I enjoyed this video so much. I make garment bags out of quilted fabric for all my friends and family. It’s double faced quilted fabric. My husband is a pilot and travels a lot so I made him a suede one and he wore it out. He wanted a denim one this time. I couldn’t find quilted denim so I made my own. He loves it. Thanks for your video. Excellent!
I made one years ago... one thing i added was a 2 inch wide "tube" that i pressed flat and it was abut 7 inches long.. I secured the raw ends of the "tube" in the bottom seam and this left a "loop" on the outside at bottom. My bag was long enough for a fairly long dress and i would just fold it up and hook the loop over the hangers once garment was inside and zipped up... made a long bag easier for a short person to carry. Once i got to the car or the room, just unhook the loop and let it hang... has worked gerat. I also used a zipper that came on a garment bag that stores use to put men's suits in!
AWESOME! I'm 2 years late but happy that your video popped up! I bought one of those bags from DT, years ago and the same thing happened. I'm now happy that I still have the zipper 😊 Thank you for the tutorial!
I've made lined garment bags for years for my granddaughters dance recitals. Thry always get to pick out tbeir fabric. Thanks so much for the video. Picked up several tips!
Thank you, thank you ! My daughter requested 3 garment bags made for dance costumes. I quilt, don’t sew, but think I can do this with your instructions. Much appreciated!
Hello. I just finished making a garment bag for my Husband for Christmas. It turned out great! I added a fabric handle at the bottom to make it easy to carry. I used a garment bag that came with his suit for the pattern and purchased a zipper. We will be using it when we travel by car. Thank you for your excellent video and Merry Christmas! Linda
I am happy to see any of your videos great tips and you make it fun. Your voice inflection is great for teaching as we can hear it and absorb what your saying because you ace it just right. I like the notions or companies you show us about these notions or gadgets that one might never know about such as mettle threads etc. Your videoing is professional you must have a videographer.: I made a matching shoe bag for the garment bag gave as gifts.😊p.s. your nails and clothes make you shine ❤
Another great idea! My garment bags are showing their age! I use them to keep my clothes as dust free as possible, it is very dry where we live and the dust sticks from static cling, Garment bags work!! And I can reuse the zipper too! Thanks!!
What a fabulous idea. I needed a garment bag recently and purchased one from the $ store. Never even thought about making one myself. That will be my next project.
I haven't sewn in years. What wonderful little gadgets you found. I love the "chalk" marker, the iron, and the tape. I have but in many a zipper and it was always complicated by the straight pins. The tape is the ideal solution. Thank you.
@@fedirsymons2116 Thank you for asking. Everything is fine. I have a lot of work to do every day and we have moved to a small apartment where it is difficult to have all my sewing projects all over the place.
I had to make a garment bag for a friend’s Wedding Dress 2 weeks ago! It turned out similar to yours. Your video would have be great then Llol. Thank you for sharing.
I remeber your lovely hanger padding and pocket for secret storage for bras and special occasions garments in lovely, I belive , French design you make few years ago .
Hi there! Thanks for this awesome tutorial 😊 I'm about to start my own little project too. How many garments do you think could comfortably fit in this garment bag? And any suggestions on how to make this wider to accommodate more garments? Thanks again
