I upgraded to this watch this was very helpful. I did have to stop and go back several times as it is fast through some instructions This is user friendly. I could understand you well.

Thanks for the vid, it's very informative. I bought this watch several days ago and think I may take it back. I'm one of those people that you mentioned in the vid about the watch having way too much stuff on it. I've been wearing a Fitbit Charge 5 but that has failed me because it kept shutting off randomly. Anyway, I may returned this watch and try the Venu SQ2, which I think is similar to the Charge 5 and 6 but a bit more pricier. I don't need all the bells and whistles that come with a smart watch, only sleep, heart and fitness tracking. Thank you!

Hi Ray, Thanks so much for both of your Vivoactive 5 reviews. Your reviews finalized my decision to purchase the Vivoactive 5, my first fitness watch. Also Garmin has reduced the Vivoactive 5's price to $249.00 USD, (currently at least here in USA, matching the price of that other ever popular competitively priced SE smart watch from Cupertino). A this price the purchase decision was a no-brainer for me. I used the watch during both indoor and outdoor cycling workouts and found the heart rate measurements were surprisingly consistent with the results from my Polar H-10. My results were relatively consistent with your evaluation of the Vvivoactive 5's heart rate measurements, with my results within 1%-2% of those from the H-10. While the the Vivoactive 5 was slightly slower to respond to heart rate increases and decreases when starting and completing higher power efforts, the 1-3 second lag was well within my acceptable expectations. The amoled display is beautiful and is easily visible with clarity both indoors and outside in bright sun. Agree, Garmin has far to many different watch models, quite confusing for the consumer. Awesome fitness watch at a great price. Take care.

Good overview! Does the Vivoactive 5 support training effect? It seemed a little like it does around minute 23, but I'm not certain. It doesn't say much about it on the product website

Garmin did it and through almost all their software features in their cheaper watches. I just wish their heart rates sensors as good as Apple's and Huawei's

The sleep tracker, which I suggest they add and what I loved about my amazefit, I bought this watch from Garmin to replace it, they should add the sleep phases , even if is 86% accuracy, bc it still shows a general sense of. How you sleep Amazefit also asks you about your HRV in the night, what you did, exercise, drink, anger, TV etc , and gives you suggestions in app, which I like as well I'll try the Garmin out, but I may switch to the Amazefit Active for 119$

I understand that this can be used for playing golf. Did you review this feature?

Thanks for the content, I've had an issue with mine that I cannot seem to get to the bottom of. I connect my earphones and am listening to my music (spotify) but when I launch the run app it turns off my music and doesn't come back on. the GPS will connect and i can start my run. the only way to get the music back is by stopping the run app and connecting to bluetooth again. I can't do both at the same time. any ideas would be appreciated.

Any ideas about pairing my hearing aids with this watch? Spent about 30 minutes yesterday with tech support and they couldn't help me. just purchased my 1st garmin vivoactive 5 and this video is extremely helpful. Curious why only 2 of my spotify playlists are showing on my watch. I have a favorites that has over 100 songs but i can't get it to sync. any suggestions would be appreciated.

What about a Venu 2 Plus? Is there a big difference between a Venu 2 Plus and a Vivoactive 5?

When you cancel out of syncing a playlist to say go for a run do u have to sync it again when u are back to get the rest of the tracks on that playlist or does it do that automatically when plugged in ?

Really i have to enter pin to pay by card? It is less comfortable than phone with fingerprint reader or faceid.

Whoever has it, can you confirm you have to put your PIN everytime you have to pay? In that case is a bit useless as the reason why you pay with your smartwatch is because you wanna do it quick amd simple.

Aod can be pretty useless outdoors. I really miss the mip display, with mip i could easily glance at the watch at any angle outdoors and see the screen no problem
