Tried out the Garmin PacePro feature on my new Fenix 6X with a 30KM run (with the dog!) I show how to set it up, what data it shows in use and the benefits of running with it.
Thank you for posting this video. I started running - jogging actually - in January and got a Garmin Forerunner in March. The watch is amazing and has motivated me to do more. I’m surprised that I actually enjoy getting out for a jog. I have a 5K race coming up and wanted to use PacePro to help me get through it. Your video is very helpful in showing how to move through the various screens and settings.
Watched the video yesterday and used the Pace Pro on my Fenix 6X to run my first ever 15k today. Great stuff Mark, I'm hooked and I'm convinced the channel is going to just continue blowing up!
Thank you 🙏🏻 for your video, it has really helped me understand the Pace Pro feature. The Garmin 6x is no doubt the best when it comes to running & I hope Garmin takes into consideration your wish of launching their next version with a cellular data plan. 👍🏻
Mark, class video mate! I've just got the 6x Pro. Glad to see you were also at my home course, Nuclear Races for the OCRWC! 👊🏼 Absolutely love your garage setup, I used to have a 250 FE Husqvarna, but was stolen! Love the videos mate!! 👊🏼
Wow, very good and informative video, that's a pity than sometimes i don't understand what you are saying because of your strong British accent but it's my ears fault :D I didn't know this feature. I have been only one month with the watch and it's amazing how many interesting features it has. Thanks for your vid!
I laughed about your comment on the Apple Watch. Mine is literally sitting on my bedside table and has been since I got the garmin. There is just no comparison in any way when it comes to its fitness features and capabilities. My wife has also switched from her Samsung watch to a garmin and loves it.
Awesome detail thanks. Good to see the Fenix ousting the Apple. Agree adding phone / data would be the next big jump for Garmin ... or maybe Apple make a rugged Watch. Hmmm.
I am looking at getting a GoPro Hero 9 Black at some point in order to film vehicles that seem to keep running red lights in order to get on to the freeway disobeying traffic laws and endangering lives, recently mine and more than once. Please let me know if you've had similar experiences.I am working on using the Pro Pace Feature on the Garmin Fenix Pro 6X so I am looking forward to your video. Great job on the Wolverine Medal, I am 66 retired lower back bulging disc issues so I am using the metrics from the Fenix watch with the Garmin Running Dynamics Pad to reduce ground contact time along with other metrics.
@mark lewis, great vid.. i have a question when following a route you dont know and following the navigation.. i discovered there is above the normal symbol indicating your position.. there is also a gray pointing symbol. I believe but i am not sure thats indicating where you should be at the moment.. like a indicator.. have you observed that aswell?
Great video. Really informative. Unfortunately I don't have Pacepro on my Fenix 5xplus. So don't tell to my wife, but I need a new watch...LOL. Keep it ip bro!!
Music. It can do that. Garmin 6X has that feature, and its without the phone. Download songs to the watch and connect your headphones to the watch. Great run.!
Have you tried the Data Field : Readable R&T Pacer? I use it on my Vivoactive 3 so compatible with lower model watches but allows very fine split pacing.
Super video. Tnx Mark! Got myself Fenix 6X Pro. Do you by any chance find the turn-by-turn unreliable pse? Sometimes I get it (actually both before and after turns on a course) but other times I get to a t-junction on a track and just silence from the watch. I have to be on the map display, or have memorized the course in order to use PacePro. Just wondered how or if you got reliable TbT so you can look at data fields while running and rely on prompts for turns. Thanks in advance if you have time to reply. Cheers, Neil
@@MarkLewisfitness thanks. I'll stop trying to find a fix then. Must think up a system to get back to map quickly from PacePro, maybe by reducing number of data screens I have
Awesome explanation. Did You try it on a bike? My fenix6xsaphire can play music without iPhone tried it with the AirPods Pro, I even think using Deezer it sounds better than with the iPhone
After searching found out pacepro is only for running outside... still big thanks have to get running in my training anyway again. Great review and inspiration
Pretty awesome video.. dog must be in awesome condition! What is his longest distance? ANyway I'm considering the Fenix.. I'm on the fence on buying a Apex premium 42mm for $300 mainly for the long battery life and small 42mm size/weight... but that pace pro feature is awesome.. I'll have to check if they have a similar feature on the Apex
Hey Mark, great video! Are you allowing fans of your youtube channel to connect with you via Garmin Connect? Would be great if you did and we can learn even more from you. I enjoy your channel and hope to see more educational videos of you (Nixon) and your Garmin watch
Mark, you mention after switching to the Garmin losing the ability to listen to music/take calls because of the lack of a cellular in the fenix device. Well a workaround of instead of carrying your phone is to upload music to the Apple Watch (take of the strap if you like) and stuff it into a pocket and listen to music off it while using your fenix to handle the workouts. Just a thought.
Jason oliver I do this. Wear my FR945 on my left wrist (chest strap also) and AWS4 on my right wrist. I actually track the workout with both watches. That way I get the detailed data on Connect, but also meet my goals on the AW, which I wear most of the day while at work. I also get to leave my phone behind and control music with the AW. Plus it’s interesting to see the GPS difference and data differences between the two watches.
Why not just load the music onto the 6X? I think al 6X's come with music functionality and sufficient memory. I've got a couple of Gb of music on mine.
Watching this video 2 years after release: You now (try to) run with an apple watch again and are not asking for a cheese sponsor since you've gone vegan. Though I don't think that you've changed your favourite movie genre to romcom yet.
