I love that this replaced Orgrimmars usual music during patch 5.4. The reinforced docks outside, Kor'Kron rounding up shopkeeps and citizens, really helped create a palpable atmosphere of a city under occupation. #GarroshDidNothingWrong tho, best Warchief
This theme encapsulates the reason I played Orc Horde. When WoW launched I picked Orc Warrior and made him into a beastly ARMS spec PVP centered character and was wiping the field with him at Tarren Mill and the Barrens, then battlegrounds came out I was always MVP. Guild did PVE and I didn't give a shit about threat I held my own anyways as second tank while also out DPSing the rogues. All I wanted was to be Grom Hellscream reincarnated and by god I can say during vanilla on the shadowmoon server my Orc Warrior was the closest representation of Hellscreams spirit. Nostalgic rant over.
My answer was strength/agility build as all the other warriors went strength/stamina. I would always get freakish crit strikes, and the only class that could take me down regularly were paladins as their bubble saved them when their health got eviscerated in a few hits.
+Ziru322 I hear you perfectly. All I've ever been in WoW is a fucking ripped Orc Warrior. For fun i would go into Ashran and literally two shot other players. Sometimes i would go into a random BG just to see how long i could hold off by myself 5 shit geared (insert class everyone hates) taking a few with me to the grave. Though the Hellscream's bloodline has ended, their spirit lives on through our blades.
Garrosh is actually one of my new favorite characters. His story was meh in Cataclysm, but having it culminate in the events of MoP really made him the Arthas 2.0, if you will. Arthas, being my favorite villain in the WoW timeline, was great because he was one of the greatest manifestations of evil in Azeroth, and yet to an extent, he was innocent of all crimes because his will was not entirely his own. Garrosh is driven by similar motivators, yet down a different path. Both original heroes are motivated by their love for their kingdom and their people/heritage, but are corrupted by that very love. Garrosh gave into his pride when Cairne challenged him originally, giving Magatha Grimtotem the opportunity to use Garrosh to her own devious ends, just like Ner'zhul and Kel'Thuzad did with Arthas. What I believe makes Garrosh a fiercer opponent than the Lich King (despite Arthas being far more epic and greater a threat) is that now he is backed by Pride itself, and Y'shaarj, an old god all its own. I just think it's an amazing story, how Garrosh is ruled by emotion his whole life and ends up falling prey to the machinations of others, also to an extent innocent of his original evils.
Well, I understood Arthas wrong at first place. As his will was his own, but it's just the dark part of it. He pretty much dominated other parts of Lich King mind. But that's for these old years... Today you are right LOL. Cause it was "Jailer" will all along.
I didn't play WoW for very long, but I do remember the Alliance being just a *weeee* bit snooty.. The Horde seemed (to me) far more interesting; especially the Orcs.
most humans were really racistic especially againts the orcs/sindorei. The only truth in wow is that there are no good guys, only the greater and lesser evils.
I'm glad Garrosh isn't killable in SoO and that he will facilitate WoD. Think about the times you've personally felt ashamed, weak, pathetic, and without hope. Maybe you've lacked proper guidance and ended up lost because of it. It's sad right? This is how we meet Garrosh. Understand that he is a scared and immature juvenile that is unprepared for the burdens of leading a dying tribe. This is his reality and it is what ultimately shapes his win or die outlook as a warchief. He has no strong support structure or guidance and so he is apathetic. And then Garrosh meets Thrall. Really consider this from Garrosh's perspective. He is not only meeting someone who knew Grom, he is meeting a strong paternal figure, a leader that created a nation by uniting a broken people and different factions. Thrall is the physical embodiment of hope at this point. With Thrall to guide him, Garrosh begins to exhibit confidence. Fast forward, Garrosh has been defeated and is facing a possible execution. He is seemingly and utterly alone. This is critical to his character and here's why. What does Garrosh do now that he faces the worst trial of his life and is no longer riding on the momentum of having met Thrall? Does he revert back to the scared apathetic child we met? No, he resolves to create a 2nd Horde through the means given to him. Garrosh's character has matured, he has gained true self confidence. If present day Garrosh was swapped with the initial Garrosh we met in the latter's situation, present day Garrosh would be able to lead his people. His ideology maybe flawed, but he has become capable. I can't hate a character that goes through that type of development.
