Gary Morris belongs in the Hall of Fame!! Without question!! God given voice he has it ALL!! Beautiful voice!! Well done , amazing song!! ............🙏♾️♾️♾️🙏
The first time I heard this song by Gary I knew I was in love and after I seen him in concert he is no. 1 in my book. Nobody in all music can even come close to Gary.
I had heard this song when I was a young person, and listening to it again now for the first time since then, I never realized how truly good Gary Morris could sing. Wow...
At a stop sign in a woodsy area of Florida in the late 90's, Gary Morris was singing this song. My husband of 41 years said, "This is the way I've always felt about you, Baby." I started crying and said, "Dale, that is exactly the way I've always felt about you." It was 5 minutes before I could drive again; I had to wait out the emotions. This became "Our Song" that day. RIP, my dear husband, and know that you still are and always will be The Wind Beneath My Wings. Thank you, Gary Morris!
Gary Morris's version gets me to my core. This is my statement to my inner child, My child, within. Who ever sings it....the message is true to my inner child.
I first heard this on the Young and the Restless back in the Luke and Laura days .... in other words, I have loved this song for many years! So beautiful .....
Haha, you have your soaps mixed up. Luke and Laura were never on Y&R. Gary did the theme song for Another World, though, and I was there when he sang this for Dixie Carter on "Designing Women".
I knew Gary back during his Denver days. I traveled to see him sing in Forth Worth at Billy Bob's and to NYC to see him perform at the Lone Star Café. He is so amazing! And a really great guy. Glad to catch up with his career!
I met Gary in Los Angeles early 80's. Hi Gary. What a great voice. Trained in Opera no question. I first saw him opening up for a young upcoming George Strait at the Lakeside Rodeo Arena in Lakeside Ca (San Diego). Gary I believe is from San Antonio. George is from my home town, Pearsall Texas. Anyway, in Los Angeles, at that 3 day concert, it was, well. something to remember. Gary Morris, Exile, Forester Sister, Freddy Fender, Gaitan Brothers, Dwight Yokam, Randy Travis, many more. Alabama, who refused the invite, saw, the 100 thousand people, flew in and tried to purchase, well this is where leave. Anyway. Wherever you are, God bless you. I'll take you vocally you Gary. Your good. God Bless You.
Of all the many times on youtube where Gary Morris performs this, it is this performance which tops every performer and even himself. Mr. Morris, "You nailed it." LoL. Thank you. My heart is sitting on a shelf. :) ~ L
i received an email from RU-vid just now on my post I made 9 months ago with responses. Thank you, RU-vid for bringing this back to me. This song by Gary Morris is so special to me.
I was on an USA Trip from Switzerland when I heard that Gary is playing in New York in the Les Miserables. So we changed out plans and flew from LA to NYC to see him. Great. I have seen him perform in Nashville a few times before that - and I always liked him. Does anyone know what he is doing NOW?
When singers with great voices sing one of their most popular songs live too many sing in a style that only vaguely resembles the recorded version it makes me wonder what goes through their head. Dragging out some words and even speaking instead of singing in places.
Okay. So he has a lovely voice, there’s no denying that. But incredible vocal range? No. Average really, at best. Truthfully Bette Midler’s rendition of this song is effortlessly emotive. She keeps it simple and yet still kills it with emotional delivery, while not becoming overly vocally stylistic. This was over-sung and did nothing for me, unfortunately. Original or not. This is not the superior version.
