Freya don't plant the mint in the bed with herbs it will take over the whole bed and you can never get rid of it put it in a large pot on a flag stone don't put it on your gravel either as roots can get out of pot garden is looking amazing

Mint is a terror as it spreads everywhere and the roots grow very long and they’re very hard to get rid of. I find the best solution is to either have a separate bed away from other herbs or to keep it in a pot.Everyone deserves ‘time out’ and though it would be nice to have some pre- recorded videos while you’re away, I’m sure all your subscribers will understand if you want a complete break from filming. The garden is unrecognisable from before and I hope you get some lovely weather to enjoy it- Barney already has his zoomies on !! 💖🌸

Freya having worked from home for the last 15 years of my working life I never took time off - now at my age I regret it as we really should have had holidays even if it was just time away from work. Life passes so quickly - take a break, enjoy it and we will still be here when you get back 🙂 The garden is looking great btw!!

The mint and the lemon balm can both take over ( mint especially) so it’s advisable to pop those separate to ensure the rest have a good chance of getting established and having enough space to grow and thrive

I would definitely notice if you didn't upload but you are very much deserving of a holiday! Do what makes you happy, we will still all be here when you get back xxx

Wow, after your backyard was cleared out it, the true scale size can really be seen now. The transformation is amazing. With that said, I think lattice or some finish top around the fencing would make it look more proportional to the backyard size. Also, staining the fence would add the finishing touch!

I am retired but the last few years I worked from home and loved it. So I understand how hard it is to take a break. Maybe take one week off completely and some short videos the other week? Your brother's wedding is the time to be in the moment and enjoy💜💙💚💛🧡

Hi Freya, I would recommend planting the mint and lemon balm in their own separate pots as they spread so quickly and can be quite invasive xx

Mint runs wild if you just plant it in the garden. It is a very thirsty plant so will steal moisture from the soil- maybe stopping your other herbs from thriving. I would put the Mint in one of those large pots but put some mesh over the hole in the bottom before you put soil in it- to stop the roots escaping. The garden looks lovely.

You do what you need to do Freya. Obviously I’ll miss your content. So really you decide what you’d like to do. Hauls or smaller vlogs or just a break. Love the blush look. Also the mental tub you found looks like a really old wash tub that was used for washing clothes in with a long handled stick called a dolly. I love all your stone pots and the way the garden is coming together. You can tell Barney aproves😊

hiya freya, love your videos which i have been watching for a few months now. love the new garden and herb raised bed. A bit f advice re the mint. It will eventually spread and choke out all the other herbs. it's roots spread and its almost impossible to pull them out once established. You could plant the mint in one of your lovely new pots or plant in in the end of the herb bed with a piece of dividing timber between it and its neighbouring herb to curtail its spread. Take your few weeks off, those of us who enjoy you will still be here, waiting for your return. xx love from Ireland

Hi freya do have some time for yourselves my dear it’s important❤ also always keep your mint in its original pot inside a more fancy one because if you put it directly into the ground it takes over the whole area! I found this out to my peril I’m still digging it out now 😂 your garden looks lovely 😊

If you're worried about uploading you could always do a couple of pre recorded videos like summer make up, what you pack for holiday that kind of thing. But you deserve a break like everyone else 😊

Use a pot for the mint or it will take over the herb garden. Japanese maple grows happily in a pot and the reds and gorgeous colour to the garden. Rhubarb also grows happily in a pot. Mine is over 20yrs old . If you invested in a small greenhouse you could grow lemons. They will need the greenhouse to survive the winter.

Plant your herbs now whilst its not too hot,so when the heat of summer comes they will be well established.

Garden is looking lovely Freya. As others have said plant mint in a pot! We all speak from experience haha. Mediterranean herbs like well drained soil so you could always add a bag of horticultural grit if the top soil is too dense. Also… you defo should leave the camera at home when you go on holiday. Enjoy it for what it is…. A break! Have fun in the garden xx

I would not plant the mint directly within the herb bed. It will grow like crazy and completely drown out anything and everything else! You could sink a metal bucket into the bed and plant it in that if you want all the herbs in the same place. Whatever you do, it needs to be restrained!

Obviously completely your decision, but personally I say take the break Freya, don’t add to your schedule during the lead up to the wedding and holiday by having to pre film extra if you don’t want to, just enjoy, I for one Will be here for your videos whatever whenever 😊❤. I'm sure everyone is saying this but put the mint in a separate pot lol it takes over everything. I've had rosemary sage and thyme for years they're very hardy. It's looking good :)
