If you ever get de-quarantined, you should grab one of those mega-cheepo 20 cars for $5 sets from Dollar General/Family Dollar, etc. Not only do they make good cheap teams for beginners, but you can also smash the extras with a hammer for junkyard terrain.
A really funny aspect of Gaslands (at least in my house) is when I play it with my 5, 7 and 9 year olds and they pretty much drive those cars the way they would drive a car in real life. At first it wasn't apparent, but after the first game I replayed the path and actions of their vehicles in my head as they would have happened in real time. All of them pretty much jump in, drive sorta okay forward as long as there are no obstacles, but very quickly over-accelerate and lose control and/or crash...generally they spin out in circles faster and faster until they wreck or are wrecked. lol God I want to play this with some adults other than my wife, god bless her.
I picked up the gold Mega Force Enforcer buggy at a thrift store in great condition for 1.00 last year. It was my 1st Hot Wheel purchase when my buddy got me into Gaslands. I was excited about the guns, but he was excited about the car.
I found an Ecto 1 and some transparent cars, including a train for a Beverly team, a cop car along with an old transformers ambulance happy meal toy and an arctic rescue snowplow for a more unique Highway Patrol team, so that's fun.
We used to take matchbox cars and glue bits from model car kits on them to look like guns and stuff to play the original Steve Jackson Car Wars. It was not much trouble to scale the whole game up from Car Wars scale to Matchbox scales. We'd put boxes on the floor for buildings and make other obstacles out of lego. Masking tape on the carpet would create roads. We'd push those cars around all day rolling dice and blowing each other up. I'm too old to play on the floor anymore though.
i got already combat ready dino riders treasure hunt original stingrod, and warthog. got my old stingrod 2 (grey with blue rockets and red windows) aaaaand maybe some more on my "played" cars bag from my childhood, dunno, got like 500 played cars and dont remmember all of em.
Yep. I think the North Star stuff is designed specifically for Gaslands. We've used Stan Johansen's 20mm Road Warrior line for turrets and armor. Works great.
You missed Attaxxi. I have one Attaxxi barely modified, with a sidekick, armored car painted in a Nazi theme, named Uber. They are "The People Movers."
@@oldhammered by the way, my wife and I have been enjoying your channel a lot! I have the Rumble In Antarctica game (and the Warengine PDF) and convinced her to play a skirmish with Modiphius Star Trek minis. We got an upcoming rumble between a TOS Federation Landing Party, and a Klingon Warband! My wife is miniwargaming with me, thanks to you! :) She never would have played a GWAR game just from my suggestion alone. Thank you!