@@slappinass862 Yes but you only get to use one weapon and as he was fighting with his hammer he violated the rules which is why the elements abandoned him shortly after
the socalled "true horde" was nothing more than a betrayal of thrall´s vision of a horde. in thralls horde, all races where respected and had their voices. in garrosh "true horde" only such imbecile orc-brats like malkorok could gain influence =)
Vicente P Pity he was killed too soon, while blizz puts some bad guys in 2 or more dungeons. Even after their "final" death they manage to return only because they don't have new idea's for filling contents. Poor Garrosh once was an end boss and than only a measy scenario boss. :/
SokkingBTtulaj I didnt really imagine him making it that far tbh, I thought he'd be the end boss of MoP where we KILLED him. Instead he flees and opens the new xpac, so instead of killing him at the end of MoP we kill him at the start of WoD. I never really felt that they couldve done it another way. NOW here's the thing: what if Guldan made him a DK >:)
When garrosh first assumed his title and position as war chief all he wanted was to free the lands of his people from the alliance. But when the alliance went to far he was no longer content with that. He wanted to eliminate the threat as a whole. Later the heart of yshaarj twisted that ambition and turned it into something much darker.
Everyone likes to cite Wrath as the peak of WoW, but I must say playing horde during Cata and Mists on RP-PvP was peak horde. Hellscream will always be the best warchief. Theramore deserved it.
***** Deathwing is crap, just gary stu on a dragon, just "destruction" and far from being the best embodiment of destruction or hatred, Sauron (for exemple) are better.
"This is the difference between me and you, Vol'jin. I won't let MY people starve to death in the desert. I will stop at nothing - NOTHING - to ensure a proud and glorious future for the orcs and anyone with the courage to stand with us."
***** Yea, operation shieldwall questline in mop (alliance) was awesome, the horde one was pretty bad and sad, i mean a orc rogue dude backstabbing vol'jin ain't cool
Garrosh was corrupted by not just one, but two Old Gods (Yogg-Saron on Northrend, Y'Shaarj on Pandaria), it's not surprising that he went completely mad.
For me, Garrosh is the perfect last boss. He is not a corrupted defender, not a fallen hero, and not an ex-good boy. He doesn't have forced, supernatural, crap reasons to be evil. HE IS JUST A DICK. This is his true personality and for this you don't feel sorry for him , neither get tired of "Corrupted superfuck" stories. You just simply can't wait to slit his troat, stab him in the back, burn him into a pile of coal on your mage, take his loot and leave his naked body behind to ashame him even in death. He is the first end game boss who made me truely hate him. ( I can't hate a bounch of tenacles with eyes or fallen heroes.) The turth he didn't died, still works on his plans and all your hard efforts to get rid of him are in vain, makes you hate him even more. XD End bosses should be hated! YAAAYYY
tbh, Garrosh is the best villian in the warcraft series next to Arthas. Not only is he the best warrior (fuck you varian you have to rely on some old ass wolf) but he made the horde great again. Sad to see him die a stupid ass diead cause of Lazy writing. I wish blizz did a better job.
I would love to see the orcs redeemed to their original form as people full of joy and with a big heart. They were actually something between dwarfs and pandaren once from a character perspective, until they first became corrupted by sargeras blood, and then some even more with Mannoroth...
umm... no they never were :D only the frostwolf clan was peaceful and they only were if they weren't attacked. i mean just look at warlords of draenor, these are original orcs, do they seem peaceful? not at all
Orc are a warrior race, not always at war "litterally". They are made to fight, either an enemy or an harsh environment. Strong and proud, they represent the more fierce aspect of the living. Sadly, they are easily tricked and provocked, and once the blood haze of rage has fallen on their minds, it's nearly impossible to calm them down. One can only hope for wise shamans and chiefs, as the frostwolfs father and son, Durotar and Thrall, to rule them and lead them to safety
Utanman90 Ahh no, I was talking about them being freed from all the corruption before they were first (in this case mind corrupted) by sargeras, they were not always brutal race. I meant before all this went down in them as a race, that was quite a long time ago. I am not talking about any events that were present on azeroth or distant past of draenor, that is quite a while they ve stopped being mind clear. And of course the orcs in Warlords of Draenor doesn't seem peaceful, it all already went down in a negative way long time ago.
