With all that has gone on this summer, you guys did ok on the garden. Know that you are exceedingly blessed by God to have a good husband that works with you, and your loving parents to help when needed. In a world where the family unit is no longer as strong as it once was, you have shown us that it still does exist. Our Lord is good. That breakfast made my mouth water, and please say Hi to Katie.................
I just love how Olive put her arm around Austin when he was holding her. That was the sweetest thing! She is such a good dog. She didn’t beg for food or try to jump on any of you.
Professional gardener here...your garden looks exactly how it's supposed to heading into fall. Those tasty annual veggie plants have done their job all season and now it's time to compost the remnants so they can nurture next years crop. Cycle of life in your yard! Everything is exactly how it's supposed to be. Relish that last basket of summer goodness as a parting gift!
Aww, Corie! I think you did a great job on the garden! I agree with Austin: you did your best. I love that he's so supportive for you. :) Your parents are so sweet to help you out and I hope your fall garden does well! That breakfast you made looked delicious! God bless you, dear friend!
Girl, you sure didn’t flop….you’re heart is so faithful, so caring….God knows the garden crop you harvested and grew is plentifully for the sadness your own heart has felt this past year. Don’t ever forget how amazing you are! ❤
Why I watch ThePressleyGirls: I lost my dad when I was six years old to an accident. My mom was widowed at 30 and spent the next 43 years as a widow. We lost her in 2017. I am 55 now and never married. I was an atheist from the age of 6 (for obvious reasons; how could a good God take my dad) until the age of 24 when I encountered the Lord Jesus Christ. I have belonged to the same Church for 31 years. When I watch this channel I see a living example of what is still possible in our world today. It used to be much more common but it is rare now. A healthy, faith-led, happy, talented, forgiving, multi-generational family enjoying the good times and tough times together. Believe it or not the moment in your video that hit me the most was when your parents arrived. The generational wisdom you will receive and then pass down someday is not something to be taken for granted. (I know you don't.) I traded "a" father for "The" father. God showed me that. But it is still a source of pain that I have no one to whom I can pass things down. So, I live vicariously through thepressleygirls and leave comments long enough to be a novel. Thank you and God Bless you & yours.
Oh God bless you my sweet friend. That’s a hard thing to go through. I’m so glad that you are here with us and that you like to watch our videos and they bring you peace!
I enjoyed all your gardening videos, Corie. I know you're a little disappointed how some of it turned out, but you've been so busy, and you're still learning. A lot of it grew well and fed your family, and next year will be even better! So nice to see Mom and Dad, and Austin and Olive. Praying for Granny. Please tell Katie we love her and are praying for her and wishing her all the best. God bless!
You all are a precious family and a blessing to all who watch and follow your posts. The peace of Jesus shines through in your everyday livs's. My Larry harvested the last of the okry yesterday and our little chest freezer is plumb full , praise the Lord for his bountiful blessings to all of us his children! I am surely looking forward to those cool beautiful autumn days and quilt cuddling nights. Tell Katie hey.
Delightful and this gave me a moment of Joy this afternoon. When Austin offered such kind supportive words, well I was actually really moved. Y'all cooking breakfast together was so fun and by the way totally like Tipper's hat! I did not plant anyting this spring because I had trouble, but watching this I remembered I had a pack of radish seeds and dang I went out and planted them so thanks for the inspiration and the best part was when Olive was romping and stomping and talkin my pup Polly Ann thought it was the grandest moment of the day! Peace
Corie, you and Austin did a great job with the garden! I absolutely look forward to seeing y'all's videos. Keep them coming please and Olive is precious.
That’s a sneaky way for Austin to advertise for Dex Hubbard. Lol. It’s funny how Olive was watching your mom and dad on the swing, she seemed to be watching your dad more, maybe Grandpa will give her a bite of his breakfast. Lol Sweet little Olive wave bye bye.
Love seeing you love birdies together ❤ it’s so hot n humid in Boston. Only going down to 80 tonight 😢 we are like your dad, hate the super hot weather. Blessings y’all 🙏🙏♥️♥️
In 1974 (I was 19 yr old) I planted my first garden and had no idea how to plant the tiny lettuce and carrot seeds. The fella at the seed store told me to put about a handful of plain old sand in a bowl and add my seed, then stir it around with my finger. He said this would help separate the itty bitty seed and not cause me to have my plants all bunched together. It worked and I've been doing it ever since.
When i plant carrots i water them lightly twice a day until they come up then once a day if no rain. Carrot seeds have to be moist to germinate. Cory my dog loves chopped kale in her dog food. I harvest it and freeze it for winter use.
Dad always places a board on top his beets , a board that isn’t treated. And after the beets sprout he takes the board off! I never have good luck with beets ,though
Next year you can have fun and enjoy planting with less work. You all have done great this year. My garden is all gone now too. I just had the last watermelon yesterday.
Listen to Austin, don't worry about it. You worked hard, ate a lot from your garden. Give yourself a break Corie, you've had a lot going on. Grammy from Texas
Corey, you've had a crazy busy year. You help your mom a few days a week, Ms. Cindy being sick and now Granny is sick and not to mention that you and Austin set up all your raised beds this year as well. I think your garden did just fine considering everything you had going on. Now you know what did well and you have a heads up on what to expect and do next year. Loved the little blue tailed critter, I have those at my place too. So sweet of you to fix a nice breakfast for your mom and dad when they came to help you with planting your fall garden, everything looked so good! Hope you have a great day! Prayers and blessings 🙂❤️🙏
Last year your Mom inspired me to try gardening. My garden was piddling last year but I had one but much better this summer! Everything is growing in grow bags! I learned a lot from your Mom and also learned a lot from a channel called the Veggie Boys. I’m sure next year will be even better.
