What do you use your home server for?

Im using mine T600 for machine learning object (face, person, car, dog, cat, etc) detection with zoneminder dvr, it's way faster than any processor for such task

@@kyles8524 500 usd...damn its cheaper here in india, probably around 300 usd. Its the only gpu i saw on amazon. Usually gpus are expensive here

If you're happy with that, RX 560 should be sufficient for you, it is also over $250 cheaper.

Yeah these aren't cheap at all, if you want cheap buy a second hand Nvidia Quadro K4000.

There is still a T1200, but that is a mobile GPU only ound in some Pro laptops

1060 6GB used for $300 still the best price/performance deal. 1080p medium/high 60 FPS no problem. It's still sad & desperate to pay MSRP for a 5 year old card but it's the least overpriced card for its performance in gaming, unless one manages to find a good deal on a 1660 Ti / 5600XT.

Makes me glad I bought a 5600 XT back in the beginning of 2020 for below MSRP despite the reviewers saying it's a bad card. It performs quite well even at 1440p medium high to high. Then I bought a 2070 Super for less than MSRP a few months later due the 5600 XT was needed elsewhere and the RX 570 that was in that other system got moved to the storage box... Then when the 6600 XT was released, I ended up buying one because my local Micro Center had it available at MSRP for more than a week and figured I could use it for something like mining. Nope, it went to another family member's build.

I bought a 970 about three years ago during the first mining craze for $120USD - it was a total steal at the time, most were going for $200USD+. I jumped on it because it was a steal, but figured I'd probably upgrade before too long. Three years later, and I'm hanging on to it for dear life lol. In fairness though, it's a great card, and fulfills my needs reasonably well.

@@jasonandrews7355 It was a pretty bad take for people to say that prices will not go up and to not "panic buy" PC hardware in the early days of the pandemic. I kinda want them to eat crow for that one.

Probably it's 10-20% less powerful or maybe not, cuz it has different drivers and software's that might help get more power using less energy.

It's slightly more powerful than a 1050 Ti.

Could the card's firmware be reflashed to a GTX 1650?

Down here in Sydney Aust. the GTX1650 GDDR6 is $190AUD cheaper than the T1000

t1000 is equal to a 10 percent slower gtx 1650 ddr 6 card ,,dont expect too much from this tiny card..it will play pubg pc far cry 6 with 60 fps medium to low settings

I've done 250, terrible gpu tho, with a decent gpu I would have reached 350. -Hp proliant dl380 g6, with psu, 24gb of 1333mhz ecc ddr3 ram, for 120€ -Kingston basic ssd 240gb, 40€ -GTS250 512mb gddr3, 12€ (I cheaped out on this) -2 Xeon5650, 26€ -you add in a few cables and a pair of sound isolating headphones, 60€ yeah, 250 and you have a complete system that is ready to play older titles, you can chuck in a gtx750ti for extra gaming performance, and you stay in that 350 range, I don't need it tho, I have to play some older titles before moving to a better card, and it's a fantastic platform to learn about vms and enterprise hardware without spending too much, because if you don't need blazing fast vms 12 cores and 24gb of ram even if they are slow can still be divided to create many different vms.

The time is here and I bought a very nice laptop for design work that uses this card. (Acer ConceptD 5 from 2020-2021)

seems similar to GTX 1650 D6 so I'd say they should go up to at least 1600MHz or so. The T1000's base clock seems rather conservative. Perhaps that's optimized for workstation workloads and reliability. But for gaming, the workloads are likely different, and maybe it's more about fast cores rather than a lot of them working reliably. I'd be interested to see the results of overclocking the T1000. Unfortunately, this is currently a $400 card. Regardless of overclocking results, I'm not seeing myself putting that card in my system for that price. For that, I can get an RX 6600 XT. But I can't fit that into a SFF. If I had $400 for PC upgrading, the next thing I should do is start a whole new build. But maybe the GTX 1630 will be the key to squeezing a couple more years out of my Opti 3020. We'll find out June 15.
