@@MacStrengthCo Great work here! What are the dimensions of the gym? Trying to build out my home gym, hoping to have a similar set up to yours, but struggling to figure out an appropriate for the plans. Apologies if I missed those details in the video
Thanks! That's been a popular request and will be on our list for a in-depth review. We've had our reverse hyper now for awhile so it's a good time to get some real world feedback.
Fantastic gym build, really enjoyed the video. Just a suggestion about the background music - you may want to tone down the tempo and volume. Found it very distracting when I cannot focus on your commentary. Great job on the vids, fan of your content.
I agree! Im the guy who doesn’t know how to turn on a dsl camera never mind make a RU-vid video. I quickly found out the other channels making similar content have film degrees or teach videography at a university level so I’m the underdog here but working on it! Appreciate the feedback and support.🤙🏼
Love how your gym came out with the broad selection of equipment & how well you organized everything. Looks like you’re working with just a bit more space than I am, as our gym is about 900 square feet. Just took delivery of the last major piece of equipment to finally complete our gym with a REP PR-5000 that I’m building tomorrow, but was unfortunately limited to the 80” tall model due to ceiling height restrictions.
We’re looking for a pegboard to add to our gym and we really like the look of yours and the attachments. Do you mind linking or telling us where you got yours?
Great question. I’ll be honest and couldn’t wait any longer for a re stock from Rep. the Titan arms are very similar to Rogues and are much stronger designed in my opinion so we choose them.
You ever thought of buying preowned commercial gym equipment? Or liquidation pallets? Ive come across 10000lbs of urethane/rubber coated commercial plates and dumbbels for under 50c/lb. Saved me lots of money but it does take time to find the pair for singles😅 Plus no cost of shipping
Thank you for all the support and subs! We have a whole series of reviews and will start releasing a new video once a week based on what you asked for.
Awesome, awesome gym! Glad you finally put this video out, as it's easier to get a good perspective of the size of the gym. I'm envious! You could literally charge membership fees to that place. LOL. The rail system for the bags is genius and I'm going to have to look into that to keep my heavy bag out of the way when not using it. Keep em coming!
Really enjoyed your video. The gym is so tight!! I've got $55K into my 3 bay garage gym and look forward to building a dedicated structure at some point as well. I especially appreciate your tone in your delivery. You come across as just sincere and grateful which is refreshing as so many videos, you can see people either just trying too hard or having an agenda and more. What's your day job?
Great video and beautiful gym. What made you go with the American Barbell plates? Do you notice the smaller diameter of them compared to the larger diameter bumpers?
The American barbell plates are the best plates made in my opinion. Easy to handle, feel great in your hand and last forever. I’m looking into a set of iron plates next to add to our gym. We use the bumper plates for Olympic lifts like deadlifts mostly. Plates are personal preference but any will work.
@@danielsmith6896 I'll wait until next summer before I get into some Iron plates. The top 3 iron plates in my opinion for looks and feel are Strengthco, Rogue Deep Dish and Kabuki. (calibrated is a whole different story)
We bought all of our dumbbells from different companies, just to try them all out. Like 20s from Everlast, 25's from Rogue, 30s from Titan, etc. Anyway, our 45s are the Rep rubber grips, like seen in this video. And those are the ones that my kids like best. In my personal opinion the Titans are the best.
Once you get your training up to 80lb-120lb range you will like the rubber grips more. So much more compact and easier to handle. The urethane are also nice in the heavier weights. That was a huge part of why I bought them. Cheers!🤙🏼
If I can EVER get something close to this for our gym, I would be over the moon! I would never want to leave! Incredible tour and breakdown man. Was looking forward to this for a while! The definition of the home gym goat! The rogue rack and reverse hyper looks like an ABSOLUTE beast! I’ve always wanted to get that echo bike for cardio one day! That fridge is genius!! Get the 97 C4s we got LOL seriously bro, great job man! Watched the entire thing and wanted more.
Gotta lose those C4s! The problem is someone keeps drinking all the drinks from the fridge and not restocking them! I wonder who that could be.. yaaaaa. lol. Cheers bro!
Heavier weight stack, , leg pad to hold you in place and foot pad for seated rows. I think some of it comes down to preference and how strong you are. If you can’t lift your body weight much less benefit for example. Hope that helps! Cheers.🤙🏼
Awesome!!! you guys killed it. I've known this guy forever..100% solid guy and Family. .Follow this channel for honest technical reviews. He knows his stuff and doesn't do anything Half Assed as you can see!!! Proud of you Man for what you've accomplished so for. Took a ton of work to get here....Great tour. I want to see a review on those Rogue Bars and what a person should buy whos just starting to build their own gym...... if you had to pick. Bumper plates or steel or mix????
Awesome Home Gym brotha! Absolutely love it! Thank you for sharing. Truly inspirational. Question do you have a before and after video on this amazing transformation? 💪💪
Amazing gym and great video, you got a subscriber! I’m definitely curious about your rail system. I am building a new gym and installing some suspension equipment. I’m very curious about the working load as we do aerial arts and could be spinning on an apparatus with 2 people and angular momentum.
That’s a super nice home gym. Those organization skills tho. You’ve got it all my friend. I’m jelly. I’m also looking to get a functional trainer and I see that you have the REP functional trainer.
Yes that REP functional trainer is the buy once and be happy purchase. There's many other functional trainers for less money but they are smaller and narrower with less weight on the stacks. That thing is HEAVY! It's literally never moving so buy the one you like.
Can you explain what type of foil insulation you used in between the rafters? Also, the decision to not drywall a ceiling in there? I like the open rafter look. Wondering if it’s very cold...
The foil is and insulation heat reflective barrier and not great for R value. I just ran out of money to finish the ceiling.. Normally those rafters would be insulated with fiberglass and covered. It's 1500 sq ft with 19' ceilings so ya it's not super warm in the winter. Our heater just can't keep up with that much overhead space. I like the open ceilings so probably just leave it. Doesn't get super cold where we're at.
Those are from LOWES. Just the lowes storage wall rack system. The hooks move along the rail. Once you go there you'll see which ones. There's several brands that are similar.
Excellent engineering in space and functional stations. 1 thing you won't be able to stress enough is the time spent every day (and night in bed) thinking of what Tetris moves you have to make for the most floor. High five the wife for being a huge part of making it happen. Looks fantastic.
Love the channel, making plans to build my own 900 sq/ft garage gym. Any tips looking back you wish you had done? Flooring, lighting, insulation, windows, etc?
Well I liked them so much I bought more of them. I'm around 1200 lbs now. They are the best plates when It comes to function and quality. Easy to rack and move and high quality that looks great a year later. I will feature them eventually for sure but just swamped lately.
I have the REP urethane plates also. The rubber is identical on both plates from what I can tell. Other than design they are very similar and would come down to which ones you like the look of better. Slight edge to AB's hand hold design but that's splitting hairs.
