Geese throwing a Double-Reppuken at Bison, in his SF2 cloak, only for the cloak to be burned off and Bison is in the classic crossed hands pose and just laughs it off. So awesome for my favorite version of Bison, ever.
@@deedelta9263 It's my favorite ender for a match because of the slowdown that happens. I'm pretty sure this game is the reason she was put into Samurai Shodown 2019 as DLC since it was said they were adding a 'fan favorite character from Last Blade"..and I thought about how many fighting game fans actually know of Last Blade, and I realized it was likely Hibiki due to her being the only Last Blade character in a major fighting game that many people have played. Kaede was in Neo-Geo Battle Coliseum..but that game didn't have anywhere NEAR the appeal that this game did and still does for fighting game fans. So more people knew about her than Kaede, thus making her a 'fan favorite'.
Damn glad I wasn't the only one that noticed. Also rocks Super has a match ender if he kills you with a super. One of my faves, where he covers you with his jacket!!
@nemo pouncey I’m sorry bruh but tbh 2D or hand drawn Fighting game looks so much better look at how in darkstalkers after u take a hit the whole animation spins around or how Morgan’s eyes just popped out or how Hugo’s animations are godlike. 3D is all stiff and dry. Basic. Bland. It’s boring yeah it looks good once it’s polished but sf4, sf5, Kof14, Kof15, None of those will ever look better than alpha 2 alpha 3 3rd strike, Darkstalkers jojos etc… the only good 3D games that looks nice are mk11, And number one is obviously guilty gear(Fighterz is runner up)
This was the game I saw the majority of SNK characters for the first time and after seeing Kyo Kusanagi I checked out the most recent KoF at the time (KoF XIII) and I've been a fan since.
Yep I’ve heard from a lot of people in the fgc community that it was kyo that made them check out snk fighting games which makes me proud of my boy he’s just that fucking cool
All of Sakura's supers get a +1 from me just due to the voice acting. I always loved the contrast she had in this game of the typical cutesy anime schoolgirl voice most of the time, that suddenly turns into this badass screaming warrior voice when she's going all out.
This game was masterpiece. Full of shotos, anti shotos, charge characters, grapplers. Also, great animation, great music, good looking sprites, many grooves, many game modes, many boss battles
@AT Productions fair point but you also have to put how many frames of animation that mai has compared to morrigan I would expect morrigan not to really fit but that's one character out of god knows how many.
@AT Productions because their not from the same game If the sprites are just ripped out then of course they won't fit but again you have to think that these are two different games by two different teams and two different company's one of those companies have a bigger budget for animation so its natural for these look sorta outta place but the game its self looks great nonetheless
Usually. Because capcom recycles animations almost as much as mortal kombat. But when capcom puts in actual effort, they usually make something dope. In sf alpha 3 you had to land ryu's shin shoryuken perfectly in order to get max damage and see the a slightly different animation for the move, where ryu throws another strike before he does the uppercut motion while facing the screen. If you didn't land the move from the right distance, it looked kind of corny, which makes sense, if you don't land the move perfectly, ryu doesn't do it right.
Unfortunately for me, CvS2's main problem of the SNK side is that just how gutted and lacking impacts their moves are. Prime example of this is Geese's ending for Deadly Rave and Kyo's entire 98 moveset along with the Mushiki super.
17:22 The funny thing is that Ultras were inspired by one of Kim Kaphwan's supers, if not this one in specific. Funny how the industry pulls inspiration from Each other
While it's not a fighting game, it'd be cool if you did a Rate the Super for the Project X games on the 3DS. Watching two characters team up to annihilate someone is so damn entertaining to watch.
He's already reacted to the rosters of each PXZ a few years ago I think it's still featured in the "past broadcasts" section of his twitch channel. Name of the stream is "Thanos Reigns"
I've got a small complaint about these recent rate the super vids, wouldn't mention it except it's been persistent. I just prefer the characters to be out of the corner when looking at supers, especially non-cinematic ones. Just seems like we don't really see all the effects and animation when they're done in the corner.
16:48 There we go, *IT SUCKS!* 18:37 *YAA! PITS!* 24:45 *HOLY F$&K!!!* Alright, ok. It’s moments like these that makes me really wish that Max voiced anime or cartoon characters.
