Gary, I was around 11 when we had a cassette of your Shout4Joy album and I loved all the songs but this song touched me deeply. I was the weird kid at school, didn't have any friends, oftentimes bullied, my grades that time were starting to going down and my dad worked abroad and I didn't have a brother to look up to. I had an old keyboard in my room and just started to pick out the piano notes from this song. Sometime later, my mom probably noticed and she came into my room, talked to me about accepting Christ as my Lord and Savior, and so I did. Fast forward to present, I have been playing keyboard in the worship team for 20+ years and happy to report that Christ has been my Healer, Teacher, Deliverer, Father, Friend, Forgiver, Provider, Brother and, of course, my Messiah. Thank you for this wonderful song.

our pastor saw Gary in a concert in the 90s. When Gary sang this song, it was said that most celebrities who were present were teary eyed. Our pastor shared, 'Gary can touch these celebrities in a way that no Pastor can' . I think that still stands true today.

I've been suffering from depression since my high school days up to this day. I am in denial of the fact that I might have this disease inside me that's been consuming me all along. halos sa araw araw ng buhay ko feels like I am not living but more on surviving. I have a very religious family too. We go to church every Sunday and yes I have the most beautiful family I could ever wish for, but having these things and being a Christian doesn't mean we are immune to the burden of the world. It doesn't make us invulnerable of affliction. So I learned to accept the reality that the enemy may always be there, but God's love for us is overflowing. P.S. I now write songs to help me with my depression. God is Good!

I ran away from God throughout my college and young adult life. My dad was a pastor of this big church in Manila and he dedicated his life to mentoring and helping people to the point that he didn’t have a lot of time for me. The same people he helped kicked him out of the church and hurt him deeply. From that point on I told myself “If that what it means to be a christian then I don’t want to be one.” I thought I can live my life without God...until a series of bad decisions and unhealthy relationships brought me to the lowest point of my life...divorce, alcohol and an overnight trip to jail. I remember being in that small cell, this song kept playing in my head over and over again. The lyrics “I’ve been looking for someone like You”...was exactly what I needed. Since then, I’ve dedicated my life to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ...He is everything that I’ve been looking for all my life. Thank you Gary for this song.

I've always loved this song, but yesterday, in the middle of my COVID quarantine away from my family and friends, this song finally hit home in a way that it never had before. Yes, it's always been a good Christian song, but rarely, if ever, have I actually felt the desperation behind the prayer in this song. Now I know. And with all who are just literally sick and tired, I pray, "Could you be Messiah, please be Messiah, to me?"

I've been through sadness, hatred, and anxiety these past few months, I forgot how to rely and surrender to God. And I always find peace in his songs. It reminds that whenever you feel happy, sad or angry about something just pray with all your heart. He reminds me that GOD is still here. I just chose to not see or feel him. Which led me to the angst I feel and the constant negativity. But the way Gary sings like praying I go back to GOD crying like a baby. He really is one of God's warriors. Lifting people up and reminding us to always go back to GOD. I believe that.

From my high school days till now i will always be a fan of such great artist Gary V. Watched some of your concerts back then but this song and warrior is a child made me tear up and cry all the time. I remember my child self memorizing this song while cleaning our house, when i was in grade school. It was in a compilation of Christian songs being played by GMA before they sign on air on Saturday mornings. I memorized it after two times i heard it. (It was not then in an album. If my memory serves me right, this came before Shout 4 joy album.)And it became my prayer and resolute song. Having experienced so much triumph, whenever I sing this in my mind as prayer, in times of trials, I can’t sing it aloud without pouring tears. Thank you Gary Valenciano for the gift of music and gospel. Maraming salamat. ❤️

I even tried to sing and play the keyboard like you.. thank you for being an image of hope and pure energy that God will always be there to take us out of the dark. My only sister is having a brain surgery this Monday. I'm so many miles away taking care of other peoples lives to keep them well and there's no other way to go home at this time.

This song is from the sheep who longs and yearns for the shepherd to go look for him and find him because he is lost, in pain and helpless. And in response, Jesus leaves the 99 and comes to his rescue. He carries the sheep on his shoulders til he is strong enough to walk on his own again. The beautiful thing about God's love is no matter how many times we go astray, he will gladly leave the 99 to search for for the 1, for His sheep, because He knows His sheep and His sheep know Him and no one can take them away from his hands. Thank you Gary. I am really grasping for straws esp with this pandemic. Hope seems so intangible, impossible. Listening to your music, the UP Madrigal, Regine and Morisette's have been my way to keep my life in check. God bless you. I've lost friends, colleagues and a relative from Covid and i can't seem to take that step you know. But songs like this gave me that glimmer of Hope and Pls don't stop!
