I just ordered mine & can’t wait to receive it. Garmin is running a $100 off special on the vivoactive currently until 4/4 for anyone else pondering the purchase.
Thank you for this, I’m moving up from a Fit Bit to this very watch, been looking at it for a few weeks but watching this review has really helped, and it’s offer in curry’s at moment. Thanks again x
Been on the fence for a little while (whilst watching my beloved fitbit slowly die on me) and your video was my final push to purchase this exact watch! Thanks for such a clear review :)
Brilliant review, greetings from down-under from an ex Essex girl lol, I've been umming and arghing over which watch for months, Garmin, Suunto, Fitbit, Samsung and keep coming back to the Vivoactive 4S, your review was perfect and has convinced me to rush and grab it! thanks for such a clear and to the point review! Cheers :) oxo
Hi Yvonne! Thank you so much for this comment, I am so glad this was helpful & you are loving your watch! I am still wearing mine daily & it works perfectly for everything I want to do still! Love that you are an ex Essex too! xx
I am dithering over this or the Venu 2. Was this ever a contender for you, and if so, what made you choose the VivoActive 4? (apart from price of course!)
Hi Laura! The Venu 2 looks like an awesome watch and probably what I would choose to go for next actually! The features are very similar it appears but the Venu 2 seems to be a little more accurate again and a little more advanced in terms of the data it provides which if you are like me and love tracking those variables this looks like a great watch! The only downside I can see is that the price point is a little higher! x
Heya, could you confirm is the watch you are wearing in this video is the Vivoactive 4 or the 4S, I have really skinny wrist and worried the 4 might be way to big wheras the one you are wearing in the video looks like its a perfect fit :)
Thank u I have just purchased this today... I had to return my fitbit sense as I didn't like it and battery life was awful. It was probably just a faulty one but it put me rite off it. So your video has definately put me at ease xx
I bought mine yesterday and am also an ex-Fitbit girl (also around 2016) and fell out of love when the Charge 3 screen failed after under 2 yrs and Fitbit refused to replace). I'm really battling with Garmin settings (so much more technical) but your vid is giving me hope. My initial problem is the brightness. Even within set high/low, it looks washed out compared to yours. Is it a setting or is my watch defective?
Hi Sandy! Thank you for your comment, exciting that you have a new toy! So in terms of the brightness my watch when just in a non-active state is faded but as soon as I move it towards me or tap the screen it flashes on much brighter. I have mine set to a turquoise colour :) x
Sooooo, is your watch still working 😂wanted to post and check before I buy one seeing as the most recent comment was 5 months ago 😅do you ever use it for running? ❤
My Fitbit versa lite died on me basically. It wouldn’t sync to my phone/app anymore. I’ve been researching Garmin watches (my sister told me about them. She has one and loves it.) this one sticks out the most to me. I like all the features it comes with, a lot more then Fitbit does! I used my Fitbit mostly for heart rate for my asthma and tracking steps and stuff, and so I need a new watch that can do that sorta thing. I think I’m pretty set on this one :) if you have any tips or suggestions for picking a watch or about the garmin watches please let me know :)
Hi Mickaela! Thank you so much for your message, I think you have hit the nail on the head! I am still loving my Garmin and it is still working perfectly. I think the data is much more detailed than the fitbit and I can rely on the data to tell me more about my overall health impact :) xx
Garmin says you can not turn off extremely annoying "move" alerts. What the heck? Even fitbit allows that. Certain Garmin watches do not allow disable. Is there a planned software update for this or should I return my watch now?
Hi! Thank you so much for your comment! I completely understand your frustration. I actually don't mind the alerts now I am used to them however they can be irritating for sure. In all honestly, because of the accuracy of the watch in all of its other features & its versatility I would say if you can live with them, keep the watch regardless because it excels in so many other areas :) And those alerts just remind me that I am alive haha! x
hey! I don't know which Garmin watch you're using, but for this Vivoactive 4s, you can switch those off! it's under Settings > Activity Tracking > Move Alert (toggle on/off)
Hi, I have been using fitbit from past 7 years, thanks for mentioning how you reached to conclusion fot making a switch. I want to move from fitbit ecosystem because thier quality sucks and I have broken atleast 8 watches in past 7 years and thier customer service is horrendous to deal with now. Qq why did you not chose garmin Swim 2 ? I can't decide between the two. Thanks.