But look what happened to them... Ner'zhul eventually gave up caring about his own race if they didn't share his ideals; got ripped apart slowly and painfully by Kil'Jaeden. Gul'dan betrayed his own kind by chasing relics instead of helping Orgrim Doomhammer, causing the eventual retreat of the Horde back to Draenor. Gul'dan was eventually ripped to pieces and skinned by demons. (sensing a trend with demons : /) Blackhand was more of a figurehead than a warchief, Ner'zhul ran that Horde.
Just when people started warming up to you, Blizzard not only derails your character, but also assassinates it and then throws it under the proverbial characterization train.
Personally, I think Garrosh is being kept alive too long. He started doing some really stupid ars things, and now even after a raid, he's gonna escape prison in WoD... Brilliant.
Nah, we've already seen triumphant heroes rise from the ashes of war. Garrosh is the other side of the coin, so to speak. Garrosh was plucked from a simple, peaceful life on Draenor and thrust into the heart of the Northrend campaign. Only freshly blooded, Garrosh then finds himself as a Warchief after a lifetime of living in his father's shadow. Traumatic war. Years of depression. It all took its toll, and so he failed to execute his great responsibility with his great power. I love Garrosh.
Garrosh. The honorable warrior-turned SOB. As a old Horde player I hated him so much for spitting on Vol'jin, calling Sylavanas a bitch, treating Lor'themar and the Blood Elves like some pawn. His racism in general was quite irritating too. Still, how he is depicted in Stonetalon with the Krom'gar quest chain was pretty awesome. He damn right was a true warrior. Just not fit to be the leader.
KJH That doesn't make her honorable lol, she frequently resorts to using poisons and fighting from the shadows. This is synonymous with cowardice in the eyes of a proud warrior like Garrosh. Sylvanas cares not for honor, only for achieving some goal or gaining something, very conniving.
Donald Lisberg Thrall and a high numbers of importants heads of the Horde understand the true motivations of Sylvanas, and they know after the humans, she probably try to get rid of all livings if she can. Garrosh just say what he think, without diplomacy. But Thrall totally know about the danger about recruiting some former member of the Scourge before he did it.
Best quote ever: HELLSCREAMS EYES ARE UPON YOU! OR SERVE The HORDE OR BE CRUSHED BENEATH IT! I like all warchiefs but still garrosh had an gladiator heard was furious and just : epic :)
Perrish in Pain Maggot! :) (Tinheart i also played Alliance so i also now to respect the glory of the Lion of Stormwin( in my eyes Varian)) but still Horde is and will stay Nr.1
Personally, though not a supporter of Garrosh myself (Frostwolves ftw, biatch!), he was an epic character and I feel he deserved something a bit more... Drums and roars, and less trumpets and trombones. Just my opinion...
True, however if the Alliance and Horde are to be at peace then the leader needs to be a Troll, Orc or Tauren who is capable of understanding that the past is the past. Blood Elves I suppose might be able to lead them in that path, though the Draenei wouldn't like it. And the Forsaken aren't trusted as is, so they can't lead the Horde. If anyone is to get into power, I say it's most likely a nobody will lead the Orcs, and Vol'jin will become Warchief.
Except he is bigger than most other Orcs, he's also brown because that's the colour the Orcs originally were (you need to know a bit of the story) and he wears Manoroth's (the demon that caused Orcs to be green) tusks on his fucking shoulders AND weilds his father's old axe. Not sure how much more unique you can make the guy.
Gets the ashes and brings them to Silvermoon city after a death march leaving a giant back path from the plague lands strait to Silvermoon. He ruins the Sunwell to resurrect and the OP lich known as Kel'Thuzad. Then goes to Dalaran to ROFLstomp Antonidas. Aafter killing the Archmage he then tells his OP lich friend to summon Mother. Fucking. Archimonde. Then betrays the legion to get Illidan to kill Tichondrias. Then goes to back to Northrend.
