The Venu 2 is the follow-up to the Venu, Garmin's first watch to include a colour touchscreen AMOLED display. With the Venu 2, there's the promise of a bigger, higher resolution display, longer battery life and a host of software improvements.
If you had the money to spend on one of these watches to track your runs, which one should you get? Mike has been living with both watches to see how they match up to help answer that question.

Does it help to maintain or improve your pace considering it does not have PacePro?

So, you obviously need the ability to upload courses to utilise PacePro which they lack. You do still have the ability to set up alerts based on pace to help you keep that in check.

I got an Instinct for Christmas and I'm comparing if the Venu is better than that. It won't be for running, mostly for hiking and day to day notifications from my phone/apps. Any suggestions and reasons, I can't seem to find videos comparing them well.

Hey, Mike here. So I think you've got a solid watch in the Instinct. Bit of a surprise fave from my testing last year. The obvious ones would be the difference in screen types and the more basic navigation features you get on the Venu compared to the Instinct. The colour display on the Venu also means you're getting less battery life in comparison too. I'd say those are the key things for me.

I've had both the Vivoactive 4s and the Venu 2S (still have the 2s). Imo the original Venu is basically a Vivoactive 4 with an Oled display, so with that in mind you could use this review to compare those two as well.

I wish The venu and venu 2 had some of the options other watches in their line has. Especially for 400$. I am using my friends venu and training with it compared to my vivoactive 3 ( really just seeing if it would be worth it to buy.)

I bought the venu 2 last week. Great watch, love it. Totally surprised there's no Trail run activity on it.. like what? No one reported that

Hey (Mike here) There should be a few trail running data fields you can download from Connect IQ. I know there was some for the original Venu

@@TheRunTesters I did some research and yes there's a paid one called app4trail. I guess I could also just use the Hike activity and manually rename it. I don't think it will be a big deal for me. Thanks for the reply.

@@TheRunTesters Something has changed because Trail run is there now. All you have to do is Add a new activity, duplicate the Run activity, and you are given a lot of choices on what to duplicated it as. One of those choices is Trail run. Happy camper! No 3rd party stuff reqruied. You have to do this on your watch

I'm torn between the two and Galaxy Watch 4. It is really hard to decide. Battery doesn't bother me that much, when you run it drains similarly so you'll need to charge there. Between Venu original and 2 I think I will go for Original (and keep it if I were you) as it does not seem it bears that many improvements and the price is not worth it. The Samsung.... Reviews I've read state is less accurate in GPS (although no direct comparisons to Venu) but I really like Samsung's advanced stats about running. Do you recommend Venu even now? What's the durability?
