I think i spotted a mistake in the game, nothing major, but something that my keen Finnish eyes noticed. I'm not exactly sure what year the game is supposed to represent, but if it's anything before 1917, the map at 2:04 shouldn't have Finland in it, as it was part of Russia until we declared indepence on that year.

Sherlock was born in 1854 and Watson and Holmes didn't meet until Watson was injured and had to leave the army in 1881. So that should give ya a good time frame to say yes the map is wrong.

Am I the only one who noticed the game timeline is messed up? In Sherlock vs Jack the Ripper, the harpoon that killed Black Peter was hanging above Watson's bedroom door in the flat (if I recall correctly), but now we're investigating Black Peter's death AND Watson mentions the Ripper case.

Well the visuals have certainly improved (even though they look a little like corpses at times) but the sound design is on the derp side. Some of the footsteps and background noises seem far too loud.

I'm enjoying Dodger's playthrough but I have to say I'm disappointed the game is just using existing Sherlock Holmes stories. I read this story a while ago and know who did it which somewhat spoils the detective work for me, also the game makes it seem a less interesting tale somehow (then again, I suppose the books are always better)! Kinda wish they had invented new Holmes stories to play.

the classics are the best one, but I agree that doing completly new stories in the spirit of sherlock holmes would be amazing following a allready written script is easier then writting one for ones game though..

ShotgunVsHeart It's easier but it's just unfortunate for people who have actually read the stories rather than merely watched the tv shows and films because a large part of the experience of Holmes is trying to work out the mystery. I really hope later in the game we see new stories. That said, it's kind of funny seeing Dodger try and solve the mystery because I don't think she has read the story :)

I don't think the ripper case is an official Sherlock story, but the game could be based on one of the many books authors other than Conan Doyle wrote about Holmes. I don't know about the Testament, though.

that boy did not do it he's got thin neck. he lacks the stature overpower the victim and lacks the strength to until the whaling harpoon through the victims body and into the wall. at best he's innocent at worst he is an accomplice. I would suggest to find out if a boy has a taste for liquor as well if he smokes tobacco and if so his brand. :P

I really love watching Dodger play this game, but the plot just seems ridiculously contrived. It's obvious to the player that that guy didn't do it, and the police and Holmes seem strangely unconcerned with establishing whether he knew the victim and whether the victim's wife knows who he is, and also with the simple problem of motive. I get that these aren't the best games out there, and it's more about playing than actually having a good murder mystery, but the plot is really terrible.

Don't bring the stupid motive thing into this. Sherlock's most used saying is why he doesn't care about it. Plus in the books it states that a lot of his cases were 'just for fun' murders lol. And imagine being a cop and saying "it's obvious he didn't do it" xD . As for the mother thing, either a flaw like you mentioned or unnecessary in Sherlock's mind.

Ted Bennett Cool :) I think it is a pretty realistic depiction, but I'm just unconvinced it works very well as a game/story. Ha! I think it's because I'm aware that I write overly long comments, and I feel like I should break it up any way I can. I kind of hate it when authors have single sentence paragraphs all the time to add 'impact' (once or twice is fine :P ) but apparently I'm a filthy hypocrite who doesn't think it counts for comments.
