I recorded this during the second day of Cruel World 2023 (due to weather conditions) on May 21st 2023 in Pasadena, CA.Even though he played the day before he still wanted to come and play again. Gotta love Gary Numan!
This man was a MAJOR influence on NIN, his sound is like NIN back in the Vrenna era, (PHM, Broken and TDS...their best era), and there's NOTHING wrong with them sounding alike, it's absolute perfection. Chef's kiss!!!
Did he blow everyone off the stage or what? I wish he would have played another gig in SoCal besides this festival. But too pricey for my broke ass 😂. I saw him last year when played Santa Ana and Los Angeles... Right on, excellent video footage
As a fan of sorts since 1979, my feelings about Numan have not changed: he makes the most of a small amount of musical talent. That is not to denigrate him at all, and it is to his great credit that - like his greatest influence, David Bowie - Numan is always looking forward and refusing to become a nostalgia act. Is that amazing beard on the keyboard player real?
Kinda agree. He is more of an art project than a musician. And he's not Mercury or Hendrix. Still, I love him more than them both combined. Also, he was an incredible songwriter back in the day - the ideas he came up with both in music and lyrics were absolutely astonishing. Some new songs are great as well. Although I'm still waiting for some new non-industrial LP from him.

Damn that keyboard player should have spent a lil more money for a higher quality fake beard. Looks like homie straight up rockin a fake beard he bought from the Party City discount bin.
