What a guy and what a series , I still rewatch it every couple of months . I really need to visit Avebury at some point , hopefully the Red Lion pub hasn’t been affected too badly by this lockdown malarkey
I was born weeks before Children of the Stones was released; I have vague memories of watching (and being scared by) Blake's 7 with my parents but haven't seen it since it was originally broadcast. I've downloaded both, can't wait to get stuck in.
I really enjoyed watching Children of the Stones, and every so often I would play it again, it’s at a time when society was respectful of each other and was a clean production that there was no need for swearing and extreme violence (unlike the modern sorts of series that have swearing) thanks Gareth for all of your wonderful work.

Thanks for uploading this...Great interview. I saw this series when I was about 8 and it made a big impact on me...with the scary music and creepy stones at the start and the energy beam in the finale.
@@ppotter Yes...always good for a rewatch. I just want to remind myself of it and then I end up rewatching it all😀. I really loved Ian Cuthbertson in this. I don't remember seeing him in anything else but I must have.
@@por1821 Cuthbertson was the Skunner Campbell in Supergran, which I remember as a boy, and he's usually lurking as a mysterious villain in anthology shows from the period somewhere along the line.
@@ppotter Missed that... never really watched Supergran as when I was young I didn't want to watch a programme were a old woman was the protagonist😊...but I used to love RentaGhost which would be similar broad humour...I found it a bit spooky but the characters were such fun😀
It was a genuinely remarkable series. You can always mess with the heads of people of my generation by saying "Happy day!" People who saw it get a shiver when you say that! LOL
I loved COTS as a kid, I remember the intro always freaked me out lol. I also remember my first time visiting Avebury unaware the programme was filmed there, having a mega case of Deja Vu, very odd feeling. Avebury is one of my favourite places in the country and Id love to see a re-make of it done today.
Thanks for posting this really interesting and informative interview with Mr Thomas. I stumbles across it by accident and will now seek out the TV programme.

Maybe, but it was a quick low budget video for an indie DVD company, and probably without the usual make-up assistant. He probably looks just like a lot of men his age.
