I've upscaled this to 1080p from a DVD source, done a little colour correction, cleaned up the dirt and dust manually frame by frame and swapped out the audio track for the different mix of the song which appears on the '1979 Live EPs' CD.
Originally recorded by The Drifters in 1963, I suppose this is as close as Gary gets to a Christmas song.
Turn it up and enjoy.

I remember the 1st time I heard this on the vinyl flip side to Remember I was Vapour, back in 1980. It stopped me in my tracks. Just an incredible solo and I nearly wore that side out over the following weeks. Also one of the main reasons I had to have synthesizers in my life. Billy is an absolute legend. ❤

The Hammersmith Odeon in London! I was seventeen and somewhere halfway back in the crowd. The acoustics were fantastic. The music washed over you like a tidal wave!

Chris Payne says in an interview I watched recently he too was sad to see Billy go, but he wasn't able to stay on because of Ultravox.

@@Workerbee-zy5nx - A great musician indeed! 😃👍 Different style but also very synth-heavy: SAGA from Canada, and their keyboardist Jim Gilmour has very fast fingers, too (e.g. the instrumental parts in 'On The Loose' and 'Humble Stance') 🙂 Lots of Moog use on their first four, five albums! 😍

@@Workerbee-zy5nx - But at least you tried! 😊👍 Guitar is also one of _my_ instruments, but I'm nowhere near Ian Crichton's level 😅 Maybe one has to be Canadian in order to be that fast and accurate?! Some other bands from there like Rush are able to play in a similar way! 😄
