This is a quick video at the range with the Garmin Tactix 7 Plus with Ballistics and the Sig Kilo8k paired up together. I will show how quick it can be to range your targets with the Kilo8k and make a target card with the Applied Ballistics Algorithm on the watch. I will do a more in-depth video at longer ranges in the future. Please like, subscribe, share and leave a comment with any questions you might have on this watch or rangefinder. Thank you all for all your support .

You can also go to different menus. You can have range cards, it will tell you set dopes, has a fast calculator (dial in your distance and it adjusts), etc. If you train enough and learn your dopes, it's handy for quick calculations too. I have had mine for a bit over a year. I couldn't recommend it enough. I swim, run, shoot, hike, etc in it and it's a champ.

Do you only get distance when pairing? Finally received mine and paired to the Terrapin-X but it only gives distance, not the shooting and target angles like it does on my kestrel. You were right about pressure not updating correctly. This will be nice to have for quick look ups on the 22 but definitely sticking to the kestrel. Still love this watch though.

Hi SF, Yes I only get distances on my watch when paired with the rangefinder, you can input distances manually. I looked at my target card and checked out each target from when I was at the range that day and it did have all the different angles for each target I ranged. So with the Sig Kilo8k does give angles, but I'm not sure about the Terrapin-X, check your target card. Thanks for watching and the comment, take care.

Hello ! So rangefinder give data to garmin ! But does garmin give solution back to rangefinder ?
@bcextremeoutdoorsman
@bcextremeoutdoorsman 2 года назад
Hi, Dimitrii, In the rangefinder there will be no solution only distance, direction, angle and corrected distance for the angle. The solution only goes to the watch. The watch doesn't seem to be giving the corrected angle solution either, so if it's a long shot with a high angle you'll have to adjust the Angled Modified Range manually. Which is easy to do. Great question, thanks for watching and the comment, take care.

Hello, I would like to know if the watch can connect with a kestrel. If so, what information is she sharing ?
@bcextremeoutdoorsman
@bcextremeoutdoorsman Год назад
His Robbe, I don't think it will connect up with the Kestrel, I have never done it. About the only useful info it would share is direction of fire and wind speed. The watch does everything else. Thanks for watching and the comment, take care. Oh and I still love my watch.

Does the Tactix 7 use AB Elite?... does it offer firing solutions passed 800yds with the SIG KILO BDX system? I was looking at the Foretrex 701/901 till I stumbled across this
@bcextremeoutdoorsman
@bcextremeoutdoorsman Год назад
Hi Rob, the Tactix 7 uses the Applied Ballistics Algorithm, I believe the Elite is a model of Kestrel. If you are using the sig 3000 binos, for example, the solution displayed on the watch will be for any distance as you are not using the Algorithm in the binos, you are using the Algorithm in the watch. I hope this helps and I am really liking my watch still. Thanks for watching and the comment, take care.

@@bcextremeoutdoorsman I really appreciate your comment and I wish you much success downrange. The AB Elite is the Applied Ballistics software that enables unlimited possible combinations for shooting parameters and distances. AB Lite is still Applied Ballistics software but it's nowhere near as comprehensive and was designed for your Average Shooter hunting with off the shelf loads out to 800yards. You mentioned the Kestrel Elite. It's name was derived from the fact that it carries on board Applied Ballistics Elite software. When you pair your Kestrel Elite to your BDX Rangefinder and Scope, it unlocks unlimited firing solutions out to(and even beyond) the max distance of your bdx rangefinder. Through my research I've found that the older Garmin Foretrex 701, The KESTREL Elite, The Tactix 7 Pro Ballistic and the Tactix Delta Ballistic all have Applied Ballistics Elite as their Base Software(unlocking max range and potential combinations of your Sig BDX) The New "improved" Foretrex 901 and a host of other Garmin devices do not come standard with the Applied Ballistics Elite, but you can buy an upgraded subscription to it... Long Story Short... you got the good watch(one of 2 possible).. My journey into even discovering the Tactix 7 Pro Solar Ballistic started with trying to decide between a Kestrel Elite, a Foretrex 701 or a Foretrex 901.... Didn't know about the Tactix 7 or Tactix Delta... Once again, thank you

Hi there this is Dave again and I got my new Garmin, and it seems to be working great with mySig ballistic rangefinder. I have one question when you are using your rangefinder that is paired to your watch. Does the watch profile have to be the same as what is on the rangefinder. Example if I’m shooting a 243 and I have this on my Sigg ballistic rangefinder do I have to go onto the profile of my watch, and be on the 243
@bcextremeoutdoorsman
@bcextremeoutdoorsman Год назад
Hi Dave, yes you would need the ballistics profile for the caliber you are shooting on your watch. The watch will only use the distance from the range finder. Thanks again for watching an the comment, take care and I’m glad Garmin took care of you.

Hey man I have been trying to find the answer for days but can't. When you put in the range and the watch says for example Elevation 2.58U does that mean click up 2.58 clicks from where the rifle is zeroed? so if my rifle is zeroed at 100m and my target is 300m away my watch says 1.56 1 click = 0.1mil so is that 15 clicks cause 0.1x15 is 1.5 then 6 more clicks to get that last 6? I really am struggling to understand how this works and I do not know anyone who owns firearms who could help me and I've watched about 30 videos and haven't been given an answer. please help me understand how to translate the data on the watch to my scope?
@bcextremeoutdoorsman
@bcextremeoutdoorsman Год назад
Hi EleMexican, sorry I was out bear hunting. Zero your rifle at 100m and set your turret to zero. At 300m if your watch is telling you to dial up 1.56 mils. Turn the the dial up 1.6 that will be 16 clicks up. Each click is a tenth and ten tenths is a mil. I hope this helps, any other questions just ask. Thanks for watching and the comment. Look through my videos I have another video on understanding mils and MOA. Take care.

I was at a rifle range in line with the firing line and the only other guys at the range were friends of mine. So there was no danger of being there or firing from there. Im shooting off of props that we put there to practice on and use for matches. Thank you for watching and the comment, take care.

Says dial up 0.9. Is that in mils?
@bcextremeoutdoorsman
@bcextremeoutdoorsman 11 месяцев назад
Hi, yes a 0.9 would be in mils and would be 9 clicks. Thanks for watching and the comment, take care.

How are you liking the Tactix 7? Worthwhile to get over a Kestrel?
@bcextremeoutdoorsman
@bcextremeoutdoorsman Год назад
Hi Keith, I really like the watch, but it’s no substitute for a kestrel. If you are only going to purchase one I would get the the kestrel. But I still love the watch and all the features are awesome. Thanks for watching and the comment, take care.
