shit was so good live, seeing how GAO really picked up pace during the first couple games and nearly got the comeback was amazing. good shit to all parties involved.
@@Diorphe as advertised , the unstoppable force vs the unmovable object, both players really showed their playstyles and at the end of the day was incredibly entertaining
Those delayed playercards really sneak up on the walkouts eh. This is so sick. Also, as a first time watcher, I appreciate the commentary helping to build the bridge so I can understand the game on the appropriate level
love these events and love this format and presentation, the lead in videos are so helpful for showing these to people unfamiliar with not just the players but the games and people can go into it already invested
Damn that was dope, makes me want to learn CvS2. Gotta motivate some friends to hop on Fightcade. EDIT : I'd love an ICFC special for KOF98/2002 in the future!
I had watched this on Bas' stream when it was going on, but I wanna say thanks to both of you for putting this together, and I love your speech at the end Obama! "We in a bunker right now! Grown men crying over a video game! Running sets!" I fucking love it, all the respect brother
i am so grateful for old fighting games that have hd presentation and active high level play along with rollback. No matter how disillusion i get with the new stuff it is comforting that i can always keep playing those titles i love.
Yo, i just want to say sincerely thank you Obama and everyone who made this happen. I’m one of the DBFZ/Strive FGC toddlers, so I’m not going to pretend to have any cred. But some of these old games, especially CVS2, are just straight magical to watch. The way they look and sound played at the highest level is something else. Keep it alive! WE OUT HERE!!
Godlike performance from both players. UWB is the most patient man I've ever seen. Nobody would look at Geese whiffing buttons in their face like that and not stick their hand in the blender. And those JDs from Gao were ridiculous.
Amazing once again, so glad I got to see it live and contribute. Thanks for all the work you put in Obama it really shows it went off without a hitch. It would be super cool to see some more Melty Exhibs, they are so hype and there are so many more characters we could see for hype matches. But at the same time whatever you decide to do next its going to be sick, I never herd of CVS2 before this and this was sick as fuck so go off brother we're here for the ride.
a little bit late, but i watched this live and just want to say thanks for putting this together, obama: you, rizeben, bas and the rest of the crew. i hope you keep putting together fun events like these in the future and a special icfc event for the spring. i don't really care about the games represented going forward, i trust in you guys putting something special together. ps: here's hoping that the pandemic will settle down after the winter (winter for you guys) and allow for gatherings in tokyo... hell, even some international travels for events for you. i know how you talked about wanting to travel a bit to see some more local scenes. cheers, brother!
im a smash guy, but i saw a clip of your comms on fate codes and goddamn are your comms a breath of fresh air to discover for the first time in this day and age. it seems like a lot of old vods are nuked for good but im scouring what i can find lmao youre a legend. you are the epitome of what good "esports" commentary is to me "NICKI MINAJ I SEE U GURL"
That Saint Seiya intro got me feeling ways. Watching this set live was a rollercoaster, big props to everyone involved, specially Obama for the amazing production.
Fantastic set to watch, this has been marinating in my watch later list & i'm glad to have made time to see this from start to finish. Thank you Majin & Bas
You need a highlight reel production after that chun li super parry Edit: it was intense, I thought UWB's chun li was asleep at first but then I saw her dynamics when GAO took over the first match leaving chun li to start the next match with almost a full bar, killer.
A few of us Utah guys all watched it while chatting on discord. Was a good ass time. Thanks so much, man. Hope more things like this happen in the future.
This was a treat to watch, a shame I missed it live. Work cucked me hard on that one. but glad to watch the exhibition here on youtube. Hope to catch more in the future.
when i saw the intro i was hype for the clash of styles cuz im a fan of defensive play, but it felt like a role reversal when i saw uwb using rolls to establish an offense and gao using just defends to get in so ended up rooting for gao
Gao did some mistakes, i know it easier to talk but it's fact. He has maybe respected his opponent too much specially with his Geese. Maybe his anchor (Rock) is not solid enough to make the job if Geese didn't clean the path previously....it's just a feeling i have since i follow japanese tournaments / sessions during the last 2 years.... This FT10 sadly confirms what we all know since the beginning : defense is much stronger in CVS2 than offense...and who could have demonstrate that better than Gao... But congrats to UWB he just has an incredible execution specially with Sagat, his combo timing are very tight ...
its really hard to explain the difference between sitting at an actual cab vs playing on your home set up. unfortunately most people wont get the opportunity to experience it.
sagat makes a lot of free damage, may be the only character that fits every groove. Now how would you rank every groove? A>K=C>S>P>N would be my order in power.
@@orchid_carmen i meant to make P=N, we share that N is a worse C, C charges a lot faster and does a ton of explosive damage, you have to activate N to get into a pretty predictable "attack mode", so i feel N has pretty much nothing like P, the hop which is the only strengh of N only works on mix ups IMO, run for whatever reason is inferior to dash. S evation and critical mode is better than both N or P. Anyway to support your comment, i have seen people using Morrigan N on Bas tourneys but never S of P. This is my opinion but what do you think?
@@Diorphe I feel that C is the better groove as well due to roll cancels, better meter usage, just better damage off hits in general due to most characters just being able to link into super pretty easy just blows N out the water in terms of usefulness. But that being said I do believe that I the right hands N can be really powerful with having and a roll cancel as well, short jump, the extra damage on activation and guard cancels. I feel it's just very reliant on character and the playstyle of the person using the groove.