@@Ramsey276one It's been good to see that in recent years, people realize just what they were really missing out with, with some SNK games. Interested in what can come forth, but not sure if I'm going to be able to play them as effectively now after what feels like nerve damage. Some docs think these neck injections will help, first of three starts next week. Here's to hoping, which in it's self is dangerous. But yeah, it's been something. SNK use to get talked a bunch of trash on, some still try. but there's been quite some late nights and some fun seeing some stories unfold. I feel SNK was some of the first to really slap the idea away that stories dont matter in a fighting game. When done decent, especially when a universe can spin up together, it's a heck of a thing. Especially with the way it all comes together when you look back over it now. Capcom tries now, but Street Fighter never quite did it as well. Would love to see a new Rival Schools though. That's a fighter they did that looks like it could make story matter. SFV story was just kinda nonsense. Would like to see DarkStalkers get some good treatment too. But I could be talking all the more of the many IP's I'd like to see back.
The thing about the the Capcom snk vs series is that they came about when they wanted to show a “mature/clean” style in their franchise. It’s evident in their soundtrack choice too. They were clean looking games, you can even see it in the stages. There’s an artist chill going on. You can see that even further with CapSnk1
So the 3rd variation of the Hibiki super sets them up for a juggle, and in the event that you're in a groove (S or N grooves) where you can follow up a level 3 with a level 1 you can combo it into her dash slash super for a *really* flashy finish.
Been hoping you'd make this for years and of course you do it after one of the worst days of work I've ever had. Love this game so much. Thanks a ton Max!!!
Man just came back from a amazing anime convention with the squad nothing but vibing and now i see max uploaded rate the super for capcom cs snk 2 is it weird i low key want him to rate the interactions
There’s no easy way that you could’ve done it, but I think some of the level 3s are undercut because you’re not finishing an opponent with them and getting the big flash the game gives you for winning with a super. Having said that, still love these vids! Thanks, Max!
Damn I hope we get a new Capcom vs snk collection for the later consoles now, since Darkstalkers is getting the collection with power stone and all that
I think the way the unique way the voices sound in CvS2 compared to other classic Capcom and SNK games enhance these supers, regardless if they're good enough. You can just feel the energy from how Sakura sounds.
Damn on the Dreamcast I was totally badass playing it. One of my favourite 1on1 fighting games. And the first time I ever played with snk fighters. This game was on point and was an end to an era for a while there after too.
Hate to say I'm also not that big of a fan of his current Japanese voice. But it's not the voice who also does *Sephiroth* who I'd want, but rather his 3rd Strike one, although he already does voice somebody else in the form of their master, Gouken, instead. Still, I'm fine with the current one, only because it's Joey from Yu-Gi-Oh lmao
I loved playing as Maki. She was so crazy and out of control and all her supers sounded like someone was getting shot. Wish she'd come back in a new game.
Also what made some of these specials amazing was the inputs on some of them. It’s hard to do charged supers in real time match. Some one them don’t have the flash but you have respect for landings somethin wit a non practical input
... I know it would have been more time consuming, but I think all of these specials should have been done as finishers, kinda like the way he was doing the Demon Supers toward the end of the video. ... some of these lower-rated specials finishing off a round with CVS2's explosive K.O. Effects was some of the hypest moments of my fighting career. ... and would DEFINITELY change some of Max's perspective of those ratings.
I think Morrigan’s Valkyrie Turn is such an underrated super. It has gotten me out of many jams and it combos effortlessly into Darkness Illusion. And you can control where you appear on screen.
I think some are level 3 supers only. So they’re locked out of A groove, S groove requires full meter and being low health, and in N groove you have to activate whatever the mode is called first and then use another bar for level 3. Oddly enough, I think only C Groove allows for level 2 supers.
I know everyone is like Bring back mvc2, but I'm over like "But how bout svc2 tho". Probably my favorite crossover game of all time. Just imagine this game coming back with online and rollback net code with some balance reworks
Man this game is primo nostalgia for me, played this at our university's(UofHouston) arcade when I lived on campus. Place a quarter to get in the queue to play and probably get your ass handed to you if one of the regular's were around. I still remember the team I 'worked on' the most: A-groove R2 Blanka w/ R1 Cammy/Bison was so much fun trying to think up combos to use with that team Curious about others who played CVS2 at arcades but at least for us it felt like the 'meta' in our circle was: N or S groove with Top tier: Geese, Sagat, Terry, Vega, Eagle Also commonly used: Iori, Balrog, Sakura, Rolento
we gotta respect the fact tho that this Game is what started the Shin Akuma SGS first slow hits up to the fastest ones along with a small cry/pain sound
