Great information. I just bought a second new string from 60X Custom Strings for my 2007 Diamond Triumph. It was delivered on the 11th of January 2023. So right at 5 days ago. Everything was perfect. Specs were dead on. After about 150 shots, the peep sight hasn't moved a bit. But there is some serving seperation already up by the top idler pulley. Gonna get in touch with them today and see what will be done about it. The have a 1 year warranty, so I should be able to get a new one. Just shows that even top dollar strings can still have issues.
Edit: I got in touch with 60X Custom Strings and we have been emailing and texting back and forth the last couple days. They're making a completely custom string and cable set that is specifically for my bow. They're basically taking their $150 set and turning it into a $200 set. And they're keeping the new measurements on file for future orders. I'm extremely happy with the way they are going way beyond what there warranty calls for. Which is to just replace the set I have with the same set. They're definitely doing more than I expected them to do. Which is why I'll be continuing to be a customer.
I'm digging your channel. You come across as down to earth and your videos are honest review. I like that youre not pushing a certain product or service. I hope it stays that way. Keep up the good work man!
I had to replace my center serving after a year of shooting my Ghost string. Other then that, never had any peep rotation or lost any poundage. I'll definitely buy from Gas again.
I had the serving ends cut from one cable but that was warrantied. As far as serving separation I’ve only had maybe an 1/8” of stretch on the strings. I can’t really complain tho. I’ve had them for two years shooting 5 times a week in the sweltering heat and single digit weather also. I live in a high desert region.
The BCY 452x strings and cables from 60x are the best I've used in 37 years of archery & bowhunting. The specs are always on right from the package, they are durable and I am yet to experience peep twist on 4 different bows. I've had good luck with GAS durability but the peep twist was ridiculous.
I just put a new 60X string on my bow 5 days ago. And after about 150 shots, there is already some serving seperation up near the top idler pulley on my 2007 Diamond Triumph. Sometimes even top dollar strings can have issues. Getting ahold of them today to file a warranty claim.
Dude I built my own and my 1st set I built over a year ago and it was for my VXR my older boat And they're still in speck the bow is dead nuts actually the axle bracelit's cool erase high timing everything and that was VCY452X natural material now Now that I have switched to BCY454I4 and it's gorgeous it took me time to get it right don't give me wrong several sets throughout the way I do Bloodline material but I just haven't had as much success but I just now really started figuring it out I'm telling you I don't have one bit of peak twist serving separation nothing if you build your own it is It's beautiful it takes time to learn but it's amazing what's you do learn
Jeff I highly recommend finding a local string maker near you for your next set. Stop by your local archery club and ask around surly you’ll find someone. It’s best to have the same person making sets of stings day in and day out. Unlike those big string companies where you can get Joe making your strings one day and sally making them the next. A very reputable string maker that you can order online is catfish custom strings I think he’s out of Michigan
Appreciate the honest review. I just ordered some GAS strings and here I am checking out reviews AFTER I paid for them.. Making me wonder if I should be canceling my order now
I have Rouge R19 Pro strings on my Hoyt Ventum. Had them for about a year and a half and haven’t had any issues. Love the strings. Also heard good things about ABB
I've ordered from them twice so far and twice I had quality control issues. First time the cables weren't served long enough, not making it around the cam and they replaced them after owning up to it. Second time on a different bow a cable strand broke after one weekend, plus they messed with the dimensions for the V3X so I couldn't get it in spec. They replaced the cable and it was pretty apparent it was made longer than the other cable with the amount of twists in it to get it in time. Instead of saying something again I just ordered new strings from a different company to try. I want to really like them but have only had problems.
That sucks. It seems like we aren’t the only ones who’s had issues. They are a small company who got a lot of hype and got really big in a short amount of time. Hopefully they can get it figured out.
Great video and transparency is awesome in your vids. I do fully agree on "best strings" this cloud of people have over that name. It's a cloud of fluff and not much truth. My buddy had to have a set. He bought octanes month before season. 2 weeks before he calls me to tune his bow bc his peep moved a lot, his timing was off, and he had serving separation on both cables.. I had to give him a backup setup I had. I still have them in my basement he didn't want them back or want warranties made again bc he lost all trust. A lot of marketing hype for sales imo. Liking that hinge 2. Great vids keep it up
Thank you. I don’t think they have a terrible product, like anything else, there will be issues. No company or product bats a thousand every time. The Hinge 2 is nice. Really love shooting it
That's real life for us. Lol. Thank you for review. My strings on my Matthews V3X 29 are still the factory Zebra. So far they have been great. I shoot 600 arrows a week. Some stretch is still occurring. I have to adjust the cables every now and then. Servings have been great. At the moment I am looking at 60X bow strings. Subject to change. Had is still on the list. Butt with only a year warranty I feel the price may be on the high end. So many good options out there.
