"When people think they're doing something clever, they want to believe they're out-smarting you. If you act the way they want you to act, they're happy to believe it's working." Shout it from the rooftops! I completely agree. When I see somebody using a low-tier bait against me in DS 3 (barker bomb bait, overly charged r2s with a parry tool while I'm halfway across the map, etc.) I act just like I would if I were taking the bait. This makes them giddy and then they fall into my trap and I usually wind up with a BS. Let me echo what Jinxed said - this channel has insanely good content and should have like 10x the number of subscribers.
Best thing about ds1 spells is that while you have to invest stats, you dont have to invest gear so much as 2 and 3. You CAN make a damage oriented wizard with Crown of Dusk and Bellowing DC, but you dont HAVE to. My build runs 40 int and is basically your normal Havels/FaP melee affair, just with spells. Pursuers/DB/Dark Orb still get great damage with just the crystal catalyst, but the spells are really just there for the tech. It's even worth keeping the oolacile catalyst on right offhand for an extra weaker pursuers. What's especially fun is casting dark orb in people's faces, catching them when they panic roll thinking its Bead. In both 2 and 3 spells are pretty bad unless you dump your whole build into it.
I hope your channel grows, your content is very informative and allows me to really get inside your mind and allow me to understand why you did certain things instead of just seeing it and trying to absorb it. Keep up the good work and I can't wait for your future content
New to your channel, I like your builds and tips. Also i'd already subbed by this point but as soon as I heard Nujabes and Shing02 I knew it was a good decision. Nice one man :)
3:39, so it was you i killed me even through i was nice and didin't attacked you. I WILL REMEMBER YOU, YOU CANNOT HIDE FOREVER !!! also nice video ;) ( i was LeeroyCyrodil btw )
I run my Sorc as a Sorc/Pyro combo with a mix of Black Flame, Dark Bead, Crystal SS, Pursuers, and Great Chaos Fireball, the pursuers bait that forces them to roll into you lets you basically get a free GCF off and often one-shots players on my build, keeping your back turned and staggering them with black flame so the pursuers hit is also a good combo, I sometimes run homing crystal soulmass over crystal soul spear so that I have a stand-in spell when pursuers runs out, also, I tend to run dark bead to cover a large radius in front of me and catch opponents with low HP. I normally run the Velka's Rapier, Moonlight Butterfly Horn, or a Furysword for the rare GMB user or just a bit of variety, I also run a magic infused composite bow with moonlight arrows, which is a really nice option to have around for runners, as you can snipe kill them if you have a clear line of sight, not that relevant in the forest, but I've made it work. Also, when someone is using the Silver Talisman, the option to use normal sorceries or pyromancies as my build does works well, as baiting someone into using the talisman with pursuers and then nuking them with Great Chaos Fireball while they're stuck in the animation is really nice.
I like the synergies between different magic types; that's something I haven't experimented with at all and it sounds really strong. I've been trying to get bows to work for a while without a ton of success, but might keep labbing that too. Cool stuff!
I also had an idea for a faith/pyro that could be pretty powerful due to the addition of WoG, and possible mixing of Power Within and WoG, the Composite Bow is generally a nice thing to have around as it has good draw speed and high damage on most builds, quality build at +15 or crystal with large arrows, and on magic or faith builds with magic and divine infusions with moonlight arrows, or go with base stats to use and a chaos infusion with fire arrows, poison arrows and the option to poison in general is also a really good thing to have around for putting pressure on the opponent, drawing the bow and then swapping out to a shield is also a solid parry bait for rolling attacks, although a lot of good players will expect it.
I use something quite similar at level 50 using ooacyle catalyst. Only 19 int, is enough to have 3 orb with homing soul mass, spam spells till they get close and kill with a great combustion/black flame help with the ring of the wolf. I invade in Anor Londo and the win rate will be over 90%, but I don´t level the character to a meta level because I was afraid the build won´t be useful due to the slow cast of the spell due to the low dex. What is your experience in that point?