Hi! Thank you so much for your comment! I remember when choosing my watch I wanted the full list of features and at the time swim didn't have something - it may have been music or the pay option! Also the swim is more focussed to that activity and my 3 main activities are cycling, strength training and walking :) x
Thank you so much for your Video! Have you already tried the swimming mode? Is ist accurate (except heart rate, weich can vary a lot I guess)? And does the watch have a skiing Mode? Would you also recommend a protective Foul? I also think about buying it!😊
Hi! Thank you so much for your comment! I have tried it whilst swimming but only in the sea and it seems to work great! I just make sure its fairly tight on my wrist to get the best readings! I am not sure about the skiing mode though, its so personalised though via the app I expect it does. I wish I could try it but due to lockdown in UK no snow for me! I was worried about protection but mine is still in perfect condition and its been bashed a few times! I highly recommend! X
It made me very happy to see you only have 49 mins of deep sleep a night, I’m around 40 mins a night and had convinced myself I was going to die early 😂😂
Hi i'm considering buy this watch. Great review! How is the battery? Does it last you all day? I currently have the Samsung active and have to charge it every day or every other day depending on how I use it
hi! I have this watch and have been using it for close to 2 weeks now, I usually only have to charge it once every 3-5 days depending on my usage. generally, I don't wear it to sleep and I have the PulseOx switched off, and I also have a pretty minimalist watch face selected (not too many numbers ticking away on screen all the time), so that's how I've been stretching the battery life a bit more. love mine to bits and am happy to share more!
Hi! thank you so much for your comment, I charge mine every 4 days ^ have every setting turned on so I use it quite a lot! I am impressed with the battery life! x
Hey, had been looking for a replacement for my Fitbit Ionic as it broke after 2 years. I was thinking of getting the Versa 3 until I've seen reviews of some Garmin watches including this and the Instinct Solar.
Hi! Thank you so much for your comment. The watches are exactly the same the 4s is just a smaller face and I wear the 4s 😊 i really like the music option! X
I am looking to get a new fitness watch, I use Fitbit now. Does the Garmin app allow food tracking? If so how does it compare to Fitbit? If not how do you track your food? thank you!!! Great review by the way!
I've read a lot of places that the heart rate is really off with this clock, for example on Garmins forums, but it's mostly posted 1 year ago. Do you know anything about this? Have you even compared it to a heart rate monitor? Don't know if i want to buy this one or the Polar Ignite, hmm
Hi! Thank you so much for your comment, I haven't compared it to my Wahoo Tickr chest monitor for some time but I found that generally the watch can be a little slow to recognise the increase in heart rate (for example when I first get out riding it may take 5 minutes for my watch to catch up) as I feel like my heart is working harder than what is being registered. That may just be my level of un-fitness though! I would say when i look back at my heart rate over the day & exercise activities though it seems spot on to what I would expect. A watch will never be as accurate as a chest strap however so I would consider getting a chest monitor too when exercising for the most accurate response. x
Yes absolutely! I haven't had a proper chance to try it in the water yet due to the many lockdowns in the UK but I'll definitely try & do one for sure!
Hi Stacy! Thank you so much for your comment! I am wearing the 4S version and I have very small wrists too! I was worried it would be too big but it feels absolutely perfect and actually no where near as big as I expected! Hope this is helpful xx
@@tlycats65 oh yes I know which bit you mean! At first I did notice it a little but after maybe 2 or 3 days I adjusted to it completely. I wear my watch 100% of the time and don't think about it or notice it at all now 😊 xxx
I have the Vivoactive 3 Music, had it just over a year but the shoulder broke on it and wouldn’t hold the strap. Garmin were brilliant a 5 minute online chat and swapped it straight away. Didn’t have my black colour so they offered the granite blue and rose gold colour which looks amazing. Took about 5 days from chat to replacement. The sp02 really interests me so will be upgrading to Garmin in the future especially with their customisation of watch faces and excellent customer service. But agree pandemic or no pandemic 3 weeks is a bit of a wait!
