Yeah, the intro is like the first two seasons, with the season two intro dialog. All 'cause ABC aired the third season on their network. At least we got the end credits from that season.
Disney cancelled the original series' syndicated run in 1996, but ABC television immediately picked up the series, renaming it "Gargoyles: The Goliath Chronicles". Following the events of "Hunter's Moon," the public is now fully aware of the existence of the Gargoyles; the show's third season deals with the public's sometimes prejudicial misunderstanding of the Gargoyles' natures and intentions. It also shows that David Xanatos is now a benefactor to the Manhattan Clan and is also married to Fox, a former member of the Pack, and they have a baby son. The show consisted a single season and 13 episodes. It aired on ABC Saturday mornings from September 7, 1996 to February 15, 1997.
In "GARGOYLES: THE GOLIATH CHRONICLES," their main enemies in the show's third season are The Hunters/Quarrymen. The Hunters/Quarrymen are descendants of King Duncan I, the Hunters are fighters from a series of hereditary villains through time that have sworn under the Hunter mask to hunt down Demona and destroy all gargoyles. The current generation, (consisted of Jason, Jon and Robyn) comes to New York City after hearing of the gargoyle encounters. However, Jason and Robyn Canmore eventually come to realize that all gargoyles are not the threat of humanity that Demona is, and drop the Hunter cause. But their brother, Jon, initally apprehensive, develops a deep hatred of the gargoyles, later drops the Hunter persona, and changed his name to 'John Castaway.' As Castaway, he leads an anti-gargoyle group called the Quarrymen.
This was the best cartoon ever and this 3rd season was everything. Need to keep all the old episodes and bring them back without modern day changes to screw everything up
This and Batman Beyond rate as some of the best animation work ever done. In our highly computerized and graphic laden society, we have forgotten the true art of animation. Gargoyles is a true testament of imagination over technology. This is what people truly want!!!! Are you listening Disney?
I respectfully disagree that we've forgotten the true art of animation. Computers are nothing but tools to create great art, some of the best animation we've gotten has been animated completely with computers.
Not likely to happen. Greg Wiseman who created the show has disavowed this season seeing as he was not involved in it's development and considers it non-canon as well as it being disavowed by the comics made by Slave Labor Graphics. Plus it wasn't received very well unlike the first two seasons.
@@nekokun7769 Weisman had already put the chips in place with the 2 part Gathering episode. And mind you Xanatos was never an "evil" guy from the get go. He could never "join" the Gargoyles, that would undermind his selfish opportunistic nature but having him as the rich "friend" in the background who could bail them out (eg final episode of series) of trouble was convenient. In short, Xanatos had almost exhausted his usefulness as a semi-villain. This evolution was the next logical step for him, especially with the Quarrymenmaking a debit in season 3.
I get people see this season as inferior to the previous, but the original creators' "true canon" comic series is way worse. Had the comics been animated, this show would have jumped the shark for everyone. I'd happily take the ending we get in S3 over Weisman's messy ending any day, despite that series never being finished.
This is objectively wrong on so many levels. I understand wishing Weisman went a different direction, but expanding on the Illuminati and giving Brooklyn his own adventure is much better than the disconnected mess of the Goliath Chronicles. Not to mention his plan never reached his peak before Disney's greed shattered it.
I honestly can't believe this wasn't more popular. I actually disliked season 2 and loved season 3, but apparently most people felt the opposite. I felt season 2 was directionless and the self contained episodes ruined it for me. Season 3 actually had a real plot and it was one of the first "friendly monster" tv series to have their monsters stop hiding and show the public's reaction. Which is something I later came to love about True Blood as well.
The Avalon World Tour arc dragged on and on! Plus most episodes were from bad overseas studios. Season One was the BEST consistent quality except "Enter MacBeth" sucks!
This is no doubt one of the best shows Disney ever aired but is this really a Disney show? At the end of this show on the end credit it said Buena Vista Television and just had the Buena Vista castle logo.
@@preachcaleb True, but I'm a huge 90's Disney fan as well as a huge 90's Cartoon Network and 90's Nickelodeon fan and I paid a lot of attention to details in the shows and the movies such as the characters and the names of the cast members who play those characters, the theme songs verbatim, the music, the end credits and the logos, the copyrights, everything about these shows and I know that's weird. I was and still am a huge 90's fan of the shows and the movies, and at the end of every Disney show at the end of the credits it said 'The Walt Disney Company,' then it had the copyright year, then it said 'All Rights Reserved,' and then it either had the purple Walt Disney Television castle logo and then the Buena Vista castle logo or just the plastered blue Walt Disney Television logo.
@@preachcaleb Right I know but at the end of every 90's Disney show they would have the Buena Vista castle logo right after the purple or blue Walt Disney Television logo, except for this show and I was just curious as to why that's all.
Terry Knight I’d say it’s similar to how Nightmare Before Christmas originally had a touchstone pictures logo. It’s still Disney, just under a different distribution.
+Ghost worrier 38 It might as well stay in the vault. Greg Weisman, the creator, has declared the third season non-canon, since it was created without his involvement. The fact that the comics disavow the third season means it is officially non-canon.
I don’t know why this season is called the goliath Chronicles. We seen many episodes goliath starring in. This is by far the lowest season in the entire series. It’s really a sad note this was the final season of the series seriously make everything focus on each character, story of character arc and the villains of this season Goliath struggle because now everybody in New York knows them Broadway with Angela arc Brooklyn having this jealousy with with Broadway and Angela that he’s wanting to find a mate in his life but he never got it in the season that was an ark that was unfinished Lexington being a protector for little Alex In Angela‘s episode where she wants her mother demona to rejoin the clan and plus it was the only episode that demona what is in for the rest of the season and the rest of the series And of course, Hudson struggle because he was going blind demona was only in one episode in that season and I was her last episode of the entire series because they way too much concentrate on that the hating gargoyles cult when last season we had more episodes The first two seasons were great, but this one kinda leads down Like Brooklyn should’ve found a mate. It’s giving him is giving him an episode of where he has to take care a group of stray kids he should’ve been having an ark where he finds a mate like this could’ve been the season that we were introduced to katana but nope they had to do things the hard way they were busy concentrating on each episode for each character And they should’ve make room for other villains besides the gargoyles cult, but it seems like it wasn’t enough room for demona in this, despite she was a big villain from the previous two seasons, not to mention the animation is kind of too this this season was a mess
