OMG.......THANK YOU I just had the 3 blinking light error and Google brought me to your video. I did what you said and pulled that hose out and when I sucked on it to hear the clicks I got a mouthful of water. Once I cleared all the condensation that had collected the furnace was back to normal. Thanks a million Bryan

Just want to take a minute to thank you and thank you RU-vid. I fixed my furnace, Probably saved $500 - $1500. Control board was blinking 3x and induction fan kept going on and off itself. Armstrong furnace. I’ll explain the price range shortly. But it’s your video and another video that really helped after watching about 10 videos! You and this other person explained it very well. With that basic knowledge and understanding of functions, I was able to isolate the problem. Thanks again, read on for details :) If you have the will and ability to problem solve and research, it will save you a lot of money. So $600, the technician said was my problem, the control board. I said all you have to do is unplug and plug things, I can do that myself but since you’re here can u give me a better price. And the key question, “is this going to fix it?” I understand the answer, but I don’t like it, “we will only know once we do it”. I felt this was a fix but will lead to other issues/charges. So I paid their trip/diagnostic charge, thank u. I bought and swapped the control board myself. Control Board only $125. Dedicated about a day to educate myself. Found out, it was NOT the control board, so I have a spare now, in case. Turned out to be a short in my thermostat wires. Lucky for me it was right where the furnace was, I don’t know if the installer or other technicians that came before & did this on purpose but there was an open wire touching the side of the furnace. This is the furnace side close to the wall, so it was kind of tucked in between. I felt wow this is HVAC milk money, like a shady ponzi mechanic. But then again, there’s a slight chance it was random. Also want to mention the companies that I called are all 4-5 star, google reviews with many reviews.

Thanks so much for this video! The first 30 seconds told me I needed to check the vacuum tube and when I sucked on the tube to see if it would hold pressure I got water coming out. Apparently a rain we had this morning allowed water to sneak in there somehow but after draining it (not much of it) my heat is working again. Thanks, Bryan!

Did the suck test on the pressure switch and it checked ok. Put my shop vac on blowing and blew back through the exhaust pipe, took the small hose off and blew through it, reassembled and presto we have heat. the clue to test the pressure switch was valuable. I could have bought a new part and still had the problem. Thanks for the help

Your video helped a lot. Lennox furnace, 3 blinking red lights. I removed the tube between the pressure switch and the combustion air inducer. I ran the pipe cleaner through the tube, no blockage. then I took the pipe cleaner reamed out the hole in the combustion air inducer where the tube connects. I think I dislodged a piece of corrosion that may have been blocking the air flow. I heard the piece of corrosion flop around inside when the inducer motor started and then the furnace fired up.

Thank you for your video. I just got my furnace started up again when my landlord's maintenance guy said we'd need to wait on the HVAC tech. The low is -10F tonight so I wanted to get it done today. The only difference is my furnace had what looked like, two pressure switches. I pulled the hose off each, sucked in, both clicked. When I held the ON button nothing happened though, but I was trying to pinch it close and I don't think I was getting a good seal. According to forum posts, people also recommended sticking a small drill bit into the nipples where the hoses connect to the motor, incase of an obstruction or corrosion, so I did that as well (but didn't notice any resistance). I hooked everything back up, pressed the switch and the motor started to turn, so I put the gas section front plate back on and held the switch and it all fired up. Thanks again

Great video. One thing I'd suggest is leaving the thermostat off because usually will take longer startup when door switch is pressed while there is a call for heat from stat. Simple way to call for heat is first push the door switch then jumper white and red terminals on the board.
@DayClanTribe
@DayClanTribe 5 лет назад
@@bryanksees Well I'm not sure I was clear on my point. If there's a call for heat while the unit is powered on the system goes through about a 45 second blower on cycle before doing the normal startup sequence which can be avoided. It assumes there may have been an overheat cut-out so as a precaution the blower runs to cool the unit before initiating ignition sequence.

How do I fix it ? should I just vacuum the water ? if it ok after vacuum the water from the pump out should I refill with water again ? Please help .

My furnace in the attic is Trane XE80 and a humidifier Aprilaire 445 is attached to it and I have had condensation issue too. I think the humidifier is not working. In the past I had water come down through the ceiling from the furnace, and it still worked until last night. I opened the humidifier collection tank and emptied the water, but water still dripping from the water float sensor never ending. I got 3 blinks code. I did it like what you said in your video; nothing happened. The fan inducer tried to spin but then stopped. So I spin the fan blades manually while bending the hose after I sucked on it; then the fan started spinning by itself and the inducer started, but after a minute it died out. It did not ignite at all. What could be the problem? Is it the inducer, pressure switch itself, or control board or something else?

replaced the pressure switch as a got a lot of air when i sucked on it so there appeared to be a leak. Once new pressure switch was on I could suck on it to get the switch to close but once the other end which hooks into the blower was connected it out off. Seems to me the blower out to be sucking but it is blowing. Does that mean the blower needs to be replaced also?

Mine has 2 vacuum censors. gms9/gcs9. Went through all the same steps, both censors. but when that didn't work, i pull the connectors off each one, jumpers them together to close the switch. didn't work. so I hooked them back up, all of a sudden my shop furnace fired back up. Perhaps I have an intermittent switch, and when i jumpered, it reset the system.

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER It's worked fine since. My business neighbor is heating/cooling business for Courier/Bryant, they said it was likely tripped by high winds, snow the night before and a vacuum formed up the exhaust pipe.

I’m a service tech for a professional company…. I would NEVER recommend sucking the pressure switch in to get it to fire. Can be VERY dangerous. If the exhaust is clogged the board will think it’s not… and you will get a mini explosion.

I went on a call similar to this last week. Found a dead bird in the burner compartment, another in the first elbow from outside, then a big birds nest stuck in the exhaust right above the 3-2" reducer where it comes into the furnace closet. Idiot installer didn't put any screens on the pipes outside. I always put screens in mine. Nasty job, had to cut the line way up by the ceiling and pull all that crap out of the pipe. I put 3 screens in. One for the furnace and it's makeup air. and the water heater (also had 3" PVC vent, one of them power vent style tanks).
