@@usherglow3269 Metal Bat's fighting style is literally based on him getting destroyed, until he overpowers you during battle. Your comment makes no sense. Metal Bat would have taken the kill and walked away the winner had his sister not intervened. The creators of the show even said this. So yes, Metal Bat got destroyed, but Garou was about to die, thus making the Metal Bat the ultimate winner of the 1v1 until 3rd party intervention.
I mean the guy fails more than he succeeds. Got his ass rammed by watchdog man and would’ve lost to metal bat, got knocked out by Saitama twice and was gonna lose to Genos (who literally always loses) and would’ve lost to Bang too. He’s S-class for sure but really not that strong compared to the others
@@peacefuldestroyer2135 true he was super hurt before a lot of his fights but that’s why he kept losing he just never took the time to heal before fights cause he’s hella stupid
2:37 some of my favorite exchanges in anime. The way Metal Bat recovers each time is incredible. First hit he lands on his feet, second time he catches himself with his bat and turns it into a BIG wind-up. I've always enjoyed the character trope of having more endurance and guts than skill, and Metal Bat is a shining example.
The fact that Garou stopped fighting after Metal Bat's sister told him to stop, shows that Garou is still human at heart, despite claiming to be a monster.
not gonna lie, of everyone in the series, metal bat is probably my favourite - and i dunno what the writer says or nothing, but i legit think he's probably the second strongest hero after saitama. Purely because he's powered by rage and pain and the will to protect the people he loves. Every other hero treats the "job" like it's a regular 9-5 occupation, or something to help sharpen their instincts, training/test their equipment, etc. But Saitama and Metal Bat are doing it because it's the right thing to do and they *want* to do it. and check-out the shit they've done! lol Metal Bat may not have Saitama's level of physical strength/defense, but he''s probably the closest - he fought all 3 centipedes and lived and came within a hair's breadth of killing garaou, if Metal Bat's little sister hadnt gotten involved, garou would have been a red smear on the pavement..... that's massive levels of power - seriously, it took Bang and Bomb and Genos just to bring him to his knees.... Metal Bat nearly killed him one on one... so yeah, applaud the prince. *EDIT* - - Also, metal bat totallly treated Garou like he wasnt even worth worrying about at the time - just like Saitama, weirdly enough - Garou was just an inconvenience in his way to fighting a bigger threat and yeah.... like hell on earth what an awesome fight!
Just like Saitama, Metal Bat's power has no limits, and he's still just 17 too, he has so much unfulfilled potential, hopefully we get to see more of him.
bang, bomb, and genos all could've killed garou individually if they wanted to, genos was about to but then bang decided that he wanted to beat his ass instead. He was being more aggressive then usual, but using less force to teach him a lesson.
Something poetic about metal bat. He is any man that's been woken up in the middle of the night ready to fight to the death to defend his family. He's all of us.
Metal Bat is a savage. Takes beatings like a champ. Enjoys a challenge. Stopped Garou’s kick with his forehead. Then made Garou shit himself seeing how close to death he was from him if his sister didn’t intervene.
The part where he's shown to almost kill Garou reminds me of the exact scene Saitama almost kills Genos. But it's crazy how I feel like MB is a little underrated.
@@luisfercamacho3466 he's not normal at all he's super strong and durable and he has a skill called fighting spirit it's his ability everytime he takes damage he gets stronger and stronger
@@soulless3062 yes I know but his espírit fight is something awesome but don’t change the fact that he don’t have any ability like super strength or intelligence he is normal and still defeats creatures with a lot of power
Little do we know Metal Bats sister is actually an S-class level individual who posseses the ability to stop anyone from wanting to fight just by telling them.
Fun fact: Garou has a weak spot for kids and he hates bullies that's why he stopped attacking darkshine when he thought he was bully him with the ear attacks. Garou is besides Genos my favourite character
Metal bat is the closes hero to saitama tbh. Just a man with the power to defeat practically anything he faces. He just has hair still so he’s not fully maxed out 😂
@@johnphillips5310 He does have an upper limit though, so may not be as strong as Tats or AG or Boros, but I believe ONE said that his upper limit is crazy high.
