Fischer had never said one good thing about Kasparov, and yet, here is Kasparov visiting Fischer's grave, paying his respects. What an absolute class act!

If Fischer hadn't retired from competitive chess after winning the World Championship, sooner or later he would have played against a younger Gary Kasparov. And then sparks would have flew...

No one notices Spassky . If he could reject Fischer's offer he would have won because of the rules . He's such a gentleman in my perspective

Not only is Kasparov brilliant chess player that I look up to, turns out he's a gentleman as well.

I went to his grave 2 years ago. Everything I could of thought, Kasparov said it.

Kasparov is very well spoken, and of course English is a second or third language for him. A few years ago he was on "Real Time" and just blew everyone away. So intelligent.

Kasparov reveres the history of the game. Respect.

Kasparov is not only perhaps the greatest chess player in recorded history, but is also a great historian. He has a major passion for history, and a phenomenal grasps of the significance of the events, in the possible outcomes that may have followed if fate had gone the other way. But my deepest respect for him comes from the fact that he is a decent human being, and a person who has managed to overcome even that of his own great success in life, even despite his driving ego. Many others in chess and otherwise, are not able to do that.

No matter how many bad and wrong things Fischer said about Kasparov, Kasparov put those things aside and praised Fischer for his chess. To me, if someone said so many nasty things about me, it would be difficult to show such respect to him, even if I know that he suffered from paranoid personality disorder.

Bobby was also one of the most glib, honest, funny, and charming persons ever to speak on the world stage. His story is epic with amazing highs and lows and filled with controversy and challenge and wonder. At least there are a lot of examples of his interviews on the Internet to enjoy so we can see how truly honest he was whether he was right or wrong he had the honesty to turn off his filter so we could hear a little bit of the inner workings of a great mind. Really, there are few in recorded history who have enabled us to see who they really are. RIP Bobby Fischer.

You dont see any of that frightening persona Kaspy had at the chessboard. He seems a genuinely nice guy.

As an avid Patzer, I have to give credit to Gary, for taking the time out of his busy schedule to pay his respects to Bobby. My connection to Bobby was that we were both born in the same year, a month apart. we both learned chess at the same age. But I stayed a patzer, and he became world champion!. I have utmost respect for both men. and what they did and do for chess. is commendable. God speed. Gary.

Fischer was the greatest chess player who has ever lived IMHO. The mixture of having access to advanced development in chess theory and his tremendous talent isn't surpassed by anyone today. Players who formed the top 10 after he left the chess world had been weaker than him for more than 20 years although they had access to all this even bigger knowledge by then. What this means in terms of talent and dedication is obvious. In the late 60ies/early 70ies a 2700 ELO-rating was as high as probably a 2820 ELO-rating in classical chess is today. Spasski as the no. 2 in the world was not far off 2700 then while Fischer scratched the 2800 rating - simply outstanding. Even today he would be among the top 10 chess players in the world if his peak-rating in 1971 is considered.

I would like to say Garry Kasparov is not only perhaps the greatest chess player who ever lived at chess but also one of the most courageous humanitarian and defender of freedom as well as promoter of education that chess has ever seen; I have seen some of the horrible comments Bobbie stated about Kasparov. Yet as u can clearly see a very competitive man (Kasparov) shows mercy and compassion never said unkind personal attacks toward Fischer. In fact he goes to his grave in Iceland to pay tribute and honor Mr. Fischer . What class and what a man (Kasparov) . God bless u Garry and may God bless Bobbie Fischer may he rest in peace. Amen

Thankyou Garry Kasparov For Motivating Me In My Chess Career. I learned to play chess at the age of 14. I'm 41 now, Garry Kasparov is a true world champion even though he lost his title a few years back. Bobby Fischer will always go down as the best of his time as well.
