The concert brought Gary Burton back together with three quintet members - Pablo Ziegler on piano, Héctor Console on bass, and Fernando Suárez Paz on violín - along with Ricardo Lew on guitar and Marcelo Nisinman on bandoneón.

a pleasure I saw him and Chick Corea doing duets at a nearby concert hall about 6 years ago and it is one of the highlights of my musical experience

One of my first LPs was of Gary Burton when I was still in high school. I saved MT allowance just to buy his album. Some sixty years ago. Still fabulous!

In 1967 I was 17 years old in Guadalajara Jalisco Mexico I was in high school also working in a small jewelry shop learning the trade it took me long time to save some money to buy me three LP records Time out by Dave Brubeck . Stan Getz/Gilberto ( bossanova ) and Sinatra at the Sands Coming out of the record store felt 10 feet tall By the way I'm 73 years old and still kicking

THEY WERE PROBABLY CRAVING TO MAKE THIS INCREDIBLE MUSIC AGAIN TOGETHER - I HAVE THE CD - IT IS A TOTAL MASTERPIECE !!! THAT BANDONEON ACCORDIAN PLAYER IS REALLY AT THE CORE OF THIS MUSIC - SOME REAL SUBSTANCE TO HIS PLAYING THAT INCREDIBLE AND VERSATILE INSTRUMENT - SURPRISED YOU DON'T GET TO HEAR IT VERY OFTEN . AND OF COURSE GARY BURTON ON VIBES MIGHT JUST BE MY FAVORITE SOLOIST IN THE ENTIRE JAZZ GENRE - BRAVO TO WHOEVER SHARED THIS - MAKES ME WANT TO BUT THE CD ALL OVER AGAIN !!!

Amazing intro solo performed by Gary Burton. I love the rhythmic tapping on the upright bass that comes in at 0:24, there are many earthy tones in this performance. Interesting arrangement of instruments but still maintains authenticity of the accordion. Fantastic! -V.L

I don't know the theory, but when playing fast runs like he's doing, it might be easier to use the up/down wrist motion of the outside grip rather than the sideways pivoting wrist motion on the inside.
