GARUDA used to have a big network of destinations in Europe and Middle East..they all vanished in the Asian crises of 1998, Madrid,Paris,Frankfurt,Amsterdam,Rome, London,Munich,Cairo,Abu Dhabi....and now they start with flights to Amsterdam via Dubai that continues to London...quite a small step on what once existed no??
I was also on this flight on 8th Sept. I didnt realise it was the inaugral until we had the water ceremony. Was a nice touch too being greated as we got off the plane witht the attractive beefeaters and teddy's ;)
love this. we were on the same flight. i was in seat 6K. there were few business class passengers but that was more of a private cabin compared to the main one which i didnt see. it seems silly not to fly in business for 80 euro. had a good meal service for such a short flight.
Garuda had landing rights at Gatwick not Heathrow..good that intercontinental flights are spread out so that not all jumbos land at Heathrow which has to much traffic already??
yh i think that Garuda Indonesia should go to heathrow anyway soon heathrow will snatch it away from gatwick like they did with the other international airlines from gatwick like Vietnam airline... lol god
ramesh gosh Yes that is the desire of the intercontinental carrier..to land at Heathrow..Cathay Pacific,Air New Zeeland and Air Lanka all started at Gatwick and then moved..Heathrow is seriously crowded...there is not slots nor gates enough..an airport like LHR should operate 24hrs/daily in order to be less congested..unfortunately all the habitation around it makes it impossible...Heathrow is confines into the same space as in 1946.
Business class passengers may disembark first. I thought first class passengers shall disembark first then business class then economy. I guess she just read it from the texts normally used for other Garuda aircraft like its A330s or B737s.