@@ALittleBitAnouska 🤣🤣 I’m sorry, wasn’t fishing for a compliment, just wanted to let you know that you made my day. And these days, I’ll take what few smiles that I can get. 😉
@@ALittleBitAnouska Should do, yeah. If I got them I'd pair with my Trek Titanium headphones. These are awesome for running and cycling. You can hear the traffic and listen to tunes. Then leave the phone at home for a run.
Hi! Thanks for your review. Mine has recently turned up and I am just getting to grips with it. You mention that it tracks your route when running without a phone, when I went for a run without my phone the watch correctly measured distance and timing but didn't seem to track my route in terms of laying over a map. E.g. When opening garmin connect/Strava after the run there was no route breakdown. Did you find the same? Thanks in advance!
Hi! Thank you so much fornyour comment & great question! Ill test this out tomorrow for sure! I dont remember having any problems but ill check it out 😊 x
Greetings from Greece! So... 1) Have you ever tried it while practicing yoga? And if you had, how was it? 2) How does it feel wearing it while sleeping? Thank you. :)
Hi Violet! Thank you for your comment! I do wear it whilst practicing my yoga however I havent used Yoga section but I will actually try this today and let you know how it goes! The cool thing is that is has the option to track your yoga or pilates exercises though which is cool! I wear mine to sleep always and feel more uncomfortable without it! Lots of data is recieved when sleeping which is great and I don't notice it at all when sleeping 😊 xxx
Hi Mel! How are you? Ah I hope this has helped! I honestly couldn't recommend the Garmin enough. There are so many aspects to it which I haven't even had a chance to properly explore but so far there is nothing I don't love! It gives you far more information than the Fitbit does & I love it for exercise because it feels much more precise and stable! xx
Hi Susan! Thank you so much for your message! Yes absolutely. I am thinking of doing an overall review of how to use the Wahoo app, the bolt & zwift all in one as there are so many ways to use the trainer! So super cool. I am just putting off doing an FTP until the last minute haha!
@@ALittleBitAnouska I love your videos Anouska! I have done the FTP test and was surprised by how much fun it was (in a 'OMG why am I doing this?' kind of way!!) Have fun 😀
Hi! Great question! Battery life is significantly better than my fitbit, I am charging my Garmin every 5 days at the moment & that is with the pulse Ox on, with that turned off I get around an extra two days. Hope that helps :) x
hi! I have this watch and it fits well for me; my wrist circumference is 15cm and it doesn't look or feel bulky at all. I've been using it for close to 2 weeks now, I usually only have to charge it once every 3-5 days depending on my usage. generally, I don't wear it to sleep and I have the PulseOx switched off, and I also have a pretty minimalist watch face selected (not too many numbers ticking away on screen all the time), so that's how I've been stretching the battery life a bit more. love mine to bits and am happy to share more!
Hi! Thank you so much for your comment! I have quite small wrists at 15cm and wear the 4s. I feel like it fits perfectly for me! I was a little nervous how large it would be but actually I could happily wear the standard 4! Battery wise I have everything on and use it a fair bit and charge every 3 / 4 days 😊 x
@@ALittleBitAnouska Thanks a lot for your response! I'm thinking about getting a smaller for my wife and bigger version for myself. And your response is encouraging so as our review of it :)
@@antinovel Sorry, I didn't spot your response first, and it's good to hear that 4s can last up to 5 days, though I'd prefer to wear it during my sleep as want to have that data too.
Stunning.... the watch that is 😜 I’ve had my Garmin watch funnily enough since lockdown too when got into riding. Soooo good ur luv ur watch. When ur average resting hr is fair bit higher than usual you know to back off a bit as ur knackered or possibly getting ill lol. Also luv that don’t need to take phone out so just ur watch and headphones 😄. Enjoy your be playing with it loads lol
