The answer you probably want is that once the IC is close enough, surface tension of the molten solder pulls it the rest of the way. That in itself doesn't guarantee all balls got connected, but there are a variety of inspection techniques, including cameras with fiber optic "snouts" that can get a look under the IC, and also X-ray cameras that look through the IC from top to bottom.
@nicolasolton a mosfet is a simple high-current transistor responsible for allowing the switching of high current circuits using low-current controllers. I.e. you can get a mosfet rated for 30A, and switch it on and off using a micro controller whose output is only rated for a few hundred mA. A power management IC does a whole bunch of things depending on what specific chip it is. Their function can range anywhere from sequencing power delivery to providing power measurement, safety switching, and more. When these chips go bad, they will cause the board they control to behave completely dead, so you have to replace them.
I love all your short videos! Great work as always 👏 love the extra flux! People complain but extra sauce never hurts anything any it always comes out clean! Plus I saw the ugain is not that expensive so im going to get some to try it out. Have you tried Mechanic SD360 flux? If you did would you say its the same? I have some of that laying around.
@f1lab535 I love the ugain flux. I finally got some in the other day. I love that it's thick, I wish it came in bigger bottles, but I guess for the price, it's not so bad depending where to get it from. I got mine for $10 on eBay. It might be my new go-to flux for everything.
He should not. Lol, this repair actually wasn't half bad (although still misusing solder paste) but god damn there some absolutely awful repairs from this channel.
@@akashbehera3512 It's a power management IC, it has a bunch of low dropout fixed mode regulators combined in a BGA package with some logic binding them. It delivers highly accurate and well regulated power to various other parts of the board that need to be safe from fluctuations that could create problems, like low voltage high-speed data buses where a transient power spike could completely mess up the data being transmitted. This chip makes sure that the power being delivered is always exactly what it's supposed to be, with very few and very minor fluctuations.

@@f1lab535 Very interesting thank you. In an earlier video, I saw you using a stencil to get the BGA balls on the contact. So BGA chips can sometime have balls like this one and other times not right?