I love you girls love for old things. My Mom had those dishes back when I was young. Seems like you got them at the grocery store free or for a small amount when you bought a certain amount of groceries,Nothing like it. Breakfast looks delish❤
Your home looks like a cottage .Very adorable. And what a sweetheart of a husband God has blessed you with. Your bounty is a blessing no matter the size. God Bless you and yours 🙏❣
Prayer for Sharon. That the Holy Spirit would draw her heart to Jesus and give her rest and peace. Your daddy is as handsome as Miss Cindy was beautiful. Your whole family is beautiful. God's blessings to all. ❤ Best wishes for your fall garden! Miss Kathleen from WV.
You girl are always fun to watch! Your Mom & Dad are going to be fabulous Grandparents. And, they will enjoy it more than they can even imagine. Much love to you all!💙💙💙
Sweetheart, next investment to save for? A dehydrator. Life hit me hard during growing season, and my dehydrator? Wow...thank God for whoever invented THAT THING!!!
Hey, Corie! Give yourself a break, girl! I see a great success in your garden! Yes, sometimes the darn curveballs life throws us keep us from doing things exactly the way we want, but then we FLEX. And you DID flex. That's a powerful lesson, and you've done very well. And, Austin is so very supportive - such a sweet man. I just love how you all help each other in so many ways. Can't wait to see how your Fall garden progresses. Breakfast looked delish - I could almost taste it! Peace be with you. 💚
No matter the situation Katie, God will bless you & the little one. Oh my gosh, isn't it exciting Korie knowing you will be an Aunt? Im glad Granny has gotten good news about her health. Praying for all of you ❤
Young Lady,I would never be ashamed of you in any way❤..You did the best you could under the circumstances.I am proud you did this,my son is young and made a garden as well, and it did good. Most young people now, have no interest in these things. We proud of you and hubby❤❤
If you go and listen to your garden video two months ago, there is such a huge difference in the sound of nature. I love the sound of autumn in this video! I also hear that your area maybe getting more snow than usual this year. I know your daddy will be happy about that! 😊🌨️❄️
I got the free packet of the purple Merlot lettuce from Bakers and it was SOOOO good! And it grew and grew and grew! I hope it does well for you and hopefully y'all will enjoy it as much as I did!
I think you did GREAT for a first year garden! Remember to make notes on what you did and when, varieties, weather etc. Remember how cool our start to summer was... it almost didn't get started till July. Maybe try more pollinator flowers, perennials too so you don't have to re do them every year. Love you! Thanks for all the fun!
Fabulous gift for your sister's baby would be to record Granny to discuss her grandparents and do so genealogy by looking them up and sharing that with granny on camera. Hold up the pictures. This would be a private video, in granny's own voice.
U R a wonderful and supportive sister because I heard about your sister's pregnancy and it was so lovely to see the support she has from you all......In my naivity I thought it was U both but you will make and awesome aunt and uncle........We didn't have a lot of money when we adopted out baby twins and I bought used cots and a pram from ebay, someone made me a baby curtain and we just put up a cartoon character baby poster in the room.......That was it.......babies don't care about fancy cots and prams. They just want food ( breast milk is free), warmth and regular diaper changes......that's it. You both enjoy making crafts to perhaps you can make mobiles that hang above the cot etc......Think about craft things that the baby or nursery would need.
I am amazed how you and Austin just went outside in your yard and started a garden... Beautiful garden.... ! oh, the raccoons and other creatures will love the leftovers.... Its a way to feed the creatures all around ya.... Once again a great video... Loved seeing your Mom and Dad over for a bite... looks yummy indeed ! Thanks for sharing with all of us !
Life happens! The garden was a success if even it’s yield was not manageable! That is why God teaches us to “compost”! Next garden will have rich soil from your own compost! 👍
such a bountiful garden you & Austin got this year Cori.....everything grew so BIG! and even more than you could keep up with in some things. Can't do better than that. But you know, as I watched this video I got to thinking - in all my years I do not ever remember mom planting a fall garden! Never even heard of anyone doing that until you all came along! So for me, fall and putting the garden to 'bed' always seemed a bit of a sad affair, but now seeing you all doing fall planting makes my heart happy, knowing it is not over yet. ha ha You are so blessed to have parents who come work along side you and in having a dad that 'fixes things.' My dad was handy too, and your dad reminds me of my dad in mannerisms, his sense of humor, & his quiet, gentle voice. You all are such a blessing and I look forward to every video and post. Bless each one of you and I thank you for allowing me to be a part of your lives. 💕💕
My husband is the same as Matt when we go to my daughters and son in laws house. He has to stay busy. Always working on something. My daughter brings out the “fun” in her daddy. I love to watch them cuttin up together. He also teaches my son in law so much. I watch them all interacting and realize these are memories being made. Enjoy every moment. Your garden looks exactly like an end of the season Garden should. 👩🌾💚🥒🥔🧡
I laughed out loud when Corie said I’m stubborn y’all and Austin said “she ain’t lying”. It was the honest delivery. You two are so adorable! God bless you and I love watching. ❤
Hard work in the garden is made better with the help of friends (and family) to share in the labor. I’m sure that this fall planting will yield some good food for you to enjoy. - Tennessee Smoky
Diadophis Punctatus ( Southern Ringneck Snake ) If you handle it the Snake will Musk on your hand and it will take several washings to get rid of the smell, ( it's Funky). Thanks for sharing, God bless. 😃
Don't be ashamed. I would just leave the squash in there and the foliage chop it up and it will enrich your soil. I leave stuff in the garden a lot sometimes I don't get to it fast enough. Nothing is wasted it goes right back into your soil so its okay. You all did a great job on your gardens.
August gardens are wild and overgrown! Never be ashamed of all the hard work you do to grow food for your family, all of our gardens look like this in August and September.
