Here's what I love about the recent cubicle reviews - Phil personally knows it's a very expensive cube and if he just hypes it up a little bit, a ton of new cubers would blindly buy it. They could potentially make thousands of dollars just by giving their viewers one simple lie. But they don't. I'm so glad they're being loyal to their customers in the long run and I'm sure their customers will only return the favor to them.
I think simplicity should be prioritized above all. Sure, you can have 1300 settings for your cube, but that isn’t gonna save it from being topped by other flagships
@@positivity3311 GAN used to sell cheaper and just as amazing versions of their flagship. Now its just one release per year with minor changes from the last. Almost worse than what apple is doing
Hey this is pretty late but I like how the 11m pro feels so light and fast out of the box. I just wanted to ask if the gan 13 feels like that? Or is the 12 more similar to how the 11mp feels?
@@ky9132 Out of the box, the performance can vary quite a bit on all. I think that after customization, of both tension and magnet settings, as well as lube is where these cubes really shine. It's ofc all up to personal preference, but if you like a more slick almost matt plastic feel when you turn, the G12 is the one you want (almost like a clicky keyboard but in cube form if that makes sense). The G13 smoother, but also has a bit more of a gummy suspended feel too it (in a good way) but it's due to the placement of the magnets. I think that the plastic on the 11M pro is better on the inside of the corners and edges and slicker in a way that just feels a lot better than the G13.
ive found a lot of people feel the 11m pro hits the "sweet spot" for them, for me it also hits that sweet spot for getting in the zone, the 12 and 13 have always been "not quite there" in terms of finding that sweet spot
@@ky9132the gan 12 is their best cube in my opinion. Once you hit your preferred sweet spot on that cube, it’s honestly as close to perfect that a cube can get. All subjective of course, just my opinion.
Good review, thanks. 😊 I think more options are probably better than less. Everyone is unique, and a cube that addresses that fundamental is moving in the right direction. Yes, it can be overwhelming at first, but for those with OCD, it can be the gift that keeps on giving. I'm sure GAN is paying close attention to sales, as it is the primary indicator of which direction to go next.
As always, fewer and fewer people are getting hyped for Gan's 3x3s. While the Tornado V3 is still racking up records... especially with Sean Patrick taking the OH Podium at Worlds.
got it for $62 here in south east asia. its definitely better if people also got it for that price, but still doesn't dismiss the fact that it doesn't outright beat the Gan 12 nor the current Moyu & Qiyi cubes.
Hey Phil and Cubicle-Team! I still main my Angstrom GAN 11 M Pro (and still love it) but I am thinking of getting an upgrade. Does the GAN 14 still have this overall "papery" feel, the GAN 11 M Pro had? I really love that! And will there be a frosted Version? Greetings Jonas
Thanks still breaking in my Gan 13 , which I like ,but sometimes I pull my 11pro m frosted and really like it . I might check out the 12 since the price has dropped .
@@WyattZimmerley makes sense, the 14 I got didn't have popping issues, but if you actually try to take a edge piece out it is way easier than say the 12 13 or 11
Props to GAN to continue to innovate, but I think there are other areas they can focus on without letting their marketing department dictate the direction.
Hey TheCubicle! What about the GAN 356 ME?? I emailed you guys about it but you said that it would be added soon... it's been 2 weeks. Just waiting for the cube as I can't get the GAN 14
Which version has the black internals from the marketing materials? I’m pretty much down to buy any new flagship cube that has black internals but my current one is still good enough that I’m not in the market otherwise
There's no difference between elasticity and tension. They're both the EXACT same thing. One has larger increments than the other. That's it. I don't know why reviewers don't call out cube manufacturers on this. It's nice to have, but at least call it what it is. Think about it... what exactly is being adjusted? It's the distance. That's it. Both adjustments adjust the distance. You can see this most clearly on a GAN 11 for example. The hexagons have different depths for the plastic rod to sit into. The secondary adjustments are a staircase pattern moving the spring up or down. This is still adjusting the distance the spring can travel. Same thing with maglev.
Hi if anyone could advise me I get scores between 27-40 secs and I wanna buy a really good speed cube but am basically just looking into the newest releases so should I go for the 14 or 12 or does anyone have any other recommendations ?
The internal design is like literally the same between the 12, 13 and 14. If you have the 12 or 13, theres literally no point in getting this. The 11 is a bit different, IMO the best of them all
Hardware doesn’t make much of a difference unless you average like sub 8. And the 356 XS is an amazing speed cube anyway. If Felix Zemdegs could set world records with it, you can get sub 30.
The core of the cube looks like they took the inside of a gan 12 and used an uno reverse card, because now the super long magnets are in the core, and not the center pieces. Why did they do that? What is there to gain?
Before: Gan 357 Now: Gan 14 MagLev Soon: Gan 24 MagLev Pro, Gan 356 MagLev Pro Fanmade By Me: Gan 357 UM, Gan 357 SM, Gan 357M, Gan 357 UMS, Gan 357 RS
I love how they're testing which corner magnet is stronger using the most unscientific way possible, but at the SAME FRAME the instructions are showing the difference between them lmao
I like how they took everything they learned from the GAN 13 and took the XS magnets. Its all rolled into a nice package... that costs a bank loan. Pls pin me
You know the cube is overpriced when tornado v3 + wrm v9 is cheaper than the gan 14 😅 I mean if you have the money then go for it, if not then the tornado is enough since it has all the features that the Gan has
You still need adjustment tool for adjusting the corner & edge piece magnets. I think GAN should make the edge & corner piece magnets hand-adjustable & easy-to-remove, and you don't need to remove the piece to adjust it. Even making it so that the edge & piece magnets are adjustable using GAN adjustment tool (fire hydrant?) without removing the piece would introduce a brand new feature.
Depends on personal preference, the 11 has a crispy feel that I usually like, but at the same time, it is a little too light for this and finding the right lube and settings that complement it's characteristics is a lot harder than on the 12. The 12 is just way too smooth and way more forgiving than the 11, and that's exactly how I like a cube. That's what I love in the 2019 WR M and the Tornado v2 as well. But as much as I love those cubes, the 12 is both smoother, stabler and more forgiving.
