We're truly starting to see a shift in the weather : leaves are turning and dropping, the brown hues of seedheads are steadily replacing colourful blooms and it's been raining daily for the past few weeks ! BUT, it's the perfect time of year to be planting and moving perennials so we're tackling some planting today, developing a new planting area and cleaning up the garden ! Those grasses mixed with the aliums are going to be so gorgeous! We have had sooo much rain in the past six weeks. Today is the first dry day that I don’t have to work so I plan on doing a lot of garden work. It’s a bit daunting sometimes when there is a lot to be done, but thankfully I have some help today. Also planting spring bulbs, which is always so exciting!! Love these cosy fall videos ❤❤

💛 Thanks, so glad you’re enjoying the videos 🥰 I do hope the new area will turn out ok - it has become a playing ground so hopefully the grasses will survive the cats 🙈 Haha yes it feels like a rush to dash out as soon as the rain stops and only have a few hours 😅

The alliums and the grass around the stone column will look nice. Your garden helpers seem to enjoy it as well 🐈💛🐈 I hope your lupin will not be eaten by slugs 🐌 mine was completely eaten by slugs in one day after I've put it into the ground. Good idea to fill up the gaps with brassicas 👍 What kind evergreen hedge do you have in the garden? Have a nice Sunday 🌞🌝

Haha yes they never miss and addition to the garden and this one is very popular to hide 🥹 We have a mixed edging which I believe has been planted about 20y ago : - Photinia Red Robin (with red new growth) - Viburnum Tinus (produces white flowers in the Fall) - Abelia Grandifloria (with lightly scented white flowers) - Ealeagnus ebbingei (with silver under foliage) - Prunus Laurocerasus (fast growing) And I just got 2 Cotoneaster Lacteus for the front garden (produces red berries) 😘😘

Clean up is always bitter sweet, even tho it doesn't get crazy cold where I am in the states, I still do not like the cold. Look forward to seeing what you put together for Christmas, your front yard arrangement last yr was beautiful.

The garden is looking so much better than when you first arrived 👌you're doing such a good job and I'm sure it's going to get even more beautiful in spring or in summer. I am wondering what is the red foliage in your border ? It looks lovely. Marie

You're brave ! Here with all the rain I don't find the will to go gardening. Also I did a mistake by digging a mini pond and now it's loaded with rainwater that I'll have to dig out to put the mini pond one day ^^' so each time i go out I see this mess 🥲 I hope you didn't get any damage from one of the storms, it's been seriously windy in south west yesterday night ! I still need to plant my bulbs but as I'm redesigning my garden, I'm not sure where to plant them yet so in the meantime they're kept in a cool room.

It does get harder and harder to stay outside for long periods of time but it must be done for next year 💪Awww ponds are great for wildlife I’m sure you’ll have visitors even if it’s not finished yet 😊No damage from the storm thankfully !! Same, most of my bulbs are still in the garage - we have plenty of time 💚😘

There are some perennial alliums now that bloom in lare summer. I've added several and the bees love them. They are shorter than the bulb alliums.

Love watching your videos: they are so calming to watch after a stressful week at work. Do you happen to have some videos on perennials? I only have 2 flower beds in my garden, long and narrow, near the fences and for the moment I’m just using them for spring bulbs. But after May, they are kind of dead space, as nothing grows there. How can I start incorporating some flowers that also bloom in summer and possibly into fall?

Thanks 🥰 the ‘May gap’ is definitely tricky, I do have a video dedicated to cottage perennials ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PSLKRaq6yIQ.html that I’m hoping can help ! Look into grasses, some varieties like stipa tenuissima stay evergreen wear round. You could plant climbing plants along the fence like evergreen clematis, hydrangea petiolaris or jasmine (very very vigorous) depending on the sun levels 😊 😘😘