What I don't get is how Arthas, the guy who purged the cith of Stratholme, then sailed to Northrend and nearly killed Muradin. Proceeds to killing his crew converting them to ghouls and death knights after getting his tunnel visioned vengeance on Mal'Ganis. Comes home to stab "his father the king" in which he slowly kills his own kingdom. He kills one of his best friends and mentor so he get his father's ashes.
The failure with Blizz at this moment is that they listen TOO much to the cries of it's community. Garrosh would have had a bright future, if the massive majority of the players wouldn't have cried about Thrall leaving. I expect that blizz makes more mistakes and acctually will make Zul'jin warchief just because alot of poeple who play WoW find him (for what ever reason) awsome. This is just my expectation and opinion, I will look from the back of the stage how blizz progresses in silence.
You are probably right. Garrosh holds nearly all (He probably doesn't have doubt, he makes up for it with pride) of the negative emotions that the Sha represent, so he probably saw it as something he can conquer. If Y'Shaarj were to manifest enough power to reenter Azeroth, he would either manipulate Garrosh to be his slave, or just toss him aside and kill him. I do thank you for keeping this conversation civil though. :)
You're right, but in the wrong way. His character is that he was a learning warrior that almost learned control and honor, but ultimately succumbed to bloodlust, following in his fathers footsteps. In the Stonetalon chain and all the rest, they were developing Garrosh as a person who did have good and bad sides, and in MoP he sorta just went down the wrong path. It's tragic, actually, so I think Blizz did good personally.
I personally see Garrosh as a bit of a sad failure in terms of the writing, With the stuff in cata, Garrosh was getting the potential to be something special, like with the Stonetalon Mountains quest chain. Or even back in Wrath when he was speaking/learning with Saurfang, he was coming out to be a hot blooded badass, but also a honorable warrior. Then Pandaria came out and blizz decided it would be a great idea to disregard that development and make him just another villain.
garrosh's horde falls apart because of his ruthlesness, do you think that the trolls would keep on following him if he kills vol'jin? (well he did try but failed) do you think the tauren would keep supporting him if he goes into a bloody rampage and wipes out everything? the goblins are with him because of the moneys and the forsaken follow him because it suits their twisted goals, garrosh will end up alone with an entire world wanting his blood though i admit he's one epic bastard :)
Garrosh as gathered allies? where are they? he is only setting all of them aside! what is the horde for you? its the red vs blue, its good vs evil. yet this definition of the horde is long gone, now the horde is a pact of friendship of all of the hated races trying to survive in a world that considers them bad. have you not read anything about the horde at all? Dont play horde if you dont know what the horde is.
the horde isnt about blood and vangeance, the horde is about honor and glory, its about the outcast races of azeroth forging their own desitiny. Thrall led the horde to be the mightiest force on kalimdor, despite the fact that he went for the "peaceful" aproach. Garrosh's new horde is more like the old horde, ravaging, pilaging, destroying everything and seeking only war. this will lead only to its destruction. Garrosh WILL die so Thrall may return. Lok'tar ogar! for the true horde!
i loved thrall in warcraft 3, epic orc campaign, refreshing protagonists (an orc!!!) but honestly? i don´t like him doing so much in wow. basically thralls horde was an human alliance with an horde logo slapped onto it. of course its thralls way to go in real life, war is a bad thing. but in a fantasy story thrall is doing more damage than good (from an entertainment point of view). also i find garroshs character in the books and the short story "Heart of war" better written than thrall
ye that is what I whas thinking also on the end of patch 5.1 he got sha tucht so he he became totally evil in patch 5.4 you can even see the sha really clearly black skin spikes out of his body
The Warchief's eyes are upon you. We the Horde have conquered hundreds of Domains. Yours shall become a footprint in the history of our march across this land. The Horde takes what is rightfully ours, we will stop at nothing till all enemies lay before us in defeat. For the Horde strives for nothing but, VICTORY!!! LOK'TAR OGAR!!!!
