My mother had Gamma knife radiation. Mom started experiencing tingling & numbness around her mouth and face. The outside of her eyes would hurt. Mom started having dizziness and she would fall all the time. As months went by, her legs would go weak and she would fall. Towards the end of 5 months, she started having urinary incontinence and severe headaches. Hospitalized twice without a diagnoses. After seeing a neurosurgeon, she recommended mom to have a shunt put in bc she has hydrocephalus. Probably due to the gamma knife radiation. So many CT scans and MRI's were done and they couldn't put one and one together. I seen the results and it clearing said possible Hydrocephalus on the first MRI after the gamma knife radiation. They made her suffer for so long. Mom was walking with a walker and a assistant at all time and she just turned 65. So be aware with gamma knife radiation. I have met many people that it had made more harm then good. After her brain surgery. Mom is doing much better other than her taste buds are still off.
