I have no idea how Dayan managed to keep the same weight while adding the extra magnets. Maybe the core and spring assembly are lighter? Heck, even GAN managed to add very little weight, extra impressive considering it also includes MagLev. I'm really thorn on saying which one I prefer the most as I've stopped practicing Megaminx a while ago and only got back to it very reccently. I remember finding the Dayan V2M more stable than the first GAN and I still find it a bit more stable than the new GAN, but I'm more comfortable with the GAN as the Dayan tend to slip more easily if I'm not careful. Also worth pointing out: while externally the new megaminx is very similar to the old one, internally there are some very noticeable differences on the edges and corners. Probably GAN made adjustments to make it more stable, as lots of people constantly praised the Dayan for it's stability. The new adjustment system is a big plus, the old one was not something that I wanted to mess with. 😂 Also, looks like Sengso released a new Megaminx that looks a lot more like the GAN and Dayan models, very different from the older, very weird looking one they had. The few people that tested it seemed to like it, but still think the Yuhu is better. The main benefit it has is that it's super cheap, so it might be a nice alternative for people who want to try Megaminx but are not willing to spend too much on their first one.
