Great video! I just wanted to add that the circlips are 34mm and can be found in stainless steel on amazon which I need since everything rusts in the PNW. Both my CR-7 and my Hoo Koo use a 6003 2RS for the bearings as well but I will likely grab that kit when I get around to finally doing this work.

So I have an oddity, a GF prototype from ‘91/‘92 that is closest in build to a Sphinx and uses this style of bb. Do you know if it’s possible to use a more modern pressfit, like an Ultrega SM-BB72-41B? Or are they strictly independent bearings and spindle? Also, great video and info!

I need to replace the bearings on my wifes RS-1. We have emailed about that frame you have. Ive not looked close enough but I did t see c-clips. Are they there and I just missed them?

Stopped at 4:20 so I don't know if you're reusing the spindle. If so, go to the hardware store and get some longer than stock crank arm bolts. Thread the bolts in and hit on the bolts instead of the spindle. To drive out the bearing that's still in, use a socket extension of your preference. The spindle is not a removal tool. Be sure also to spray both sides with something stronger than WD40 for a few days prior to starting this process. Please advise viewers to wear safety glasses when working with circlips, and lastly, but should be first, is measure the spindle length that's exposed prior to disassembly to help with setting the chain line on reassembly. Just recently got the bearings and spindle removed from an 1995 Klein Fervor that's seen decades of elements and neglect.
