Carlsen started laughing when angry Nakamura could not win against Carlsen with two passed pawns Join this channel to get access to perks: / @gmchesslessons
Carlsen is the only man who makes hikaru a little nervous. Hikaru is so casual against almost all other super GMs. Carlsen's endgame usually makes hikaru seem uneasy.
@@anirudh276 Is he? He seemed to be playing so well recently. Seemed to be the only one that could threaten Magnus in bullet and rapid, at least on some level. I haven't been following his very very recent stuff though.
@@billj4525 Yes offlate he is not in his usual element. The very recent losses to aronian, wesley so and sam shankland in the champ showdown are a testament to that. He drew against sevian and won against caruana. But you never know its hikaru, he might bounce back instantaneously like the champ he is.
@@lashaunbeazer9264 You can see the smirk begin at move 110, and by move 112 we have a full chuckle...Hikaru responds with a scowl and a frown, but by move 113, there is nothing Hikaru can do at this point to halt the laughing.
Jump to the end of the video, 8:44. Unless the commentators are wrong about the time they identify as move 116 (7:32), @snickle1980 is smoking something to say that's when it happens.
Only ONE man is known to make wilder facial expressions than Hikaru. 🙄🤔🤨🙄😒😑 ...And once Gary is no longer with us, Hikaru will proudly carry on his legacy of 🙄🤔😞😦🙄😖😳😑 It's only fitting that Kasparov and Hikaru share this quirk.
a bit over dramatic if you ask me ... Hikaru was disappointed but let's be honest, forcing the world champion to eek out a draw is a lot better than getting checkmated or losing on time
Magnus is the G.O.A.T of chess legends .....he can even play a losing position to draw result. That is such as powerful genius playing style .....just like Chess engine ...
No mate its a thing called F E A R ! Has nothing to do with chess its the perception what the media draws up on Carlsen , Carlsen stepped down he know he is done! Look at the game against Anand! Pathetic moves and people are yet praising him evem when he blunders that tells exactly my story here Wizard of OZ has fallen! And Thanks God , he isnt even on top 3 of strongest of all time i doubt he makes top 5 ! Fischer Kasparov Karpov Morphy and Judith are even stronger then him so says the chess games we have out there i mean just documented facts
failing to convert these close end games with Magnus is what damages opponents psyche and puts fear of Magnus in them, they are maybe better off resigning, rather than suffer an other Magnus opus escape.
God level trolling by magnus. He knew 30 moves ago it was a draw but hikachu is so head strong he can’t click the draw button, so magnus leaned into needling him, which was epic to see.
It is at the very end. Right before he walks off. That is probably why you didn't see it because you only watched 8 minutes of it. You missed the last 51 seconds which is where it happened.
Normally a rook endgame with two connected passed pawns and the king to defend the pawns should be a win. In rook endings the weaker side generally has some chances of a draw right up to the very end, but two connected passed pawns that are not on the a or h file should be defendable. A small advantage in a rook and pawn endgame is less likely to be converted into a win, but two connected passed pawns is a big advantage and should be a win. It was a win here at some point according to the computer, but it just isn’t obvious how to us mortals. Stockfish knows :) The trick is that the king has to be able to guard the passed pawns and be able to move around them. Hikaru got stuck because he couldn’t move around them anymore. When he had the king close he was basically winning.
@@SanderSmit77 Well, it is a joke. I can't remember which gm made that quote. In chess there are always exceptions. Take opposite color bishops for example. That's always drawn, right? Except when you can support your passer with your king. But usually it is drawn. It seems unfair when you have an extra pawn. I've made some people cry. And here Naka has 2 pawns extra! The most extreme example I have ever experienced is an exchange down but I had 2 connected passers. Connected. And it was drawn! When my opponent, who was always walking around with his phone in his hand informed me about this I told him to gtfo. It turns out he was right. I almost quit chess. Not a joke.
@@ItIsYouAreNotYour Yes, it is perfectly legal to play on in any endgame. And you're absolutely right. Some drawish endgames are very hard to defend. Let your opponent suffer in theoretical draws.
@@SanderSmit77 this wasn't a losing endgame, it was a known draw if you understand rook and pawn endgame concepts. Black was unable to establish a Lucena position which would win, nor was he able to get his king in front of his pawns. Because of those two things the game is a draw unless the defender blunders.
@@ItIsYouAreNotYour Bro, I literally watch Hikaru destroy Super GMs all the time on titled Tuesday’s, grant it, they beat each other. But this was just fear
@@rexoni2512 Has something changed in Syzygy endgame tablebases? I can see clearly the results Black is winning Kd1 Win with DTZ 22 Kd3 Win with DTZ 26 Ke1 Win with DTZ 26 Kc1 Draw Kc3 Draw And Hikaru played Kc3
@@h.h.h.9307 Not that good?, the same man that is rank #2 in the world rn?. The same man that won the BCC against Magnus. He's definitely good bro, he's god level. Magnus is his only problem
@@h.h.h.9307this is not the first time he is number 2. He is also one of a handful of people ever to be rated over 2800. Denying that this guy is one of the best is silly.
@@jrd33 its kinda different, in chess if youre winning by material, youre winning by strenght. In sports if youre winning by a point, the strenght is still same
They call these final positions endgames. Just so you know if you end a word in "est" than most is implied, so never say "most hardest" just hardest means the most hard. Most hard is also ok to say.
wasnt there king f4 for hikaru ? it protects e3 pawn and hes able to give a check with rook g2. After magnus move away pawn h2 and ur very close to promote
Better yet e4 instead of e5 at 6:15. If Magnus still moves his rock rook to h7 instead of check Hikaru, Hikaru can immediately move his rook to g2 and guarantee getting a queen