@@johnphillips5310 I doubt it. Sure he gets stronger with every bit of damage he takes but he still sustains the damage. The dude had multiple broken bones after this fight and no matter how strong he gets he is still human I mean he literally collapsed after taking a hit from his sister due to how much damage he already sustained. Sorry but theres no way he'd be able to match Boros in terms of strength. Boros was one of the few enemies that actually withstood a punch from Saitama and if Saitama wasn't there then everyone would have most likely died.
Metal bat is surely stronger than amai mask, zombie man , puri puri, pig god and tank top master the only people in s class I think is stronger than him is bang, tatsuki, darkshine, metal knight, samurai and maybe genos
I always used to think that metal bat is just a weak guy who acts tough but after watching this it made me realize that metal bat is the most dedicated guy and such a strong class S his sister literally saved garou
Metal Bat is a great character with massive potential for great character development. I really like his attitude and way of handling situations as well as how he gets when he is pumped up. He clearly is a force to be reckoned with when he gets extremely serious in a fight
s3 wil focus more on S class heroes rescuing the VIP in z city... more likely child emperor, tatsumaki, genos, King would get more screentime that other s class heroes
The fact Garou knew what will happen if the bat hit him and he came close to seeing his life flash before his eyes just says how undermined metal bat is
Garou's like, "You get stronger the more you get beat...that makes no sense." But dude, you're the same lmao. Such a dope fight. I also simply loved that Saitama knocked out Garou twice and still kept saying I need to find the Hero Hunter lmao
Metal Bat lowkey surprised all of us with his persistent fighting spirit. I really thought he had some light saber bat or something, but its just his fighting spirit that makes him special and thats sorta why I like him.
@@someundertalefanlol6999 it’s not just a plain old metal bat, it’s a bat made of metal sure, but it’s a specially made bat made of really solid metal. In the webcomic he uses a regular metal bat and it crumpled like a tin can.
Honestly metal bat is such a cool hero and I ridiculously love his powers and style. The dude uses nothing but a bat and is an s-class hero, which on paper just sounds funny and makes no sense but then you realize his power is something that's potentially broken. The only description we're given of his power is that he has an immense fighting spirit that causes him to get stronger the longer he fights. Which they never say has a limit meaning metal bat if given the time could probably one shot god with a bat. That's complete speculation, even if he can get stronger they make it clear that it takes time so if someone's just way stronger they could easily defeat him before he could ever power up to their level
His power plays on OPMs own powe system, a person has an X limit of power but that limit can be broken as seen with Garou. But unlike with Saitama or Gaoru Metal Bat seems to be able to get stronger with sheer willpower alone.
Imagine having godlike powers and you could still have died to a regular Japanese baseball player with anger issues. OPM is quirky as and I love it. Also, Metal Bat's fit goes well hard 👌
@SEN-NoVa Could does not in any way mean 50%. "Could" is a verb past tense of can. Metal Bat can kill Garou. You're speculating and interpreting on behalf of the creator. So whatever you have to say can be dismissed as such.
Love how Metal Bat is one of the few people who can win against Garou, his Ideology with not killing humans means that Metal Bats scaling power will eventually overwhelm unless outright knocked out or sent far away enough he can't return to the fight. Mind you Metal Bat is still human and thus has that limit, but if he didnt his power is potentially infinite.
Deeeefinitely consider @ 5:00 the same kind of "sense of instant death" scene, like when Genos asked Saitama to take their sparring seriously, and that "DEATH" punch destroyed the mountain side. Garou reacted fast enough and went into his high alert evasion mode, so that he could have very likely evaded. But had it hit, like people have said, the author themselves said that would have killed him. If the fight continued after that swing, it's likely they would have continued until one or the other was dead. And it's super interesting character wise for them both to end the fight there.
He definitely wasn't going to be able to evade that swing, the only reason he turned around was because Metal Bats sister yelled, and by that time, Metal bat had already intentionally stopped his swing.
ONE stated that the only reason Garou didn't get his head absolutely smashed to bits by Metal Bat is because MBs sister stopped him. Had she not, Garou would've been dead, regardless of his reaction time.
metal bat gets so much credit for almost killing garou but not enough for having no martial art, powers, upgrades or anything. just a bat and crazy strength
I like how the S class heroes didn't automatically just become an absolute pushover to Garo, like they still held their own and the higher ones straight up had him running with his tail behind his legs. Heck even Genos who is usually the punching bag was able to beat him up.