Great video I use to play the Dark souls series all the time on the ps3-ps4 but now on pc and just reinstalled it. Wow the game is still busy honestly guys I'm lv 39 and finding coop play, invaders and Moon knights those b@st#rds won't let me invade for free lol my build is a strength-endurance fast roll with a scythe lightning and ornstein spear+5 it's also lightning. It's so much fun! I completed elden ring anyway so just enjoying the vibes. I've done elden ring on chaos ending and good ending. Waiting for DLC!! My old exp with dark souls 1 was never go past lv 120 otherwise you'll be lonely forever and never see coop play. People generally stayed at lv.60 or 120 abd that's it. I was lv.290 on ds1 once and never had coop and according to ds1 wiki back in the day nobody went past 120 anyway. On elden ring it doesn't matter you can go upto lv 250 and still find alot of people
Hello, just wanted to thank you for the quality and comprehensive nature of your build videos. I find them really useful and the measured approach you employ makes your obvious knowledge easy to digest and learn from. So thank you. Have you made similar videos for DS3? If you haven't do try. It would seem DS3 is far from dead. Chase the bro, FighterPL, Prod, Saint riot and many more still out out tonnes of content.
Glad you like it! I've been thinking about going back to DS3 in the future; I made a little bit of content when the game first came out but haven't played it much since. Definitely something I'm considering :)
The MLGS is pretty fun at low levels(meaning 60, lower than that with min req means low health). I've got a build with 28 int, no spells but compensated with high health and a magic composite bow/moonlight arrows. 385 ar doesnt look like a lot considering it's a gs but when you consider it's all magic damage, and the mag defense of most builds isnt great, but I keep a lightning falchion in the second slot for quick damage as well.
I have been loving using the mlgs and the okizeme with it is pretty good but it does suffer from 60 fps and it's a lot more powerful on the ps3 and 360
How do you people do "builds"? Like, how do you guys level up so fast to experiment? I want to experiment with builds but there is such a huge time investment that factors in with building them that scares me away.
There are a couple of "illegitimate" options to speed things up. Cheat Engine is perfectly reasonable to use in my opinion, as long as you don't do anything you can't already do in the game. You can download save files that have characters with souls + items already on them and customize that. I like to go through the game on a low-level character, saving souls the entire time, and then back up that save file so I can load it up and have a template to use. Regardless of how you do it, I would definitely not recommend trying to level up every single character you use to 100 manually. How you do it really depends on what you think is or isn't "cheating".
I’m total shit at dark souls and honestly just want to make this build cause it looks good but I can’t figure out what gear is on half the time and Idk I guess I just gotta look up pyro armors
There's a method you can do to level up quickly... first get 20.000 souls abd go to Andre the blacksmith in the old church and buy the key.. 2nd go to the forest door open it and then find the steps to the left... that's a boosting area for getting 7k souls every 2 mins early on.. so next just round up the human enemies in the forest and run to the left of the steps and let them climb over you and gall of the map.. You'll be in the corner holding ypur shield up so they fall.. it's an easy 7k every 2 mins or more. It doesn't work everytime sometimes they don't fall correctly abd can attack you but it does work.. I went from lv.20 to lv.39 in 30 mins.
Also the build is an intelligence build.. So start as an astrologer.... get all spells in the game from no on.. 2nd don't worry about armour it doesn't matter much anyway just the weapon as you'll find armour later anyway you just need to be under 30 in weight or under 50 with medium carry abd a good roll.. so to get the mii light great sword you simply attack seathe the scale less tail.. do this solo versus the boss later on to guarantee it drops.. and that's it.. oh the helmet is an item you find anyway but later on so dw. The build is easy to do but there's better builds anyway.. for an easy mode completing most of tbr game you'll want the graveyard sword. It can do 300 damage at lv 17 not kidding. Search on RU-vid how to get the graveyard sword ds1... also in dark souls you only iut the wrapon stat requirement such as 16s and 14d you wouldn't need to go past that unless it's got a scaling of A-S .. in strength builds you go upto the soft cap of 40 so it's fine. In elden ring it's 20 though
