In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens ru-vid.comUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.
Yes but it’s confusing. The clear view on the plus 4 has a clear view tab but it only picks up structures and not fish. They do offer a model that does have a true clear view fish finder but it’s closer to $200
Does the depth finder on the top left of screen reach beyond 5ft? Great video thank you for sharing Also on Yamaha site this same one lists for 318.99, where did you get it so cheap?
Yeah I have used it in 30 foot of water but I was just fishing shallow for that video. I bought it at Dicks Sporting Goods when it was on sale. Hope that helps!
Thanks for the review, I'm actually looking at this for my small sailboat and you gave the clearest concise look at this I've seen. Can't beat the price and features on this plus garmin is a solid brand. Cheers and hope the fish are biting wherever you are
How did you mount your transducer? I’m thinking about getting one for my yak-but I’m undecided whether to putty it to the inside of the hull (which would be nice and tidy), or to get a swivel arm for outside of the boat. Thanks man
I glued the mount to the side of the paddle boat so that way I can remove the equipment when I get ready to store it and just snap it in place when I use it.
I wondered the same when it happened and I realized that I was in 3.5 feet of water and the fish was outside on the solar cone that basically runs straight below the boat.
My brother just gave me this fish finder so I don't know how to use it yet but I was wondering if the clear vu mode shows fish or if they only show up in the traditional mode?
My Stryker 4 is incredible as a low cost fishfinder. As a chart plotter, not so much. Really thought it had marine charts as part of the software. Nope. So now I use Active Captain on my phone and the Garmin strictly as a fishfinder with heading, speed, water temp, and depth displayed. Still consider it a great buy though.
@@Battlenut1 Hey bro, it does not have an internal battery. I usually use an external 12V battery for my Striker plus 4 and dual beam-IF. It works perfectly.
