Turning the motor will cause interference. Also would have like to see a GT56 on the TM for the price, as is though the GT56 won’t fit. I’d also love to see a follow contour feature instead of having to build a route on Active Captain. If you guys could nail down the GT56 and follow contour you could easily draw more people on the fence over to what’s already the best on the market. Great trolling motor I’ve owned 2 Ultrex’s and a ghost and the force is the best so far. and I love it just giving my experience so far.
I love the motor. The integration with the chart plotter is superb. My major two gripes: 1) it's too powerful for smaller boats. I have the sensitivity on 1 and it's still to powerful. It needs to be dialed down alot more. 2) I hate the prop switching off when you change different modes. Example, I go off anchor mode to move spots and I point to where I want to go and dial up the power, then notice that nothing is happening and the prop is disengaged = frustration.
57" shaft length isn't long enough. Please make this in a 63-65 inch shaft model. And also make an Ulterra competitor with shaft lengths up to 70 inch + range with remote stow and deploy.
I am a garmin user in Japan. I am currently using a garmin MFD for offshore boat fishing in saltwater and am very happy with Garmin's products. My boat (YAMAHA YFR24) is equipped with a Minn Kota trolling motor and I would like to replace it with a Garmin Force. Are there any plans to release a model with a shaft longer than 70 inches?

@@GarminInt Thanks for the reply. I immediately sent my idea to the innovation team via the form. I am looking forward to the day when I can use the Force for offshore boat fishing.
I couldn't be more disappointed with the Garmin trolling motor. I have used it 4 times. The first two times it seemed to work fine. the 3rd and 4th time it ruined my fishing trips. It drove erratically. It did severe turns at high speeds and would never settle in. The "Anchor" feature would have run me into a stationary boat if I hadn't turned it off a couple seconds before the collision. The heading hold feature also doesn't work. Now I read that there might be a crack in the heading sensor because the motor was allowed to go lower than it was designed to handle. The solution given is to run the motor six inches higher, which sucks because the shaft is already shorter than optimal for nearly any boat. It won't be long enough for my Carolina Skiff if there are 6" waves.
Hello Robert, I am sorry to hear of your disappointment with your Force Trolling motor. Please get in touch with our Trolling Motor Support team directly at the following link so they can look into which other options may be available to you. bit.ly/GarminContact-US Best Regards -MR
How about when I’m in shallow water and I get my bait stuck? Often times with my trolling motor I’ll pull it partly out of the water to get the shallow draft, and to keep my prop from getting banged up. Will I be able to do this with the auto stow feature when it automatically goes to the side as soon as I take it out of the water?
Hello Jacob, The motor will shut off after an inch or two, raises from full deployment position. The best solution would be to raise just the shaft instead of the entire motor. -MR
I have two Garmin fish finders and would love to purchase the Force this year... but I will get a competitor's trolling motor just because the cost is so outlandish.

Garmin-I tried that. The message that I received directly back from product support is that product development does not communicate at all with product support and that they have repeatedly passed along the concern to product development with no reply.
