a doubt one of the most impressive thrilling, campaigns and stories ever in a FPS. And i didn't even mention it's fun multiplayer. This is more than just shooting, taking cover and watching cutscenes. Till this day, no other FPS's campaign is no match with R3.
@Kazuia20 There's definitely a noticeable difference between the two, I still like Killzone but just imagine how great it would look if they sacrificed some things.
Thats mostly what I play is shooters, and some RPGs. lol Heavy Rain, that sounds familiar but I don't think I've played that. I'm gonna go look it up. :)
