NHL: Game Misconducts 

I'm a simple hockey fan. I see a Jen95 video, I lose a few hours rewatching compilations until game time.

Imagine getting boarded, jumping up and taking care of it yourself, then getting ejected for not tying down your jersey.

Kolesar "That's BS he fell and hit his mouth on the boards." True, after you drove your elbow through the back of his head.

Watching the Peitrangelo one live I couldn't believe he did that. One of the craziest hacks I've ever witnessed. Curious what would have happened if Drai got injured as a result.

13:43 Imagine talking on top of the penalty announcement. I'd have the same reaction as the other commentator. Sounded very annoyed by the guy talking over...

I like how Stars fans cheered for Benn cross checking a guy who was on the ground as if that wouldn't get called.

Kolesar's hit, that's not "catching a guy in a bad spot". It's 100% boarding, plain and simple. Don't hit the guy if you can see his numbers. Even the kids playing in the backyard know that.

As a Stars fan, seeing that Benn cross check was a shock but at the same time it wasn’t. Not shocking he could/would do that, but shocking that he couldn’t contain his emotion that deep into the playoffs, as a captain of a team that depends on you to be their leader. The rest of the game followed suit & was an utter clusterfuck, a complete unraveling of every playoff game up to that point. Plays were sloppy, short dudes blew up everywhere, and those emotions boiled over into the seats & back onto the ice via objects thrown. I’ve never seen a Stars game go THAT wrong before, and for once I understood how embarrassing it felt being on that side of the drama unfolding. I tried to bear through it till I saw the popcorn thrown at Hill, that’s when I shut it off & accepted the season was over. Those next 2 games were insane & I enjoyed each of them, but we can never let that kind of thing happen again.

Stars fan here, Jamie Benn's penalty was disgusting to all Stars fans, i was fuming with anger when i saw him do that, and his excuse was just complete bullcrap. I'm hoping Benn loses his C soon cause after that stupid crosscheck and crap excuse he doesn't deserve it anymore

Some of the most egregious no calls happened during last seasons playoffs. I can't believe some of that slid.

Foligno’s hit looked like he just lined up the shoulder wrong, but the call for it makes sense.

the foligno hit on faksa was kind of a dumb call honestly, foligno doesn't actively move his leg out and he's clearly going for a body check that just doesn't connect. obviously it was a big hit but a game misconduct for an accident seems harsh. i know the commentators are usually pretty biased but i think they were right on that one, saying that it doesn't look like foligno ever changed his path to make the hit

Surprised Benn is still the Stars captain after last playoffs idk thought he would've lost that C along with him just not being a good player anymore that was such a bad play in such a pivotal game

I hate this play with Kolesar and Ekholm a play eairly similar to this one ended my hockey season/career as it was 5th concussion and it was highly recommended that I stopped playing. So after some thought that’s what I did. But very scary still get goosebumps whenever I see plays like that

1:49 In case you don't know, the NHL released a statement saying that the refs made the wrong call on that play, and it should have just been a tripping minor. But that call was just the tip of the iceberg in that series. Horrible, horrible officiating all around in the Wild-Stars series. I lost track of how many times thugs like Suter and Benn got away with nasty, dirty hits, including several cross-checks to a Kirill Kaprizov who had recently come back from a lower body injury that kept him off the ice for nearly a month.

Folnigo’s seems harsh, looks like an incidental collision while chasing a loose puck. However, these things rarely get overturned as they always looks worse in slo-mo.

As much as I dislike Tkachuk no way did he deserve a game there. Tuch stuck his leg out and he’s sticking up for himself for a cheap shot.

Foligno penalties were ridiculous

I'm a stars fan have been since they were the North Stars but that was despicable by our captain and worse than any "cheap shot" I've ever seen! Benn Needs to be stripped of the C and gotten rid of never really liked his play anyway he is Definitely OVER PAID

Half of these clips are basically why we have boarding penalties. If someone puts themself in a bad spot it is your job not to paralyze them. You could hit them any which way except a crosscheck to the spine headfirst into the boards. That definitely should be a penalty or misconduct.

