People: AHHH I LOVE THE XS YEEEEEE me: yeah well no MY PERSONAL REVIEW ON THE XS I’m kinda in the same place as J Perm was about the GAN 460. So many people love it, but the best factor for me was the customization and colo(u)r shades. Turning was alright, but corner cutting killed this cube for me. I use roux, so I rely heavily on slice turns, which you’ll need a cube with good corner cutting. The XS has very below average cutting, and even though it was so effortless to corner cut where it did, this did not save slice turns for LSE. The best “screw” setting for me was like 3 or 4 (I forgot), but it still isn’t the best. 1 could barely corner cut a piece, and 6 was too unstable. The spring system was fine. I also didn’t notice the frosted finish :P The magnets were too strong for me. I like to have magnets in my cube, but not to the point where it’s overpowering. Strongest magnets were way to strong for my liking and made turning and slices unsatisfying, middle was the same as strong but less intense, and the weak setting is well fine but still a bit too strong for me. The honeycomb/hexagon piece design is well debatable. Lube is spread evenly, but dust can easily collect there, making cleaning this cube kinda a chore. Weight was the best So overall, my rating? 7.0/10 I’m glad that GAN’s flagship met the community with love and support, and I don’t find anything wrong with that. I do think GAN did do a great job for their flagship, but is it good for me? No. This is all my opinion and is to be taken lightheartedly.
I like thai food I use roux aswell and The M-Slices are absolutely amazing. I have my cube on setting one on the light blue piece, and the third click on the spring compression. My lse suffered a bit on strong magnets, but became really good when I switched to medium (weak magnets made the cube too unstable) What do you average btw?
Albus Dumbledore The RS3M 2020. It performs amazingly well (better than some flagships), and is only 9 USD. People have switched from the Gan XS to the RS3M 2020 because of how good it really is.
I prefer the customization system of the X because I prefer the feeling of it and I prefer having the physical pieces so I know what I like all the time in case my current one dies and I can just change it quickly to what I like
Sir can you please tell that which cube i should buy between gan 356 xs or gan 356 x .please choose one cube.sir can you please tell me one more thing which is the quietest between x and xs. Please reply sir.
the x is more buttery and feels more compact compared to the faster lighter flimsier feel of the xs. i do just as good on both so it’s really just preference
i have a gts 2m n I would like to buy my first gan. will I get used to the light weight? should I buy the x instead? I would like a stable and kinda fast cube.
love how my main is the yuxin little magic m and i would love to have the xs does the slight frosted plastic even do something for your solves because when they talk they make it seem like a bad thing
It's not necessarily a bad thing. Some people like the grip, some don't. A lot of us are old-fashioned, so some believe that the frosted surface isn't necessary.
Idk if it’s my settings but my xs’scorner cutting is really bad, it takes a lot of effort to cut 45 and sometimes doesn’t cut at all. My settings are 2 for the tension and 4 for the spring compression.
The XS looks very fragile like its gonna break after a while if you turn too rough since or drop it from high up, it has a plastic core and tiny tiny plastic instead of a screw in the centers.. im very sceptical about getting an xs over an x
Im gonna mod my Gan X by putting strong ges in front, weak in the back, strong magnets on the left, weak ones on the right and no magnets on the top. Thats MY configuration. Lets see how that works
It was just a joke i didnt try that yet BUT i did try putting only 1 or 3 magnets and rest no magnets and it felt pretty interesting. Like a weaker magnetic version despite fact that some turns probably didnt have any magnet at all and some all 3, most of time it was balanced and had atleast 1
Duneth Ranaweera stickered may look nice, and if you like stickers I would get that. But in my opinion stickerless is better because there are no stickers that can fall off and I think it looks better I'm getting the xs for christmas so I will try to make an unboxing video It it really up to you but would recommend stickerless
Not an expert but, i watched many videos and i would say no. It is still a debate whether or not the X is better and there are many opinions. Personally i think that the XS is superior, but definitely not worth the upgrade from an X. The main difference is the wieght and the customization. If you can't find a good setup for you X maybe. But if you did, and i think you did, than it is only the weight that is more advantageous as many people consider the X as the more "buttery smooth" puzzle. Hope i could help!