@@jeffcordero_ that's what I love. One of my pro shops near by me said there is a guy who makes awesome string in my area. I love to support my local shops. So I may try them out. I have time to shop.
It depends how much you shot. If you shoot a lot you won’t get a full year out of any string. Iv had my Ventum 30 for 6 months with factory strings and cables. They are War out keep in mind that I probably shoot 60 or 70 times a day
I'm a little disappointed in the gas bowstrings I put on my v3x 29. I have about 3 months on the set and they are pretty much shot. Serving coming undone by the roller guard, Serving separation by the cable end loops, Serving separation on main string at the cams and a strand broke by my raptor peep. I sent emails with pictures, but I have to take it to the bow shop I purchased the strings through to see if they will cover anything under warranty. I guess the 1 year warranty doesn't cover shooting alot, the prime reason I went with gas bowstrings was their 1 year warranty. I'll probably go with A3 for my next set.
I wouldn’t be too worried. They have obviously had a lot of success, I could have had a bad string. Like I said I’m the video my cables look great and have no signs of wear. Otherwise I was happy with them and will leave them on my Hoyt.
They actually recently “fixed” the click on the hinge 2… I got a new one on a “warranty claim” 2 weeks ago and it functions 100% perfect in my opinion… the click is the exact same feel and sound as the OG hinge…
I shot a newer one as well and I actually like the older click now. It’s not as “loud” as when I first a shot it. It makes the old click feel like someone snapping a tooth pick 50 yards away. You can barely feel it
@@jeffcordero_ yeah the original click on the hinge 2 didn’t actually feel like a “click” to me… it was more of a dumping thud… I felt it more then heard it also… but they have sense fixed it and it’s awesome… suppose to get the thumb button soon to go with it.
Man I’m a GAS guy I have vapor trail and some that a guy made and gas was the best we have gotten probably 500+ strings from vapor trail and we always have to twist the crap out of them and the serving isn’t as good as gas especially on the loop ends some strings are just duds I’d have gas replace it and try it again
@@jeffcordero_ I had a vapor trail string that they didn’t put the right amount of speed nocks on so I had to do the same I still vote gas it seems to me to be stronger not as many small broken strands better serving on the loop ends and the peeps always stay in the gas not so much with VT
Check out Phantom Bowstrings. Different material in the string. They use Bloodline Fibers which is more durable and require less maintenance. GAS uses BCY, which is the industry standard, but Bloodline took it to the next level. If you need a set, reach out to me, I can get you a set.
I haven’t. Personally I have and am currently shooting Threadz. I’ve always had great success with them and the company. I had a good experience with gas as a company too.
I bought some custom bow strings from my “local” (4 hours away) bow shop (podium archery). Picking it up tomorrow, they are pre stretch so I won’t have to readjust anything once set up, fingers crossed. Also, I would look at VICTORY Rip TKO arrows. Found your channel recently and enjoying what you are putting out. Thanks
I have no doubt you’ll love the strings from Podium. I’m not local (east coast) from him but I do buy stuff from him. I almost went with the Rip TKO last year, but they where impossible to find and that’s how I ended up with Sirius. I have zero regrets with them.
A3 Archery. no one even comes close. lots and lots of twisting to get my bows into spec with GAS Ghost XVs. after 4 bows with XVs and all had the same issues and shooting 3-4lbs under poundage and took a long time to settle in. Was not impressed at all.
I think they're having some quality issues I seen they're in loop serving and a store the other day and they look like s*** I won't be real Is my in loops on my strings that I build blow there's a way I just built a set of strings for a bow Tech reckoning by personal bow I didn't have to put one twist in any string any cable in it I built them dead nets to spec and they come out and that's timing was right on
Not a big fan of Gas. Known of too many people with quality issues. Actually shot at a national event with a guy that had brand new Gas strings and we watched 👀 the serving come completely apart. Then Gas charged the guy $30 to replace the serving. There are much better options out there than Gas IMO...
