Cant say it enough Theo, thank you brother.. its been a hard year, tomorrow is my 30th birthday, this time last year the woman i thought i was going to spend the rest of my life with left me after i found out she was cheating on me.. ive been gone this last year.. just spaced out. Lost my job and all sense of myself and self worth,. Its been dark. Hard. But listening to you,. Other comedians. Really does make these dark days brighter. Happy Birthday to myself.. ive never felt special on my birthday.. this one feels different.

Whether or not your mom wanted him in your life, he made the conscious decision to leave you out of his all this time. That being said; another man loved your mom enough to take care of you and raise you as his own. Love him just like you always have, but never forget that you came from a different place. @@nicholaslang6187 thank you. Many have a lot but lack happiness. What we all lack is meaningful connections. Independence is so important but we forget that independence doesn't mean/never equalled alone and/or unable to have attachments to community but that's not focused on at all so we go about achieving and accomplishing and acquiring stuff that were told is what signifies success but later discover that some holes can't be filled w awards, degrees, things, power, etc. That's because we are connected. To God, earth, re ach other and when we don't nurture and preserve and respect that basic truth those connections fade, get damaged or are lost and then we're just alone. Poor and alone. Rich and alone. I'm lost and alone. You're strong as well my friend. I hope we pray we both find our way back to belonging because then we build our own community and it makes the community at large have connections and purpose and with that we can help others and when we can give ourselves to others it completes the cycle.

Literally the first minute brought me to tears. We lost my grandfather this year, and moved my grandma in with my mom. This will be our first thanksgiving without him. It really struck me when Theo said he "wants to do the simple things, like hug my sister...". 'Cos it's not simple at all. Lost my sister 20yrs ago when I was 17 n she was 21 in a car accident n it devestated our family, and me. Now it feels weird to hug or even touch anyone, even my mum. Hugging your siblings, parents, family, friends, is not simple but very important. Critical. Don't ever take that opportunity for granted, it can literally be taken away instantly. Appreciate the ppl u love, n express that love while u can, when u can. My only advice.

My parents never hugged me after I was a toddler. I hug my kids every day and the coolest thing is, even my teenage sons have zero thoughts or shyness about hugging their papa anywhere, even in front of other kids. it took me until I was well into adulthood to realize I had missed this so much in my childhood.

That phrase has helped me most with washing paint brushes. Before I would just say screw it’s only 7 dollars for a new brush but I started washing that thing once I realized if I’m gunna cut corners here why would I think I could run something big . Maybe one day I’ll be rich enough to pay someone else to wash paintbrushes .

His random analogies give me life I didn't know I needed sometimes. A few episodes ago, he said something along the lines of someone participating in incest is gonna result in the baby being born as a hot air balloon, or a lava lamp and I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. Also, I can relate to him so much more being that were both in recovery. I'm so glad he's doing so well right now, and doing what he loves. Shit like that gives this recovering alcoholic hope for the future to keep it moving, keep pushing and aim for the stars. Just celebrated 3 years sober in September, and Theo's humor and his random shit he spews out sometimes is just enough of what I need to hear to keep moving sometimes. My Grandfather, and Stepdad passed two days after my 3 years, and it's been really hard on me lately and my family.. So thank you for all the laughs and making life worth living sometimes, you don't know how much the impact you have on others when life hits them suddenly.

Hey Theo - Whats up, Fam, Hey I just wanted to let you and the rest of the community that as of November 18th I am officially 1 year free of alcohol. I mean, I had one beer at UFC 281 at MSG to celebrate, but I don’t have any desire to drink anymore. Your podcast really got me going in the direction I needed to go and helped me realize that I could be free from alcohol and a few months into the journey, helped me feel normal about seeking help. I’ve been going to therapy for 8 or 9 months now and I’m still on the journey towards happiness, but you really inspire people and I value these solo podcasts the most. If anyone is reading this and doesn’t think they can do it, I was exactly where you were a year ago. You’ve got this. I believe in you. Gang gang.

Thanks for the content brother. Love how honest and open you are while weaving in your unique sense of humor. I got sober when I was 21 after being in and out of rehab from 16 until then. I kept it together for 5 years and then had one of those slips that’s lasted for about four years and is still going. I want to want to get sober, I know I need to, but I just can’t quite stop this time. Doesn’t seem to be much light at the end of the tunnel, but I for sure look forward to your podcast among very few other things. Enjoy the holidays!

Was so depressed I didn't even want to put this on, but you hit me in the feels and then made me laugh in probably the first 3 minutes. Didn't think the words I needed would come from you Theo, respectfully. All some of us need is just one person to be sincere. We love you Theo! These kinds of videos really help connect to each other because there are a lot of people that feel exactly the way you do about somethings. I definitely feel you on the family not giving as much affection in moments they really should've. That anger and grudge can really be so hard to get over, but we have to try. Thewo, thank you for this episode. This years been hard on my family, but we've kept hope up that things will be better. You're spot on talking about how holding on to that anger over things gives you power, but hope gives us way more power than anger does. At the beginning of this month, I was riding my motorcycle to report for jury duty when I was hit by a semi truck. I have every right to be angry at the truck driver, but I can only hope that he will take that accident as a learning experience and look for motorcycles from now on. I'm hoping that this coming year is going to be better for everyone on this planet.
