Buster Keaton was awesome. Comedy genius way ahead of his time. "The blacksmith" was excellent film. It had an amazing Hollywood ending long before there was such a thing as a Hollywood ending.

GAWD I remember this song!!! Back in 1977-78 there was a local band that played this song at the high school dances and all over. We would beg them to play it again. They always did at the end the night!
This was on the juke box at the Bucksnort Saloon in Sphinx Park, Colorado. First place I ever heard it. I'm sitting here laughing and reminiscing about that place. (Met my husband there, decades ago). Love it!
My boyfriend and I were dancing at C.C.'s in Palm Springs when this came on from the DJ booth. At first, I wasn't really listening, but then I thought I heard a familiar phrase and decided, "Naw, nobody would write that in a song..." Then I heard it again! OMG! I've loved it ever since!
LOL - when I was married, my husband - a drummer - & his band used to do this song. Have no idea where they heard it first, but my eyes just about popped out of my head & I had to pick my jaw up off the floor - not because I'm a bible-thumping prude, but because I'd never a country song with cussing in it. My husband sang lead & played drums too, on this song - which always amazed me, because it's hard enough singing the lyrics, much less keep time. I hate country music in general, but this one is a gem.

I haven't heard this song since I was a teenager and just decided to look it up today. a friend of mine that I grew up with showed me this in high school sadly he's no longer with us. he accidentally shot himself in the head on July the fourth cuz he was spinning a revolver chamber with one bullet in it and pulled the trigger at the wrong time. This song sure does remind me of him. RIP