How!! Alex Tuch get away with kneeing penalty and getting away with it, no wonder Brady Tkachuk got angry, I am so with him, Tuch should've been suspended for that, but noooo, that is plain controversial right there

Durzi knew exactly what he was doing when he looked back and then cut in a few feet short of the boards and jammed in hard against Vatrano. It was a calculated move and it payed off.

That one on Filino was pretty tame.

That last one was how it used to be taken of, you get up and send a clear message. No waiting for the enforcer to come in and go at it after he gets out of the box. As a 50 year hockey fan, that was how it's done.

Watching both their knees hyper extend on the foligno play is especially brutal to me

11:48 As much as I don't like fights in sports (keep in mind I'm not a big hockey guy) I find this scene a lot more palatable than most brawls in sports. The 2 guys with beef settle their own score, and the rest don't run out there to push and shove aimlessly and otherwise look like morons (baseball bench clearing brawls look rather silly to me). This is better, IMHO.

That penalty on Foligno is wrong. That was accidental. He could have been just as injured.

Played hockey for 10 years, I did not in fact know you could give a team a 7 min long power play

My brother got called for boarding in a tourney for squirt c’s so you can’t board someone but all he did was trip a kid and he got a 10 minute minor Penalty

The girl in the stands at 0:40 right above the hit got me cracking up.

If you get a 5 minute major at the end of a game in a 7 game series, you sbould start the next game with whatever remaining time of the 5 minute major.

Benn’s is just baffling, so many dirty dangerous hits that were in some part unintentional and then Jamie benn, during active play, no puck, guy already down for a full second, decides to do a calculated thought-out cross check to a guy’s face, that’s the one that had me thinking what goes through some people’s heads

That last one was brutal. Refs don't call the clear boarding penalty, and then hand out a game misconduct to the guy who got boarded because his jersey committed a major infraction? Who was the ref, Angel Hernandez?

And I was my team was versing Minnetonka in a different tournament and they had a big kid so I got the puck and went behind the net and he was chasing after me I knew he was gonna bodycheck me so I sped up the his stick hit the side of the net and hit his stomach then he got hurt and at the end he got a penalty for hitting our goalie with his skates he got the penalty and he clapped his hands as he went to the box our whole team clapped for him and one of our coaches almost when out on the bench and fought the other coaches

That first hit was crazy. If it was a split second later he would touch the puck and it wouldn't be interference. But, he never touched it and the hit was malicious and trying to hurt his opponent. "Legal" or not that hit was nasty. I can't endorse hits like that. A young player gets caught in a bad spot and you try to hospitalize them? Clean hits are part of the game but that was not one.

I'm as big of a Stars fan as there ever will be, and Benn's penalty in that game was one of the stupidest things I've seen. Very good chance it cost us whatever comeback we might have had in that series as well.

The MN-Dallas one at around 2:30 was a BS call. No way that was intentional.

There is no room for these dangerous hits in hockey. These guys have been team mates and even during fights there is a level of respect. Some of these hits could easily have ended careers.

There has to be a line between he got caught in a bad spot and you knew you were going to injure the guy you are hitting.

I just learned what a misconduct penalty was. That first one was legit in my opinion. Isn't hockey a contact sport? I'd want the enforcer on my team lol.

I bet the players get upset about when the player or team gets a game Misconduct but what ever more worse is the team makes the Stanley Cup Playoffs a player gets a game Misconduct and the player gets suspended and they can’t play the playoffs

it was funny when benn the stars captine hit stone in the playoffs because the stars were losing 2-0 in the series when benn got the suspension (2 games) those to games the stars won

@2:37 I'm still having a hard time believing this was anything but unintentional. Marcus Foligno isn't a player with a history, like Cooke or Pronger, that would lead you to believe he was trying to throw a knee. Just my opinion.

I watch a lot of these hits nowadays and my first thought is that these players need to learn how to take a hit. You don’t put your back to a player that close to the boards and think it’s going to end well. Common sense boys, keep your head up and don’t turn your back to players. Easy enough.

That wasn't as bad as it looked. 43 turned his numbers after the momentum was initiated.