True about that, but when Genos fought Garou, Garou was already fucked up. Took a beating from Saitama and the other heroes before Genos arrived, not to mention he was poisoned and was getting dizzy, if he wasn't all that fucked up he woulda put up a better fight, even against Silverfang.
In the first version of this fight in the manga, the manhole cover that metal bat hit actually ricocheted and he set up garou to get hit by it. I honestly preferred that version, shows that metal bat wasn’t just the straight up brawler type.
@MrNoseBleed I'm guessing the story behind your username is that, you talk a lot of shit and don't know when to stop, so your nose is always bleeding due to people knocking your ass out.
It's such a shame we never saw both of them duke it out while at full strength. Garou had just had his ass handed to him by Watchdog Man, and Metal Bat had just fought off a whole group of monsters by himself.
Let me tell you all who are wondering how Metal bat could've defeated him. Writers have confirmed Metal Bat to have scaliblity, means his strength and speed goes on increasing as he becomes angrier or as he takes more damage. It's said that if he gets ultimately furious, his strength would reach near infinity. (a worthy opponent for saitama XD) WELCOME!
@@egodfather8153 I'm pretty sure I saw metal bat's bat got bend by hitting "(not gonna tell the name)" in webcomics. it's not that much big spoiler you know😶
I love Metal Bat for having nothing but a strong will and his metal bat. Like most of all the S class has super powers like lifting things whenever they want, slashing in two everything they want, having special fight style etc. Metal bat is just a punk in this group, and this is his key.
Metal Bat' power is probably like on Saitama's level mid-training arc where he's close on unlocking his limiter. Metal Bat's "Death Swing" if connected on garou could probably unlock his limiter too.
Garou respect the bravery and innocence of children standing up for what they believe in, just like what he experienced when he was a child and being picked on for being odd and liking monster in the tv shows. As well you can tell he had some level of respect for Metal Bat for not displaying violence in front of a child.
Metal Bat should have won that fight, and would have if not for his sister's interference, but in a rematch, Garou would probably have the advantage since he's aware of Metal Bat's delayed tenacity. Either way, Metal Bat and Garou are two of my favorite characters. If Garou wins, I'd be sad that Metal Bat lost. If Metal Bat wins, I'd be sad that Garou lost.
I'm convinced that Metal Bat actually also getting closer to break his limiter, just not as much as Saitama did. Probably as close as how Garou was breaking his limiter at the end of the season. Closer he is to death, he became more powerful and dangerous. Just like how Saitama said he feels like almost dying before he got his unlimited strength.
@@usherglow3269 Lol bullshit comment. It's damn street fight. No one is giving Garou shit for wanting to fight Metal Bat while he already was in the middle of fighting a Dragon Level monster and after he had defeated 4 other monsters right before. Like I said, it's a street fight. Who's fault is it that Garou dropped his guard mid-fight? His own. No sympathy for cocky characters who think the fight's over before confirming. So glad that the creators said that if that attack hit Garou would have died. Meaning that even if he tried to deflect it, he could have still died. At this point in the show, metal bat could have beaten Garou if they kept fighting and no one intervened. Even Garou was starting to feel the impact of metal bats attacks EVEN though he was deflecting all of them.
@@zangetsu1597 Do you even know that garou doesn't kill?? Cuz if he does, at that moment of mb when he was knock out. Garou could've killed him but he chose not to. So more like metal bat is the LUCKY ONE. Lol watch the fighting without taking bias idiot. You can clearly see metal bat cannot land a hit to on guard garou
I've always said that garou is a protagonist, almost in the way genos is, he's kind of the underdog coming into many battles, and he loses sooo many of them. Him being saved by a little girl kinda just proves my point...
Garou is being puffed up to be the opponent that finally gives Saitama an excuse to finally go all out in a fight. Garou is the endgame of OPM. He will become so monsterously powerful that only Saitama can defeat him, but it will take all of Saitama's strength. And if the S1 OP does not playing during it would have been for nothing. Calling it now. The fight with Garou will be so legendary that not only will the world acknowledge his status as the strongest hero, he will be acknowledged for the first time by his proper hero name; One Punch Man.
@@Gunplabro must not read the manga No way especially since blast is in the picture now, I doubt Garou would get that strong This is the Old man stories and his student so I’m pretty sure it’ll end with him or his student finishing the job

Considering he later tag teamed with metal bat against the centipede monster i think Garou likes Metal Bat most from the S classes duo to Metal Bat being a hot head like him.
