Thanks for this video. I updated my system, it's about a year old, this evening after watching your video. It only took me about 3 times but I finally did it. Now I just hope it looks right when I get out on the water. Thank you, Karl Kilgore Longview, TX
Thanks for the walk through! I finally got my ECHOMAP updated to 20.00; this was much easier than using the Active Captain path. Looking forward to getting back out on the water & trying it out!
I really appreciate you posting this. As of June 11, the Garmin website instructions clearly state to first download the 5GB file to your computer, copy it to a FAT32 formatted SD disk, then extract it. This will not work because of the 4GB file size limitation of FAT32. Again, my thanks.
Hello, Do one echomap download for all Garmin series? If so, can you use the same SD card for updating the 93sv then remove it and put it in the 106sv and download the same??
sad that I started out with dial up PC's long ago and can not get the SD card to work on my apple. going to the store and purchase a new card. However will I need 2 blank SD.s for my 73 & 93 and once downloaded install both new cards ? Garmin did change over ownership to me after buying the boat. Love the live scope really not having any issues and question the updates needed. 16.10 was the last update. Seems the steps are not the same with Mac..Active Captain shows me as the owner of the 2 units. Last question, why do you need to buy new SD cards every time a updates comes out ?
@@The_Garmin_Guru so a Mac lap top pc has issues with Garmin ? o well it works well enough at this time. Maybe someday Garmin will upgrade software for Mac.
Other the coarse of a year or two, the directions keep changing, Thanks for taking the time so show part of the process. But why is Every video on how to do this fail to show what you'll see on the fish finder, Everyone says to choose the right "choice"....Well the first time I tried this it took 2 hours and when done it had copies the maps on the fish finder to the sd card....huh! lol
Do i need to download a different update for my black box or does this do both? Thanks for all the videos I watch everyone and get so much information from them.
@@The_Garmin_Gurudo I need to have the transducer in water to apply the update? Someone told me to not turn the unit on unless the transducer is in the water. Thanks
Hey Garmin Guru! I seem to be coming across an issue each time I click "download" for the GPSMAPS updates, all it keeps doing is bringing me back to the first page for download manually, it will not bring me to the licence agreement page.
@@The_Garmin_Guru Well I did test it on the other updates (like Legacy for example) and it brings me to the agreement page then. So maybe it's a glitch on the website? Perhaps a bug? Because (i think) the Echo has the same issue as well.
Does the latest downloads cover the downloads that you have missed? Since I put on my new LVS34 my screens are freezing. Also do you have to be close to Good reception to download your card in your unit?
