@@reptidan especially the way he reacts after Quickie trips him. if you don't deserve that you're gonna be in that goalie's face until the D pulls you outta the crease
If you think this wasn’t intentional, ask yourself how often you see a player fall like that. Almost never. At best you can call it extremely reckless.
Like everyone, I want to believe the kick was unintentional. BUT, the awkwardness of the movement on replay, coupled with Hathaway's lack of response/offense to Quick's trip, makes this a little alarming (esp for a player like GH). It's almost like GH knew he was in the wrong... wouldn't be surprised if the league reviewed this given recent events.
Nhl today always have “staged“ fights between each teams’ two enforcers (well whats left of them) but in heated situations,or for retaliations,no one drops the gloves or the refs stop them right away!!! 🤦🏻♂️
I don't know if he was trying to kick him in the head but he was clearly trying to embellish being off balance in an attempt to get at Quick. Quick is known to retaliate so he is a goalie you can get to draw a penalty. Just odd all around and quite dangerous. Penalties for both sounds right. Hathaway needs to watch himself in those kinds of situations if he wants to stay in the league.
The kick back was definitely intentional. He had already stopped his momentum before his left leg kicked backwards. I don't think he was going for Quick though, I think he was trying to kick back at Lindgren to trip him or "get pushed" into Quick and missed.
Watching islanders rangers right now, Romanov reverse hit on Trocheck and his skate goes even higher than Hathaway’s did here trying to keep his balance on one leg. Did Trocheck try to kill Romanov? No it was a hockey play just like this… you people are delusional if you think Hathaway did this on purpose.
@italianstallion399 I watched him play junior. Just about every home game. So I'm calling bullshit on your claim.....never happened, never was he suspended in jr for kicking someone....so I don't think, I know. Run along, your milk and cookies are ready.
@@user-ru8ks2zx7e your IQ has to be REALLY low to think filthy Petgrave didn't intentionally kick him. Thank god the animal is going to prison where he belongs. Hope his fudge gets packed
@@user-ru8ks2zx7e Yeah, these people have been trying to set a narrative for months and are mad it won't stick. It was a horrible accident and all it was.
I don't think that was intentional because if it was, it would unironically make Hathaway one of if not the dirtiest player in NHL history. We just saw a guy die from a skate blade this year
@@tp3821 I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt that he was counter balancing and the leg went up high, because the alternative is that he just tried to kill the goalie. I've played lmao
Should be suspended. Was watching a man get his jugular sliced open and bleeding out on the ice not enough? There is absolutely no reason your skates should leave the ice like that just fall to the ground. Puck was cleared anyway. Charge this man and change the narrative. I'm not even a rangers fan and I'm pissed
So I’m just going off what I saw it doesn’t look like an accident he’s got 1 hand on the ice and 1 leg on the ice all he’s gotta do is put his other leg back down on the ice. Instead he swings it up behind himself very awkwardly. I’m not saying it was 100% intentional but it definitely looks very suspect. I’d like to see a suspension just for how dangerous the play could have been. If any precedent needs to be set it needs to be set that skates stay on the ice at all times before someone else dies “accidentally on purpose”
Hathaway was definitely looking to crash into quick if the d man bumped him at all. When that plan didn't work, he decides to throw his skate up into the air to try to draw something. What a scumbag, especially after what happened to that player in Europe
the refs obviously seeing him get tripped out of his shoes and not call it 4 on 4 is what makes the nhl officiating special amongst north american sports. they always call it by the book by exactly the right amount haha
